Thanks for the replies! How did you get that vapour trail? It's really good! I am trying to do it inside of Halo 3 so it's a bit difficult for me! lol I am using camera trickery though, but I just need a way to get a really good vapour trail!
To be honest, I forgot where i got this one from. It is basically footage of smoke going up to the air, moved 90° and stretched to fit in the sequence. With a second, blured and lightly transparent layer it will lock more smooth. Search google for "Free Stock Footage" and you will find what you need.
This is insane! How did you do this it's incredible, I'm not to bad in After Effects, so if you could link me to a tutorial that'd be really handy! thanks!
It really isn't so hard to do that. You simply need a video of you jumping in the air. The next is a clip that shows just the background and the movement of the camera to the sky. Now u take the clip of you jumping up and cut it where you reach the highest point of your jump. Place the clip with the background directly after it. The preview will show u disappearing at the highst point of the jump.
Now make a mask of u in the last frame you're visible in, safe it as image, and place it in the next 3 frames moving more to the top. Also use some motion blur (gaussian?) on the picture.
What u will now see in the preview is you, jumping up, disappearing, and the camera moving up to the sky. For the flying in the sky u do almost the same but with a picture of you, standing in some kind of "flying" position. That's it. If you have any more questions, just ask.

Could you perhaps post a tutorial? =] I've masked an image of any sort of actor or character in a video before so that's quite new to me!
