Liked the vid. 2 questions though: how did you get you windows to "jiggle" when you move them and do that fire-animation when you close them? I just installed ubuntu yesterday in dual-boot with vista.
@sorryunlucky Thats a tough one if I may say so myself. I go back/forth every few months... Love them both. I think in the end, I always go back to Windows since I support/work on them all the time for work, along with Windows Servers. Always fun to mess with Linux though.
These cornering options are standard in KDE 4.4 (most likely early KDE4 versions as well). It can actually also set middle top, bottom, left, right as well. It really makes using a desktop more efficient by using those cornering options.
Can someone help me? Whenever I record a video with gtk-recordmydesktop, everything looks fine, but when i play the file, the video is running faster than the sound, my last attempt resulted in the video finishing 1 min before the sound stopped!!!!!
wow... you recommend people to install junk programs like ubuntu-tweak instead of going to "ccsm - General - General - "Show Desktop (ButtonLeft)". Are you really trying to advertise junk?!
I think people are aware of the risks of installing any type of application. Maybe I should start my videos with a disclaimer, and a bunch of fine print saying install at your own risk. Some people it works great for, others who knows.
ok well i fixed my gnome panel. for anyone that doesnt know what that is.... its the toolbars along the top and bottom of the screen. ill explain how i fixed it for anyone having a similar problem. to start gnome panel.. right click... create launcher. for name title it gnome for command write "gnome-panel". once u get it running hit system-preferences-startup apps-add. write "gnome panel" as the name and for command put "gnome-panel"
can you help me out.... i intalled ubuntu 9.4 or somethin like that to alongside of vista. all that worked out great. but.... im having some start up issues with ubuntu. gnome panel for some reason doesnt automatically start up. i have to run a launcher for it that i have saved on my desktop. and... i cant get my appearance settings to be permanent. i turn visual effects to extra but it turns off once i restart my computer. then i have to re-set up compiz as well. help please

@Hanglands I agree - I wish Windows 7 had a few of the options... would be a very nice experience for me when using Windows.

the problem for ubunto is that micro$oft does everything to orevent people from using ubunto etc.
don´t forget that windows is usaly pre-installed on computers, and most games is written and optimies mainly for windows(micro$ost ensures that)
i recomend windows 7 loader1.7.3 for people who don´t like micro$oft
