Sad to say... But a lot of Hmong and people in general don't really know why the Vietnam war started. Also, they don't even know how Henry Kissinger and President Nixon played their parts in this war. Gulf of Tokin was a lie to start the war. Vietnam had it's own right to claim independence from foreign rule. We had no business in Vietnam, and Hmongs were used just like every other 3rd world guerilla army working for the CIA.

at 4:28. "Some 40,000 people gave their lives on the Plain of Jars". Somewhere in that digit included my grandfather, uncle, cousin, and family members. If that 40,000 body never have their blood shredded in the battlefield for United States. Their 58,000 soldiers that died in South Vietnam would of been double or even triple that number. Just imagine without the Hmong Guerrilla fighters to infiltrated the Ho Chi Minh Trail, to rescue shot down american pilot, and protecting the US radar.

American soldiers in South Vietnam would not be able to fight a 12 years war. 1961 to 1973. They lost 58,000 troops, that just men. The Hmong suffer even harder than the american troops. 40,000 Hmong troops lost their lives during the 12 years war. Over 100,000 Hmong including women and childrens lost their lives after the communist take over in 1975.

About the curse, there is such a curse upon the hmong because they sided with the enemy and kill their hmong king taking over hmong kingdom. Without the king, the kingdom collapse, the chinese (enemy) took over. Cursed countryless hmong children from that bloodline continue to this day. The quiet Hmong only want to live in peace and gets along with any country.

well, laos was by treaty a neutral nation. but the communist broke that treaty by building the ho chi mihn trail that transport troops and supplies through most of laos and to south vietnam. the trail was the backbone of the enemy, so around 90% of all american bombs drop in vietnam was put into that trail, so that is why laos became the most bomb country in the world.
