  • Michael Buckley sent me here lmao

  • Watching this cause of Buck! :D btw, this girl did great

  • If this was not a 10 than I don't know what a 10 looks like

  • amazing o_o

  • she looks soooo tall

  • Man these announcers talk the entire routine! I love compuslories though :)

  • Man these announcers talk the entire routine!

  • La vi por primera ves en las olimpiadas de Seul y su belleza me cautivo desde el primer instante y la considero como una de las mejores gimnastas del mundo.

  • I Miss the compulsories, I really wish they would bring them back

  • Throughout her gymnastics career she was in a league of her own, I mean she actually points her toes in her back handsprings. She was robbed of a ten.

  • nice

  • stunning

  • DIVINE!

  • The best and most graceful tumbler i have ever seen should have beeen a 10

  • @stickitupyourasteric yeah it was beautiful but Silivas' compulsory was a lot better than this..

  • @bearchamp69 I totally agree! I didn't get around to posting Daniela's version

  • sike u good

  • geez i wish i can compete this! it would be sooo awesome

  • I know the soviets choreographed it and all but the way the romanians learned the second pass looks better, without stepping one leg out...

  • I agree! Daniella's version of this in actually my favourite!

  • ooo pretty.

  • I'm pretty sure the commentator isn't aware of the fact that there is a music.

  • The commentator is very informative. Even though she is pretty much non stop during the routine, I don't mind it. Much better than the NBC trio.

  • the tumbleing is way to easy

  • The compulsories were always so beautiful and balletic.

I wish she had used choreography more in this style in her optional routines.

  • This is well executed and elegant, but there is no expression or interpretation - she is like a robot. Compare this to Silivas from this same competition- there is no comparison either in terms of interpretation or technical execution. It is a shame that the scores were so close.

  • Hmmm...well, i am not a gymnastics experts, but what i do know is that Boguinskaya is one of the greatest gymnasts EVER.

  • I remember her. She had a lot of finesse when ther powerful gymnasts were En Vogue.

  • Absolutely beautiful choreography!!! Wow gymnastics has really gone to shit!!!!!!

  • Compulsory exercises are great to watch; such elegance is required. The commentator is also great. I wish the NBC commentators were as good as Frances.

  • wonderful!

nowadays do you get some score for 0:50-0:55??

  • "nowadays do you get some score for 0:50-0:55??" Back Walkover to Handstand full turn is an A.

  • lovely lovely lovely

  • graceful

  • Lovley, and its nice to hear someone who knows what they are talking about, and not just picking apart the everything she did.

  • Can I say, here, that I've not seen better since?

    She is "The Swan."

  • Bogi defines the word GRACE! That was beautiful! And, the female commentator is GREAT! Anyone know her name?

  • The female commentator is Frances Crampton, she became Australia's first internationally accredited gymnastics judge. She is still actively involved in sports in Australia.

  • I can show this to non-gymnastics people and they will say "WOW why don't they do this anymore?" I truly wonder if the "tricksters" are stealing more hearts than the "artists", who were throwing tricks that were often just as difficult as today's?

  • Blame the CODE, not the gymnasts.

  • What did she score for this?

  • It's posted at the end of the video, the VERY end.

  • Bogi should have been put up last I think. She was superior to Shushonova in this routine. Which Soviet girl followed Bogi before Shushu?

  • Laschenova?

  • well umm im that gurl... thats doing the rutine

  • This routine was glorious! I think Svetlana Boginskaya was better than Yelena Shushunova in compulsories. Her BB compulsory was impeccable.

People claim that Sveta was overscored and was not deserving of her medals. I actually think she was superb and was able to capitalize on Aurelia Dobre's injury and Olga Strazheva's fall to get on the AA podium. Her optional FX was the one routine that was overscored.

  • that was brilliant, she's so graceful

  • Simple and beautiful those how compulsories were! Now it's all about the triple twists

  • I heard she and Kim Zmeskal didn't shake hands at the 1991 World Champs. Kim said, "I hate Svetlana!"

  • I don't know since I could not watch the 1991 Worlds that year but it seems they made up-they trained under Bela together for a while and appeared together on the cover of International Gymnast-I forget what year/issue.

  • i miss compulsories :(. check her out in 92 and 96 as well on compulsory floor.

  • Yea, she really capitalized on the flexibility moves, and her Korbut roll was excellent, as was her toepoint.

  • The way a compulsory floor exercise should be.
