@jcfmarshall I would suggest you give a listen to Levon Helm of The Band. He came along about ten years ahead of Karen, so I wouldn't be surprised if he hadn't inspired her, in some way, to even attempt it. The Band's videos of "Ophelia," "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down," and "The Weight" feature Levon doin' it just like Karen did it. Interestingly, like Karen, although a superb vocalist, has always considered himself a drummer that sings.
