how could someone not love this uplifiting music? this shall be my alarm from now on. imagine waking up to this. im sure ill now love to go to work every day. maybe not. ;)
what happened to art and music these days??? look at that beautiful painting... and the music just matches it. it is simply some of the most beautiful stuff
I wish that I had even a fraction of the talent that the composers and musicians of yore possessed. This is simply great, I love the interplay between the two mandolins in the second movement. I'll take the soul-touching melodies of the centuries gone by over the monotone, boring, repetative drum and synth music with the vocalists who can't sing of nowadays...and I'm only 17.
God bless you Vivaldi, sir, your talent shall be missed.
I listen to concertos all day long and I almost always just play the first and third movements...but for this concerto I come specifically for the 2nd!
there is also a torrent if you like which is called "the most relaxing classical album in the world ever". join and you will not regret, I personally liked it very much.
I love this concerto. The Andante brings to mind Gonsalves's surreal drawings, especially the skating under the moonlight one, where lights from lanterns in each skater's hand disappear into the distance and turn into starlights and the moon is just another reflected lantern light from the frozen lake, or perhaps the other way around. It's absolutely magical that each skater holds the starlights and moonlights in their hands...
2nd Movement's best version. Brilliant

A beautiful piece. Thank you for sharing it.
I wonder what this would sound like on the original gut strung instruments of the period.

I've had the pleasure to have been swooned by this for over 30 years, I believe it has helped me age gracefully, what more can one say? Superlative.

Very eloquently put. When I first came across it some 25 years ago, I couldn't stop listening (particularly to the andante) either.

Delicato, magico, galante, malinconico, struggente, anche maestoso, potente, solare: questo è Vivaldi ed è Venezia..pare che siano tutt'uno.
