  • Not one penny that you pay in federal income tax goes to the Government....It all goes to the Federal reserve.

    Something to think about people.

  • @codemeth And what all of those things have in common here in America? They all SUCK, and are getting worse!

  • ALYONA,

You are beautiful and intelligent. Regardless of taxes, SPENDING determines who benefits, which explains the disparity in your charts. The US government prioritizes more on militarism rather than social welfare. As a result we can bomb the sh*t out of anyone while our populations are broke and homeless.

I'd rather have 0% taxes and decide for myself how improve my own standard of living.

  • Swede´s have most second homes in the world by capita!

Mine is in Finland´s arcepelago w. beachfront propety .

That ain´t bad for us middleclass family´s

I´ll never have to to be homeless or belong to the motel generation or living in a trailer ..like so many does in the USA.. with our healtcare

We never looses homes cuz of not being able to pay our medical bill´s

    Sweden & Finland Rules

  • @MissMelodia4U don't forget Norway, we beat you on the UN's Human Development Index, median income, and have about the same GINI coefficient. Though you have way better roads than us :(

For this type of comparisons of countries, the differences in scandinavia are small enough that you can average it as a socio-political and economical zone when comparing to the rest of the world.

The biggest win for scandinavia is our industry ethics and mixed market economies.

  • @gulllars I love Norway and the Nowegian people but I don´t have a house there...yet ;)

While I was living in Manhattan ( had my own company) Sadly people voted for EU

I wanted and still want a SU = Scandinavian Eunion !

Scandinavian are the most rational people on Earth

Norway show the world this summer how to handle horrific homegrown terror .

RESPECT, LOVE & PEACE Norway from Sweden/Finland

  • @MissMelodia4U i'm opposed to the EU because i think the cultural differences in the expanded version (with eastern and southern countries) is too great and hard to manage, and the recent financial problems have only strenghtened my position.

I too am in favour of a Scandinavian Union, or a Nordic Union (including iceland, finland, and the small islands).

Respect and love from Norway too :)

  • How is that places like Germany, China and India, who have comparable tax rates to that of the U.S., and in many cases higher, are producing more innovation and a greater educated population than the United States is now, if our modest tax rates, or the ones being propose by the Obama administration, were that restrictive on growth? This is one of the biggest myths the GOP loves to peddle. The only GOP myth that is bigger than this is the fact that Jesus will solve all our problems.

  • @alphacause The us spends a huge proportion of its money on defense oh I mean world conquest budget..

  • Sweden, yay

  • The thing is rich people in these other countries can move to a tax haven if they dont want to pay high taxes, americans cannot do that they are taxed regardless.

  • @flake452 total bullshit.

  • @Thrashaero facts go look it up.

  • @flake452 oh the irony. if you followed your own advice, you'd realize what you just said was total bullshit. there are plenty of rich/corporations in America that get away with tax havens, and otherwise not paying taxes at all. pull your head out of your ass.

  • @Thrashaero Yes they can illegally stash their money in offshore accounts, yes the can own shell companies in offshore juristrictions but they cannot live in a tax haven and pay no tax, they are required to pay income tax regardless of residence.

  • @flake452 'they are required'....ostensibly....in reality, no. what difference does it make when whatever the law says isn't exactly enforced as it would be for you and me?

  • @Thrashaero How come tax havens rarely have american citizens then, if Americans move to a tax haven and stop paying tax they will get arrested.

  • If Americans need proof that cutting taxes particularly for the rich, totally deregulating the economy, slashing expenditure on public services such as health and education, and all those other policies advocated by the MSM and the GOP works they only have to look at New Zealand's woeful socio-economic situation, especially since 2008, where these policies have been a fact of life for three decades. We've only avoided revolution because we export much of our unemployed to Australia.

  • @codemeth You don't understand that taxation is theft? I guess I can't help you, then.

  • @codemeth I didn't hear it on Fox News, dumb ass, I heard from my boss, when he laid us all off!

  • Im sorry, she is just so fine. Hard for me to pay attention to what shes saying.

  • In those high tax rate countries, there is no incentive to work hard or bust your butt to get ahead!

  • @derekox If you go to Europe you'll see kids want to be doctors, engineers ect almost all people become highly skilled..

  • I'm in Sweden. Swedish unemployment figures are severely compromised due to creative math.

  • lol Alyona it's not a b.s. argument and comparing countries with that are the size of 5 states with a combined population of what, 100 million to a country of 300+ million with people from all different backgrounds, points of view, etc?

    Come on Alyona : )

  • If you want to achieve the American dream...move to Denmark!
