Through Wi-Fi no, but you have to get a Data Plan in order to buy the phone. Which runs you about $30-40 a month, unless you get Unlimited Everything through Sprint, which costs $99 a month.

I highly doubt that the iPhone will be getting Flash anytime soon because they would lose a ton of money. you can play games FOR FREE on flash rather than buying an app for it!

Both phones are great but its hard to compare when the iPhone is in its THIRD generation while this is Pre's first! IMO, the multitasking on Pre is enough for it to win over the iPhone anyday. I am confident that the next generation Pre will take all criticisms into consideration and address them just as Apple has.

not a bad substitute. I've been an iphone user for two years, but there isn't anything that excites me and makes me want to switch as quickly. At&t would be the only thing that would want me to change. At&t is an awful provider and i'm constantly finding it to be an issue. to whomever is choosing between the pre and the iphone. id say iphone. much more solid os and at&t should catch up soon. the pre still has a lot to prove.

its really not ugly at all my mom has one and it looks really nice.better than the iphone in my opinion.i like the iphone but its like a little thin brick in ur pocket and i hate holdin it up to my ear cuz it feels like im holdin a ipod to my ear or somethin.just a awkward feelin to me. but the pre is a cute little phone.i wasnt sure about it at first but when i held it in my hand it looked alot better than it does in videos and pictures

Great review. I have the Pre myself and have to say I'm glad I stuck with Sprint. Not only do I have the best phone on the market, I also pay much less than Verizon and AT&T customers and my coverage is just as good as Verizon's. And when I don't get a signal, Sprint lets me roam free on Verizon's awesome network. But that scarcely happens. Life is good with Pre.

I saw a Doc Viewer in there - I'm thinking they ported Documents2Go from the earlier Palm devices. Though I don't know that for a fact, but I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case.

Nice review man , and nice device too . The software looks good and performs well . However I don't like the hardware also there is no video recording , but still for their first web os they delivered more than apple did .And I think palm may put more things with upcoming updates .

It's impossible to please everyone. And iPhone was meant to be a consumer smartphone, and it really was the first smartphone to appeal to consumers. They didn't include all of the features that standard smartphones may have because they didn't want to overcomplicate it right away and have a shitty end-user experience (which is what Apple is all about, the user experience).

Flash on phones sucks I don't know why people want it so bad. It's terrible! It's almost useless.

I use to think flash on phones sucks too , because it makes the browser very slow , but now I want it because some web sites I visit uses flash content , and these videos are not on youtube . And I really don't know how forwarding option would complicate the user experience , to me I think the os3.0 should have been released a while ago .

Yeah forwarding was kind of a given but I really don't think many people honestly use forwarding enough to care.. I've never wanted to forward anything. I've never wanted to copy and paste either until I got 3.0 and now I try and copy and paste everything just because I can :P

Also the flash scenario isn't entirely Apple's fault.. They've been working with Adobe to try and make a solution but Adobe hasn't been able to come up with anything.

with the exception of the tech flaw with the battery, the pre is awesome. It breaks so many rules and pulls so many things together in a way never even conceived of on any device (portable or not)! And to think, you could just throw it away, buy a new one, and not loose a single bit of information! This phone has the most bomb integration of social networking and other information, organized in the most logical way. I am way sold

About the flash its ready , but apple didn't approve it they said that the cpu wont be able to run it the way that apple wants , but it would be great if apple gave you the chance to enable it or not .And true you don't use forwarding all the time , but when you need it you will say I wish if.... !!! .

I got it when it leaked a few days ago and GM IS the final one. It was just released to developers ahead of the full iTunes release.

GM isn't a "beta 6" or something. It is the exact same as the final version which will be available on iTunes today. And I could still get that one if I wanted so waiting would've accomplished nothing :P

I haven't noticed any bugs at all, but the 3.0 released through iTunes can have bugs too. No initial firmware is without bugs. 2.0 had bugs, 1.0 had bugs, 3.0 will have bugs for SURE. But I haven't noticed any at all.

iPhone was the first phone with that form factor to become popular. If iPhone never existed do you really think that form factor would be as wide-spread as it is now? NO it definitely would not. Furthermore, LG did TRY to sue Apple for copying their design but only because they thought they could make big money for it, and it was found that Apple did not copy their design.

The iPhone was rumored since 2002, with the density of the rumors really picking up in 2004, and many of the rumors as far back as 2004 actually held true in the release of the device, what does that tell you? Apple had been designing the iPhone for YEARS before it was released.

Anyway, the iPhone was also the first to have a proximity sensor, ambient-light sensor, and an accelerometer in one device.

iPhone was the first phone to be controlled by a large CAPACITIVE touch screen, which makes a huge difference, obviously sparked a huge trend after companies realized they can't copy the iPhone with el cheapo pressure-sensitive screens.

What I'm saying here is that Apple had a LOT to do with the state of the smartphone, it's undeniable the influence the iPhone had over all other smartphone platforms.

I LOVE the Palm Pre, but you know as well as I that without the iPhone it would not exist.
