Excellent job! I love this tune, and was lucky enough to hear the Canadian Brass perform it live a couple years ago. Great song, I never get tired of it.
Okay, folks, I keep getting comments that this is a Spanish piece and that I shouldn't be wearing Mexican garb while playing it. I am wearing the poncho and sombrero for three reasons: 1) Bullfights are also popular in Mexico and Latin America. 2) This piece was made popular by Raphael Mendez, a notable Mexican trumpeter. 3) I just was in Mexico and bought a poncho and sombrero and I thought it would be fun! Okay?!? Now you know!!!
Great performance! I'm having difficulty finding this piece for trumpet and piano, could anybody tell me where I could find this arrangement? Great job again!
I was a trumpet at WTAMU band camp from 1998-2003, got to work with Takacs my last two years in Honor Band, I think he started working there around 2002. He's one of the few good players that can teach as well. 2003 was when Alan Vissuti came. WTAMU band camp is in my best memories for sure

It's not too bad here. We're far north so we actually get colder weather in late fall and winter and even into spring.

Wow! The CJH band director recommended Dr. Takacs as a trumpet tutor for my son. I tripped over this video while learning more about this guy. - Wow!
