For decades, former Soviet bloc, French and Italian judges cheated against the weak Canadians, Israelis and others federations; deciding who would win before they even skated.
In the Sale & Pelletier case, the lead American referee caught the cheating, reported it, and demanded the double gold and he wouldn't shut up.
The IOC publicly ordered Figure Skating to stop cheating and change its scoring system or be kicked out of the Olympics.
Sale Pelletier did not deserve a gold medal. They skated the program we all saw dozens of times, nothing new or challenging about that. They disgraced figure skating by accepting another gold medal in a token gesture.

The skate to the face made me grasp my face and gasp and groan... and Michelle Kwan made me mad at those Olympics. Yes she's a beautiful skater and the only title left she needs is an olympic gold. I thought it was pretty prideful that she had that dress, routine, and song with the absolute expectation she was going to win gold.
i think you missed the saddest moment.... when salé and pelletier lost the gold medal to the russian team in Salt Lake City 2002. i cry every single time i watch their program (which was flawless and so emotional) and their reaction after getting their marks.... it's just heartbreaking...

No, what was sad was the way the Canadian pigs cried like babies until they got what they wanted. B&S were BY FAR the superior skaters, even with a mistake. Their basic skating skills were so much better than S&P, it was a joke to even consider giving S&P gold medals. What break my heart is the way B&S are villified, when all the did was show up and skate beautifully, not like the truckdriver Canadians.
at least they got what they wanted because they were Canadian and their federation was strong and wealthy. and at the same time, Drobiazko/Vanagas were placed fifth in ice dancing while deserved bronze at least, but noone cared, coz they were "only" Lithuanians. and then a month later same happened at worlds and their protest went unnoticed again. So yeah, what happened to S/P in Salt Lake wasn't sad for me, it was riddiculous. Silver wasn't enough, huh? some people didn't even get that much.
so why didn't the Lithuanians got what they deserved, huh? i'm just saying their case isn't sad, Drobiazko/Vanagas's is, because they were robbed as well (twice in one season), but nobody gave a crap coz Lithuania is small and has no great history in FS. Just saying the team would probably have won many medals more if represented Russia where Margarita was from.
It's Dorota Siudek (of the Polish pairs team Siudek/Siudek), and she's crying because her and her partner Mariusz had to withdraw from Worlds last year after a nagging back injury of his only got worse during the warm up for the long program.
You have an extra pair of kleenex? I think I feel a sniffle coming on..... Waaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhh.... Can you do it with Ian and Sylvia's "Everybody have to Say Goodbye"?
Nicely done. I couldn't really relate to Kimmie's Olympics being that heartbreaking, considering it was her first Olympics and she placed 6th, but good job. I like the choice of music :-)
thanx for the laughs..

Can you give me an example where S&P said anything bad about the Russians? S&P were nothing but classy in their reactions.

@Haley452 They got what they rightly deserved because the judges finally got caught cheating.
