  • Yeah...I dont care about all that shit. I just like the music video and the song.

  • GOOD SONG FUCK YEAH

  • the voice is like a blink 182 hahahaha :(

  • What happened to the world? 50 years ago if you punched a bully your parents and teachers would have applauded you for sticking up to your oppressor. Today if I hit my bully of 4 years I can potentially get expelled. I have no clue why injustice is promoted in the world today

  • @ImBackFromThe90s promoting non-violence in the most violent society mas has ever seen

  • @cherrycirclejerk there are much more violent things than fist fights. hell, purposefully attacking somebody's way of life is 10 times more evil than a smack to the face

  • i love this song , i love them <3 !!!!

    (:

  • If everyone watches this as much as me, then this vid only has like 10,000 viewers.

  • To me, it's more of a song about coming of age.Growing up, we're held back by family morals and are turned to a passive state when it comes to conflict. The family is his conscience, and rather than them literally being there, it's more of, "What would my family say/feel if i struck back?" Which is why he waits till he gets the ok from his whole family, just to finally strike back. He realizes that he's not a kid anymore, and finally accepts that he needs to stand up for himself once in a while.

  • @yomommadigspirates I agree however I also think it is a commentary on how we make decisions. We consider what other people will think of us, however when situations escalate we tend to react in ways we may regret later. The image of the mother in the end represents this attitude.

  • 1:30 = paul rudd

  • Love this band...amazing live.

  • i guess you can think of this song about war because in the song the most repetative which being the chorus says."dier times call for dier faces. i infer this is saying that when push comes to shove you have to think about all of the people who have taught you things to do in this situation. and the rest truley speaks for it's self.

  • Paul Rudd @00:42

  • @thehockeybomb I thought so too!

  • I love you Dave!

  • TPC are so amazing

  • Just raped that replay button..

  • The boy is the idea of freedom and democracy in any nation which America has intervened in militarily. The council of the parents and siblings is the American leadership and the bully is the perceived aggressor. The mother is the public and is thus the most difficult to persuade and has the ultimate say. The end result is an act of aggression that wipes out the aggressor (the bully) in one go. This is of course one reading of a song that could be a metaphor for just about anything one chooses.

  • @slothking533 I commend you, sir.

  • @slothking533 Or it could be more literal. The boy being a boy and his mother being his mother, not wanting to resort to violence but having to make a decision that she rather not make. Not everything has to relate to American politics, but hey, we've all got opinions.

  • @slothking533 the bully looks kinda middle eastern so that defiantly works as an explanation hahahahaha

  • @youcan124 You just say that because he looks like he has a unibrow with this forehead scrunched up lmao.

  • @youcan124 hey that is pretty fuckin funny but i think the kid is greek

  • @slothking533 their canedian

  • @slothking533 Dude, these guys are from Canada..

  • @ph33rbot101 I didn't realize Canadians couldn't write a song about the US. The metaphor I made up isn't the point of my comment.

  • Dave Monks♥

  • They arent from tokyo.

  • oh and Gingers cant sing

  • @rafarocket That's not true, ever heard of Aaron Gillespie?

  • im here because of the CNN story

  • :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

  • on repeat.

  • YEAH NHS!@Q!@!@!@

  • Needs moar cowbell.

  • @ChildrenOfInfidelity MOOOOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!

  • paul rudd?

  • bamboozle 2011 <3

  • I think the people in the room are sort of like a jury, and everybody has to agree before they make a decision. The BULLY's mother is the one who has to push the button, she doesn't want to hurt her son but they're trying to show her the pain he's causing.

  • @shirtmonkeys That's a really interesting take on it. I re-watched it after reading your comment and it would totally fit.

  • I <3 CANADA!

  • Good Song. Great video.

  • I dig that riff alot

  • how the fuck did i end up here...fuck THIS shit

  • @btnhfool if you don't appreciate this you don't appreciate music

  • i love this song my bro showed it to me

  • i saw them tonight. they are amazinggg and I love how they sound EXACTLY the same live. I love them so muchhh

  • Ever since I saw them live*

apparently youtube thinks editing is for chumps (not Champs :D)

  • Ever since I've seen them live, I can't listen to this song without clapping!

  • Deadmau5 at 2:29!

