this is a hardware device that works independent of whatever software. Just another peripheral device kind of like a mouse. If it is not working for you with GIMP, it will not with Photoshop either.
Help! My pen wont work and I even tried switching the batteries! I've tried unplugging the tablet and reinserting the disk, but I can't seem to figure out what has gone wrong. It was working just fine a day ago! Please, PLEASE reply! Thank you..
I've had no technical problems with my tablet, it just has felt cumbersome in use, not nearly as fluent and detailed as I'd like it too be... I guess I might be having a bias wishing that it was like drawing on paper were you can see where you left off on your line and continue it, but it seems to have a different type of technique too it.
Thank you for your review, it was most helpful to observe your use of the Graphic Tablet.
How do I use my tablet after I plug it in and install all that other crap? I have no idea, this is my first tablet so i'm lost, and i'm starting to get really pissed at it >.<
@XvImaUnicornvX Are you using it on a PC or a Netbook? seems It only works like a mouse on netbooks without any software needed, not more than that. Does it uses Windows or Mac? How to install on both of them are practically different. These are the some things you need to consider
in my set up, with my tablet, sensitivity was based on the amount of pressure applied by the pen onto the tablet. There is a way to adjust it, its in the software/settings.
@tacticalspatula yeah, I found out after I commented. The problem is the laptop can't read the disc when I try to download the macro key manager. It can allow me to download the Artweaver from the disk, but that's it. Do you know how I can fix that please?
unfortunately, I don't recall having to install the software. My system and OS recognized the tablet automatically and installed the necessary on-board drivers.
@ObscuroSknim1234 yeah, the tablet should have been automatically recognized by your computer. There should be an icon on the bottom besides the time & date, where you can adjust things once the tablet is attached
oh yeah not to mention. even though it's really cheap, if the nub runs out or just magically breaks, you'd have to buy a WHOLE pen again which costs about $20. many other tablets, although its starting cost is more expensive, they have cheap replacement nubs. :I
personally, i think this tablet was really good.. for the first few months.
some problems about this though is that the pen pressure sensitivity is just too great even after you adjust it.
After those few months, it just kept having problems after problems. often times it cant detect pen pressure anymore on my canvases and now it's come to the point where it just doesn't move AT ALL unless i clicked the 'test' for pressure on its menu. i dont recommend this for long term users AT ALL.
I recently purchased one myself, now as a first time tablet user, it is a bit... different. I was wondering about the learning curve? Such as navigation, or maybe a tip to learn better control of my cursor... (=~=;)
After useing a mouse right handed, it feels so weird to use my left to draw! (Lefty by nature.) Other than that I like it since it doesn't seem too complicated so far. (^.^;)
Correct. For instance, if you are using it to draw, contact is what actually applies the virtual "ink". Hovering slightly over the pad moves the cursor to the next location that you wish to make a brushstroke.
Alright, so when you move the pen across the tablet without actually touching it, does the cursor move by that? or do you have to use your touchpad or an external mouse?
Just a crazy question because I'm planning on getting this tablet
tisk got one does not work on gimp do i have to buy photoshop?

@XvImaUnicornvX
naturally, it will depend on your hardware, your OS, etc etc. The ultimate answer to your question though? Honestly - RTFM.

well, I am actually left-handed too. I think like many other things, practice is key. After a while of drawing with it, it becomes more natural.

can this work on windows7?
mySUP3Rmode 1 year ago
@mySUP3Rmode
supposedly yes, although I don't have Win7 so I cannot personally attest to this. I'm open for receiving OS copies in order to test this though :-P

I haven't tried it, but I would assume yes. It's kind of a generic peripheral (graphics tablets)
