Memories of Midtown - Midtown Plaza - WXXI, Part 1

I have fond memories of going to see Santa on "his" mountain and riding the monorail between the ages of 4 to 7 ('77-'80). My late father worked for Chase Bank in the tower downtown and my family would sometimes drive and wait for him below the Skyway for him to come out and take him home.

If I remember correctly, Fabio Puello stated in an email to me that he was looking for old footage of Midtown Plaza. I only purchased a DVD because of the nostalgia and I am in it shooting footage for my documentary.

I wonder how many people bought $75.00 and $120.00 DVDs? I had an idea one year ago to produce a documentary on Midtown Plaza. While WXXI´s version was different and a lot pricier, they emphasized too much on Midtown´s humble beginnings. Being born in 1985, I was never around for any of that. My very first shopping mall Christmas was spent at Midtown Plaza in 1988. I even rode our Monorail and sat on Santa´s lap. Seeing Midtown through all of its 46 years would have been nice.
