IWC has great watches with very nice movement.

I am only not that certain when it comes to value for money. There are a lot of IWC watches in the grey market where they come at 65 - 70% of official retail price. Just like me there are many watch collectors who believe IWC, altough a good an high end watch, is overpriced...

Depends on the model. With replicas getting better day by day with CNC and computers, it will be hard to tell without the fake being next to a real one.

I'd rather buy a quality "fake". who cares.

The difference is in the movement. Cheap watches don't offer great movements but mostly bad finished ETA movements...

However, it is true that fakes get better by the day. I believe this is a GOOD thing, since it means more competition for the real product. In the past they could sit on their laurels, but these times are over.

What I like most in the current watch market is the impressive improvement that lower grade watches like Longines and Maurice Lacroix have proven.
