  • Slight of hand. I myself can do some card tricks but I am not very good. I am more of the kind of guy that likes to watch them and find others who are worse and ask them questions. I wait for the people who say "a true magician never reveals his secrets." to me. When that day comes I reveal his secret. But I tell only him. I do know the code. Never tell the public. Sometimes other magicians. But none the less great trick

  • nice one

  • @TheJoetebb

Thank you for your comment. ^__^

  • Nicely done, very nice little trick

  • It appears I also have a bad stutter....or a poor understanding of the new Youtube commenting system. Sorry about that!

  • @aclose

No problem, man (I struggle with it too).

If you wish I can simply delete one of the two comments.

Let me know which one you want to keep. ^__^

Oh, and good luck with your recording, I'll look forward to see you in action!

  • Simple yet, elegant. I am impressed.

  • @Gladrius

Thank you very much for your kind comment.

Unfortunately the performance is not that good. ^__^U

  • Just ordered a yellow and green bike deck and plan on learning this. What a trick, and really well presented too! Thanks!

  • @aclose Thank you very much!

You'll need a bit of work to make the needed cards out of a yellow and black decks, though. ^__^

  • @Wis76 The gaffs are made (i'm using red, blue, yellow and green bikes), the trick is learned, all I need to do now is get off my lazy arse and film it....watch this space!

  • @Wis76 The gaffs are made (i'm using red, blue, green and yellow bikes, with an assortment deck I had kicking about for the other bits needed), the trick is learned, and now all I have to do is get off my lazy arse and film the thing!

  • just pull the stickers off and you're done :D

  • @CounterNerd LOL ^_____^

  • woow

  • @spicyyy1

    Thanks! ^___^

  • Jerry Sadowitz has been banned from mainstream television for years - and now it appears that youtube have followed suit. His comedy is VERY risky and some may say very offensive. I think he's as funny as fuck. He played London this week - first time in 5 years. Had a ticket but couldn't make it. Damn.

  • is there anywhere i can find out more about Jerry Sadowitz? i can't find footage of his standup routines anywhere...i saw a 20 second clip once on a camcorder in a friends house, and it was amazing and powerful stuff- his comedy that is...i didn't even know he done magic- but trying to find out anything online- except for the bit on wikipedia is a nightmare. Its fucking disgraceful- the guy could be the new lenny bruce

  • Unfortunately he does not want any of his material to be out on the net.

  • @c64c64c64 Jerry Sadowitz is not only a brilliant comedian but perhaps one of the greatest sleight of hand artists to live. That is no understatement when you see his huge body of work in the field of card magic. Unfortunately his work is not easy to get hold off (not without his permission anyways)! He has contributed many effects to various publications, even if you are not a fan of his comedy its definitly worth watching him live to be in with a chance to see him perform a card effect

  • nice, not the "most"

  • Of course.

    It' a hyperbole. ^__^

  • any chance of a tutorial?

  • You can find all the needed info in "Card Zones" by Duffie & Sadowitz.

  • Very slick, rubbish music though mate, sounds like we are just about to watch a bob ross painting

  • Thanks for your comment.

I actually think "For my Father" is a great composition.

  • rubbish music?

    philistine.

search andy mckee and watch how its created.

  • cracking trick! nice one!

  • Thank you very much! ^__^

  • the elmsley could use a little work but all in all, good trick! well done. 4/5.

  • Thank you for your comment!

Please read the comment to find out why I struggle a bit with the EC. ^__^

  • andy mckee

  • Yep. ^___^

  • that was pretty awesome for the first minute i couldnt see where it was going then you pulled off right at the end there nice work.

  • Thank you for your nice comment. ^__^

  • awesome you did a great job amazing trick

  • Thanks!

  • Great Trick and awesome performance even when you do it with that cards that makes the handling harder 5/5

  • Thank you very much!

  • looking for sadowitz stand up and found a great bit of close up card trick. Dont know about "stiffy handling" though......... only kidding, good stuff

  • Lol. ^___^

    Thank you very much.

  • the elmsleys need some more work. Otherwise it's good.

  • Thank you for your comment.

Hope you have read the video description, the stiffy handling is explained there. ^__^

  • Yeah I know the feeling, that's how I practiced it at first. But still it an be a bit better. Not talking about stiff really... :)

  • It was my first attempt at doing the cards. They resulted too rough even for a normal count, let alone any other more complex move.

