  • can i ask you a question? if we turn this model into a low poly( like. to use as a gaming model) can we still use these high poly meshes as shaders for textures? like normal maps and stuff?

  • @dfghj241 yes, that is how it works

  • @sergiossn awesome!

  • At :15 seconds in, it looks like you invert the mask, and extrude the skull to make the primary form for his hair. How did you go about doing that, is there a specific function you used, or did you just invert and scale up? Thanks.

  • I know this vid is already over 4 years old butI love how manly you desinged his face. He looks really like a brutus. Thanks for sharing!! :) I hope you keep up this wonderful works!

  • @Orsuss Thanks!

  • Looks like someone crapped in his cornflakes

  • What brush did you use on this model on the part where you detailed the forehead, the ears... the one with the smooth edge but clay-like effect?

  • Now, add physics to his hair

  • it has the same profile as Arnold Schwarzenegger

  • SIIICCKK your lines are so clean.

  • what device do you use to sculpt? like a mouse? or pen and tablet?

  • @gobacktorussia Just looking at the way he's moving the pointer I'm 99% sure he's using a tablet. You really have to use a tablet. Doing a model like this with a mouse would be torture.

  • Awsome!

  • can you please show the starting stage of sculpting

  • Can you then take the character into maya and rig it and animate it??

  • @iinfiiniitii yes, there are many ways to do it, easier and easier everyday

  • @sergiossn wow! and it will keep the same detail we see here??

  • dang

  • Digging the bouffant! :D

  • Beutus? is HELLBOY WHITH HAIR...

  • I like your style. Awesome work.

  • I tried this on my model but when I extrude, I can only edit the edges of the subtool not all over, any idea why?

  • @TobyLee87 you still have a mask, remove any mask before sculpting

  • is this julius caesar?

  • IF THEN, SHOULD THEY COME HOME.

    WITH FAILED ATTEMPTS WE'LL KNOWWWWW.

  • god job

  • SUPER!

  • what brush did u use for the fine details on the hair?

  • @ExtremeGam3r64

Standard, and standard+alpha with 3 circles

  • @sergiossn thanks

  • @sergiossn how do you do the hair extrusion? what tool/brush is it?? thanks..

  • @sabotaz90 mask, then extract from geometry palette

  • @sergiossn dont get what you mean, sorry i only started yesterday..

  • good princip for hair.thanks

  • really good scetch

  • wow!!!!

  • very nice

  • Who is Brutus. Nice work.

  • A subordinate that was quite socially close to Caius Iulius Caesar, Emperor of the Roman Empire b.c! if memory serves right!

  • The cigar throw me. Yes I think I've heard of him. From what I remember from the days of the TV series Rome. It was a good series that I'll have to buy. Thanks.

  • He look like from wow :P

  • I activated "Symmetry"

  • thats awesome. how do u extrude after you masked it? and does it add to poly or is it just pulling it out?

  • extract in subtool menu, it creates another subtool

  • I'll give another ZBrush course at CICE in Madrid the January 19th.

    More information in Cice's website.

  • WTF this stuff is sick!!!!

  • awesome!

  • Brilliant stuff dude, thanks for sharing that. I love how this is so much like sculpting clay, but in the computer. =)

  • where do you get zbrush 3.1 out of curiostiy?

  • pixologic

  • thanx

  • ok help me my guy is all squarey and stuff is there a way to make him better quality say.. by a button

  • help me ok i have zbrush 3.1 ok im a noob at it and when i open a guy or make one i see the guy but when i zoom in i see little squareslike its bad quality i seen the same thing in the begginnin of ur vid and then u went to the right of the screen and pressed some thing and then the guy was realy good quality can you help me make it good like that....ps nice vid :)

  • I think you are looking for the render settings,

so the render has better quality.

  • Good stuff. Took me by surprise when you were painting the mask initially and bam there was hair. Hehe.

  • nice model...and nice technique to hair

  • ay tu brutay? You've become a three-dee model too?

  • Great Sketching techniques, its very good to see people utilizing the advantages that Zbrush gives, it gives artists with great ideas and skill an easyer way to achieve amazing detail and precision on a model, when combined with the already amazing models achievable in maya or max it can make for an amazingly detailed model, id like to see some texture put on this model, with your precision to detail has potential be an awesome character. i will be posting my own vid soon, check it out :P

  • Great sculpt. Love the comic book look.

  • Awesome! You rock.

  • Awesome Work !

    couple of questions :-

    >>What processor,ram,video card do you use ?

    >>How do you extrude the hair region out like that in ZB(at 00:14).

    >>What was the polycount on your base model ?

  • laptop, 2 GHz, 1 Gb RAM

    Extract, subtool menu

    around 900 polygons

  • How were you able to add so much detail without the model getting all blocky and stuff?

  • dont know... just.... sculpt and see how far I can go

    dont quite get your question.

  • Very appealing shapes, nice work! How did you extrude the hair like that? I realize it was masked off, but did you scale it or something? It seemed rather fast.

  • Do the mask then: Tool -» SubTool -» Extract

  • How do you make the model white? :P

  • I change the material (and the color of the object if necessary)

  • What brush did you use for the hair?

  • flatten brush

    rake brush

    and standard brush

  • thank you...

  • awsum :))

  • awesome man,very inspiring
