What a waste of talent, the person who destroyed them should live there life in in HELL. BADFINGER will Live Longer than the low life that killed such talent.
Tom Evans was also great on his own, it's such a shame what so call producers will do to stuff there pockets and KILL such Grear talent. What a the music world loses two such talent. Tom and Pete. Your memoies and songs have lasted this long(40 plus) years later, longer than the shit reporters who put down and are nolonger here. R.I.P.
@a51hawks Actually, Badfinger had very good producers such as George Harrison (remember him?) and Todd Rundgren. Also, Chris Thomas (their producer for Ass, Badfinger and Wish You Were Here) was a very good friend of theirs. It was their business manager Stan Polley who pocketed all that money. If only I had a time machine...
I am not sure WHO was the most underrated .. Badfinger or the Raspberries but I know when I see these guys perform it bring a tear to my eyes.. good guys with great talent.. IF ONLY we had known what was going on with them.. the fans would have come to their rescue. Pete and Tom lost their lives.. WE lost the joy of seeing them grow, make music and perform. I'm to sad to even write.. anymore
Tom Evans had so much talent, excellent song writer and singer, better than 90 percent of the so call talent nowadays, Badfinger were used and taken. They should be alive today and giving the world great music and songs. It such a shame to see such talent driven to the end because of some low life using them for there own pocket. Tom Evans & Peter Ham and ther music will live forever.
Badfinger is a tragedy and they put out some great music. There's no telling how big they may have been if things would have been different. In this video, Joey and Tom remind me of Lennon & McCartney.
It is so sad to see this video without Pete there, but to see this and know that it wasn't long before Tommy was gone also. The band was one of the best, and were sooooo used. R.I.P. Tommy and Pete. Miss your great songs and singing. what a waste of great talent.
We play "no matter what" At local bars in our area. That song gets the best responce.Everyone just loves that song! Me as well. Have you ever known a cooler name for a band? I have not. BADFINGER is without a doubt the coolest name ever.
I've remembered every note and every word since the first time I heard it as a teenager- March, 1981? Anyway, it's fairly rare that a song registers that strongly with me. Glad to find it here after all these years.
@VenusCapricorn My gosh...my sister(55 yrs.) dug badfinger.I remember her groovin on it with her friends.I ,,,sure dont understand how i missed out on thier tunes when they played such hip jams like this.(what was i thinkin?)U tubes right on man.Im glad people remember the old stuff and save it to U tube.We would certainly miss alot of grovvy jams if it werent for peeps uploading to the site. Cool...right on man.
You know, I have to say that this lineup sounded terrific. It's too bad that things eventually went down the way they did, though. I would have liked to have seen Mike Gibbins and Bob Jackson in this lineup. Pete would have surely been missed, but that would have been a lineup that could have done some really incredible stuff.
nice song, right in tune with the times. Funny I've heard some of the Molland/Evans songs in which certain riffs or harmonies I've heard in other songs that were done after...so I'd say Badfinger in all it's forms has probably been more influential than most people are aware of. Very nice song thanks for posting!
It is MIND BLOWING!!! These guys should've been huge. Even after Peter Hamm passed they still had talent and songs to burn. Joey Molland looked and played great, Tommy Evans sang beautifully, and of course Pete wrote and sand great as well. It's enough to drive a power pop fan insane. Between them and the Raspberries... They should be touring together RIGHT NOW, no need Peter and Tom... No need.
i agree this should have been a much bigger hit...considering the poor circumstances this band had repeatedly been placed in, tom was still able to write another great number..awesome band
I read that Tony Kaye briefly played keyboards for Badfinger, but this is the first time I've seen it - thanks for sharing. He was Yes's first keyboardist but was replaced by Rick Wakeman. If this is 1981, it's shortly before he rejoined Yes for their 80s comeback line up.
Don't forget Joe Tansin who wrote this song with Tommy!

One of, if not the most underated Rock bands in my opinion! Really sad how they ended it all. Joey keeps on rocking though keeping the sound.

I'd love to know who Tommy Evans is looking at when he says "keep your feelings strong" at 2:20. Great song.

@russtyler I'm guessing he's glancing over to keyboardist Tony Kaye. Musicians very often do that, making eye contact with each other.

Tom Evans (singer in this) committed suicide in 1983, I believe. This was 1981. He sort of looks like Davy Jones of The Monkees.
WilliamRowlett 3 years ago
He reminds me more of the singer from The Alarm, especially around the eyes.