And yes, maybe I should not have talked about stiffyness... ^_____^U

  • Found this looking for Sadowitz stand-up vids. Not the sharpest handling (I read the description though), but a very nice little trick indeed.

  • Thank you phantomjordan. ^__^

  • Nice Trick

  • It's very kind of you to answer all comments :D

  • It's a pleasure. ^__^

  • Thats pretty awesome mate well done.

  • dude that was wonderful great job 5\5.

  • Thank you very much for your kind comment. ^__^

  • lovely acoustic guitar. any idea of the artist? thanking you.

  • "For my Father" BY Andy McKee.

    ^__^

  • Oh, I missed the last part of your description. I read most of it, but apparently not that.

  • No problem at all. I really wish to thank you for your kind comment.

  • It's a nice trick, but you do need to work on your counts. Keep it up.

  • Thank you, but you do need to read the description. ^____^

  • 5 stars

  • Thank you man. ^__^

  • Nice performance 4 stars

  • Thank you very much. ^__^

  • Nice, no Sadowitz vids on YT tho that I can find. He seems to be ultra self-critical - think he blocks most of his shows from being released on DVD or posted on the net himself!

  • simple and obvious

  • I don't know what you mean by "obvious", but if you mean that anyone could guess how this works I can only tell that I could not replicate the whole effect without the proper source (and I bet there will be very few who could do it). Laymen can't even workout one change, let alone four. They simply have not a clue of what's going on. ^____^

Anyway I agree, it's fairly simple. And beautiful IMHO.

  • Beautiful music, visually interesting effect,( reminds me of (Gypsy Curse without the music or different backed cards even wild card for thta sake.)

    Peace

  • Thank you very much for your kind comment. =)

  • Is that Don Ross music in the background?

  • The song is Andy McKee's "For my Father". =)

  • Need to practice the elmsley count, but not bad

  • Thank you, but did you read the description?

    Pace

  • Click on my Username for some JS!

  • Figurati, grazie a te. =)

  • stupendo!

  • Grazie! =)

  • The sharpest wit i've ever seen, live, Edinburgh fringe 2008. I have the 80's DVD and the 87 "gobshite" CD. I have to say he ages like wine. MUCH better than ever before and fuck me his tricks keep us mere apes in gobsmacked awe. For amazing tricks though, another amazing shoe was Stewart & Barry. Water to wine& a bowling ball falling out of a map. Yes, the wine was tasted, it was real.

  • Gerry Sadowitz is a genius. Simple as. One of the best close-up card magicians in the world and a razor sharp comic well ahead of his time. Too dangerous for TV sadly. Google his 'Total Abuse' show and enjoy.

  • I've met him. He's shy and sweet. His comedy is as dazzling as his slight of hand. Genius. End of.

  • Well, All's Well That Ends Well. =D

  • I love the effect. I've only just found out about Sadowitz as one of the most prominent influencers of Derren Brown's card work along with Lennart Green. Good work

  • Yep, Sadowitz is a great magician. Too bad I heard is too full of himself. I still hope this is not true, though the sources are fairly trustworthy.

  • His style of humour is very offensive and he certainly doesn't care much for being polite but, hey, he was brought up in Glasgow :-)

  • 5 STAR *****

  • nice trick

  • Never seen this trick before, awesome, your performance was great too.

  • Thank you very much. =)

  • very nice trick. try to get your breaks more smothly, although i know in real life you can have more misdirection with patter. Oh one last thing, at the very end, instead of using continuous 'thru the fist flurishes', try using boris wild's kiss count. very handy slight. keep on the good work !

  • Thank you very much for your kind comments and advices! =)

  • Whos the great guitarist playing???

  • The song is Andy McKee's "For my Father". =)

  • Thank you...I checked him out hes amazing..

  • Yep, he's really talented and his harmonic taste is marvelous.

  • i think jerry hates the fact everyone steals his tricks, get it off.

  • And Jerry would be? =°

  • If you are referring to Jerry Sadowitz, then why does a man that hates his material performed by others put it into books and his very own magazine? Mr. Sadowitz is a very sad individual that really needs to get a girlfriend and lose summin!

