  • it seems that is heavily based of Ralph Bakshi's LOTR.

why people bash that film so much?

  • @aquelescaraaaaaaaaaa Only thing that was out by that time. The "real movies" didn't appear at the cinema until 2001.

  • @bjorkman88 true. it's a shame Bakshi wasnt allowed to finish it.

  • I got stuck at the black riders part and gave up :( I seem to remember it was pretty cool but so hard

  • I remember this game back when I was a wee lad.

  • i dont think you can even skip dialogue in this game. really urks me

  • One of the best musical scores on the SNES. Shame the game was crap. I got it the first day it came out and my mate pissed himself laughing after we'd played it for a couple of hours.

  • The music rocks!!

  • Why so many haters? seriously 5 ppl can play HELL YEA sounds like a good sat night to me mixed in some pizza and bam best friends over UGH hell of a night mostly laughing at the game and playing it till we had enough good times with it.

  • i hated this game...tho the soundtrack was lovely

  • AVGN's just gotta review this game! and yes, he has it! This game has: repetitive scenery, slightly awkward controls, reappearing bats and snakes (ugh), stupid scavenger hunts, and douchebag supporting characters that force you to do meaningless tasks for them in order to advance the story. WHY HASN'T HE REVIEWED THIS YET???

  • And TWO Passwords! one for levels, and another to get your INVENTORY back!

  • favorite game of my childhood,unforgettable...the music was and still is kickass,i shiver when i listen to it. gj interplay.

  • 1994 was a long time ago.

  • one of the worst games I've ever played.. though I loved it :)

    PS: I hate Moria!

  • I love it's music! I wish i had...

  • @Velavros Yea I cant seem to find the spc soundtrack for it let me know if anyone find it please, itd be an awesome favor.

  • man the story moves on pretty fast

  • I have this game.

I hate the Gaffer and his stupid glasses.

  • I can't find them either... Never got really far in the game. It has a great atmosphere and music tho.

  • I have to agree with almost everyone. The music was great, too bad the game sucked ass (altho it had some charmes).

  • could listen to this all day, why oh why did the game have to suck so bad!

  • where culd i download it for pc for free?

  • well to to planetemulation and get the rom

U can download ZSNES to play the rom file

  • God the game's music is so excellent.

I don't remember the gameplay very well, but I remember being EXTREMELY frusturated with so many enemys ganging up on me at once

  • the game is hard as fuck to beat....good memories.

  • I started to play this game just because I fell in love with the music

  • For its time this was perhaps the most strongly composed music score for a vedeo game until the advent of Final Fantasy 6. These two games probably held the pinnacle of RPG music for the SNES. Chrono Trigger had great soundtrack, but it was expected of it's time and prestige. This game, out of no where, with little expectations produced a series of incredibly moody music. If you've played through the game it's amazing.

  • I played through most of this game and the soundtrack was always enjoyabke from start to finish :) I just wish I could say the same about the gameplay :(

  • This game had some pretty cool music. Too bad it sucked as a game.

  • Folk music is wonderful.

  • That game SUCKED!

  • this game brings back memories... damn

  • well at leat the snes version left more of the story in than the film.

I got a PS2 Lord of the Rings that came out just before the films and so isnt one of the film licence deals and its well hard its stupidly hard in parts!!

  • I remember this game. Cant say I liked it, but like the others here, I loved that intro song.

  • The gam's music was excellent. I wish the gameplay would have been excellent too.

  • nice song

  • I was hoping for more Rankin & Bass stuff, not this shit.

  • is this based on its movie?

  • actually its based on the book. This game released a long time ago (1995-96) fot the Snes.

  • Well, the character's pictures were taken from Ralph Bakshi's animated version. So, let's say is a game based in that movie.

  • @Chilavert2010 It was 1994

  • @sneskid9885 haha you think tought dont you?

  • The only thing that kept me from finishing this game was the poor gameplay. If it was more like a traditional RPG, then some of the problems would have been eliminated. I loved the music, though!

  • Oh my...I once played this on an old Nintendo player, years ago. It was kind of fun, kind of hard, and kind of annoying. I wouldn't mind trying it again, but I wish it went beyond killing the balrog.

  • omfg i remember this game, its downstairs!! im gonna go play it right now!

  • heres some trivia for you the intro music is based on earlier work done by mostly autumn,

  • D'you know where I can get the intro music on mp3 or something?

  • mate im not sure but you could try some torrent sites like demonoid or torrentspy

  • Thanx dude
