the phone itself is very very basic with basic phone features (compaired to some of the phones out now like the android phones or palm pre). What makes the iphone "good" are the 85000 apps that make the phone more interesting. Without the apps, its just a sexy looking cell phone with standard features. did i mention it's also sexy, because being sexy sells alot of units.

I'll bite and again say that the reason why performance of the iPhone 3G is slow is the device not the network. Even where network performance is optimal, performance is unaffected (see my other videos). The OS 3.0 software dramatically improves performance. The iPhone 3GS improves performance even more. None of these gains are related to network improvements. The unrecognizable performance in the ads is bogus. Apple corrected the situation by adding a 'sequence shortened' tag to the ads.

With edge I was a lot slower but still completed all my tasks before that 3g iPhone displayed in the video.

I liked the other satire ad better. Yes, 3g isn't instant as it stands it's faster than any other phone I've used. I can start browsing with all images loaded way before my friends can. For the record I bought a fuze before my iphone and the browsing experience doesn't compare. I wish it did, I really do but every other phone I've used FAILS for browsing. The iphone isn't perfect but so far it has the best touch screen, best apps, best web browsing and best audio playback.