  • Oh, if it is so: first of all I have Card Zones, and by having it I have a sorta right to use the tricks in it. Second: the trick is Peter Duffie's trick, not Sadowitz's, and I asked his permission to put Bedazzled and Downfall on Youtube. He has seen the videos and, as a really kind person as he is, he gave me permission to put them on Youtube.

So, what's the point in your comment?

  • Sadowitz isn't without his foibles and flaws, but then we all are. He is however one of the greatest living card magicians I'm sure your commentary will have him chastised into never leaving the house again..

  • I'm talking from 30 years experience of working for laymen in the real World. Take my advice; laymen don't care a toss whether cards turn face up, face down, change fronts, backs or whatever. You can practise until eternity performing every known sleight known to man and you will get a "oh thats's nice" attitude from laymen.

However, do something basic like sticking their card to the ceiling - and you will be deemed a F***ing Card Genius!

  • Wis - what you did, you did well enough.

However, can I offer some honest advice? Stay clear of this type of card magic - it's magic for magicians and has no commercial value whatsoever - the plot is laborious, predictable and quite boring (as is most of Peter Duffie's stuff IMHO).

  • I'm sure you have a point here. And I'm absolutely nobody to say you're wrong.

But I'm not a magician and I practice only in my little spare time. So I "don't care a toss" if laymen "don't care a toss". =D

I just practice what I like and what I know I'll be able to handle sooner or later (and that would be card magic only, because I'm only interested in this kind of art).

I'd like to thank very much for your comment and I'm very happy you think I did well regarding this performance. =)

  • Fair play to ya fella.

Yep you did put the effect over very well and maybe I'm bitter having spent bloody years practising this type of card magic to find out that it's not needed commercially.

Look mate what you do, you do very well and good luck Wis. But never be held back from showing laymen; magic does put a smile on people's faces and can cheer folk up against the backdrop of the problems and dissapointments we all suffer in our everyday lives. You've got the talent - so show it !

  • Thank you very much for your kind words.

Good luck to you too, Sir. =)

  • What's the song in the background?

  • The insanely beautiful Andy McKee's "For my Father".

  • Good trick, but why are you moving the fingers that much when you do the counts?

  • It's explainded in the description: "I've personally made the cards you saw in the video, and they're in part responsible for the stiffy handling: they're my first attempt in doing some cards, and they don't actually feel like proper cards, so it's a bit difficult at times."

Thank you for your comment. =)

  • slightly to slow as the counts show abit.

  • I don't think it has something to do with being slow. You can do the count very slowly and it still looks awesome.

The reason for the stiffy handling is, as I wrote in the comment, the stickyness of the selfmade cards.

    Thank you for your comment.

  • yea sorry, i never read your comment till after i placed my comment. the trick looked good and i am no card ace myself , but i always think with fake counts, you should do em quick, specialy if your focusing a cam right on the cards. good trick, though and yea cards did look stiff.

  • No problem, man.

I usually do the count faster that this, although I prefer a smooth and flawless count over an insanely fast one. =)

  • False counts don't have to be fastas long as they look natural. I count my cards slow and it looks much better. I always think fast counts look as if you are trying to hide something. Which is exactly what you are doing. Dai Vernon said every handling should look natural.

  • complimenti veramente :D

    ottima pure la canzone

se nn sbaglio e' di andy mkee

    credo ^^

    comq bellissimo =)

  • Grazie!

Sì, la canzone è "For my Father" di Andy McKee. Splendida, a mio avviso.

Devo decidermi a mettere i titoli delle canzoni in coda ai video. =)

  • kool trick

    nice job

  • Buon lavoro Wis!

  • Grazie, è uno dei miei trucchi preferiti. =)

  • great job. just caught a little glimpse on some of the counts. either than that, nice performance.

    -SFu

  • You're absolutely right. The problem is the cards, although I used a spray film on them, have hardly the smooth surface they should have, and tend to stick together.

You don't know how much practice I've put into doing that count with THOSE cards...

The time I'll learn to finish the surface of a selfmade card properly maybe I'll redo the effect, but for now I'm pretty satisfied with the achieved result.

Thank you for your kind comment. ^___^

  • nicely done!

  • I'm honored that you wished to say so.

    Thank you very much!
