Many high energy bands are better live than on recordings. Something about the energy of the crowd drawing out the best from the performers. Great Big Sea is another perfect example. They put out good albums, but theres nothing like listening to them getting several thousands of people to sing along with them to all their classic tunes and random others thrown in for fun like Bohemien rhapsody

Streetlight is one of those awesome bands that you go to see live, and when you get back home and try to listen to the album you go "What the hell?" Because the live show was so good that the recording sounds like shit.

Yes. Their first album is most certainly like that. And obviously, the live show is almost always going to be better than the album.

This is one of the only songs that I can still listen to after seeing them on the Warped tour. And then there's "Would you Be Impressed?" which has the most epic music video on the face of the planet (With the exception of maybe the Treadmill video by OK Go).

Streetlight is amazing. 'Nuff said.

Obviously the live show is almost always going to be better than the album? No way, dude, it completely depends on the band, most studio albums are gonna sound better than a live band. Nothing can replace the experience of a good show, but typically, the studio version is gonna sound better, not the other way around.

Oh, my friend. I have Somewhere in the Between on perfect condition vinyl, with a good turntable and through a great sound system. There is no denying that the album is absolutely fantastic. But my point is not the say that the album sucks, only that it pales in comparison to the pure perfectitude (I don't think that's a word) of their live show. No matter what sound system you've got, Streetlight just doesn't sound better on record than they do live.
