In australia this year a new gsxr1000 or cbr1000rr will cost you around 18,000. A 1098s 30,000.For 12,000 dollars you could do a lot to a jap bike. The 1098s is a beautiful thing but that's really hard to justify. However in a perfect world i'd have all 3. Just for the record i got the gixxer. Happy riding

Well the 1098s with open pipes has done the fastest ever 1/4 mile ever recorded 9.79 secs @147.2 mph. It beat the hayabusa. It accelerates harder than one too but dont have the top speed. For sure you can turbo the hayabusa etc but how about a turbo 1098. The 1098 is a great bike and its not all about power. Just try and race one round a track and see what its good at.

It's a totally different bike than the hyabusa. This 1098 would fall under the category of "superbike" while the hyabusa is "hypersport." The Duc would be a great track performer with sharp handling and better midrange. The hyabusa is definately more of a drag bike. It'll top out higher than the Duc. but on a track it wont feel great. The Duc also has a V-twin vs. the Busa inline 4 which are just two very different beasts. bottom line they're both good bikes with very different purposes.

No they don't. I've had 3 ducatis and 1 MV Agusta and I only had one problem, once, with a fuel gauge... They have much more style than japanese bikes, they're exquisite, refined, and because of that they're more expensive. So, it's really for people with good taste and money... Not for everyone.