  • let´s everybody get this to 1 000 000 views :D

  • im gonna take a guess: the boy has his closest people watching him, which would not likely happen. and the Mom is (kind of) the deciding factor. she wants to let her son fight for himself on his own. eventually the people close to him can't take it so they help him, even though it is hard for the mother to watch (almost, if not as hard as watching him get hurt)

    thats my guess... :\

  • fuck it, i'll watch it 8,000 times to get them to a million.

  • @BOYthatROX Good job.

  • Am I the only one who finds this video kind of disturbing?

  • @CaptainGalacticMusic what makes this vid disturbing??

  • @joannrain2 It's a kid getting beat up and people that are closely associated with him are watching it POV from some strange room like there's a camera in his eye. And the mom reluctantly presses a button at the end that makes him punch the kid he's fighting really hard. It's like he's a robot that they're controlling and his mom's obviously upset with the whole thing. That's at least creepy right?

  • watch: Bambi Tokyo Police Club Drum Cover, at ncdrm13

  • Cardigan power Dave, Cardigan power (:

  • Not 1Million views yet? COME ON! They are better than Any of That Justen bieber Bullshit.

  • What is this song about?

  • I always try to memorize the words of this song so i can sing it in the shower but everytime i watch it i just end up looking at the video the whole time. distractions!

  • I can relate to the mom for being so against the son fighting back. Even though I'm not a parent myself I know as a person who was bullied the one thing I could imagine being worse than my own kid being bullied is turning into the bully themselves.

  • Less than 30 000 more views until 1 000 000!

  • screw justin bieber, tokyo police club is the best thing to come out of canada<3

  • i started crying; im so happy for that kidd lol.

  • LOL at the mom wearing an apron.

  • Comment removed

  • so there are 96 confirmed retards that use youtube, nice

  • someonee explain the goddamn video. seriously.

  • @Zanabism Ok here's what I think: it's a video about that kid getting bullied, and the decision to fight back. The room is like his conscience, as someone posted before. All those people in the room have a connection to the guy; his parents are there, his teacher, brother, even his "crush becoming girlfriend." The red x's on the outline of the body indicate where he's being hit. When all people in his conscience decide it's ok for him to fight back, even his hesitant mom at 2:15, he fights back.

  • @drzfynest65 Okay, well that makes hell of a lot more sense. I love the song and TPC, but that video, god, so confusing.

  • Sorry guys, I played this over 900,000 times due to the opening riff being so beast.

  • i met this guy and idk if you can tell but hes sooooo chill..nd tall i six one and i felt sho next to him

  • dude i met this guy and i dont know if you can tell but hes sooooo chillll...and tall im 6'1 and i felt short next to him

  • thumbs up for cardigans

  • cannot wait to see them at Bamboozle! :D

  • @FunnyTimeProductions SEE YOU THEN :D

  • their better than justin bieber

  • @MegaKingGaming Don't ever compare justin queefer to Tokyo Police club. Please for goodness sakes. Keep that name away from here, not even the same genre.

  • what an interesting name for a band lol

  • @TheoHuxtable07 a metaphor for what?

  • That mom 'ought to be ashamed of herself.

She just went along with the crowd; she went mainstream. She is no longer indie as fuck.

  • @TheoHuxtable07 That mom is basically a sellout in many ways.

  • @TheoHuxtable07 This whole music video was a metaphor.

  • this video was shot at my school. watching my friends get punched is always funny XD

  • I've know about these guys since the sixth grade, they still haven't lost their affect on me <3:)

  • @loversloveliarsliexp That doesn't make you indie.

  • @williamxlange Oh I'm not indie, & I don't try to be. Labels are for soup cans :)

  • @loversloveliarsliexp LOLOLOL WHAT

  • Why is there a 50 Cent song in the suggestions? Is my mind messin' with me? Or is youtube messed up?

  • This video gets me everytime. Now i'm paranoid about my family being inside my head delegating my movements!

  • Seeing them on the 22nd :)

  • Oh wow that is amazing. I love this so much. I am glad I stumbled upon them.

  • The mom in this video needs to get back in the kitchen and make me a sandwich. Hey she is wearing an apron isn't she?

  • Tokyo Police Club is direct support for SUBLIME with Rome at Hockeyfest in Brantford on June 5th. ticketscene dot ca for tickets.

  • Saw them in Albany last night, awesome show. Love these guys.

  • @kerberos824 I was at that show!

  • @jwhitmo1 Great show, loved that venue too. Would way rather see them there than at bigger venue like Terminal 5. Acoustics were great. Played everything I wanted to hear. Good times. Glad I'm not the only one in Albany that likes good music.
