You much not have watched the superbowl that year cuz it was not Holmgren that blew the game, it was the refs. There were bullshit calls during that game that were made by the refs, not Holmgren
On the contrary, I was watching that game and I've watched it a few more times too. It couldn't be more clear that Holmgren abandoned the short passing game to try to get long, low percentage pass plays, poor clock management. He left his team in the position to have to score on long field goal attempts, 2 of which were misses. You can't blame that on the refs. When you get taken away from your game plan by a 2 score lead, you're a poor coach who choked.
Why the hell do (steal)er fans even watch seahawk videos? Are they just coming to gloat that they had the refs in their pockets? I think sooo. Uh, did you ever watch a Seahawks game the last two years with Alexander? He was terrible, trust me. We had no choice but to let him go and every single Seattle fan is glad we did. Oh yeah, so far this year Alexander has 11 carries for 24 yards. Seattle's gm is the man, so get your facts straight before you open your mouth about things you know nothing about.
there were some bullshit calls, and to everyone that thinks thst the refs did a good job u all know that ben rothlesburg or however u spell his name, that touchdown was bullshit!!!!
Matt wasted 33 secs at the end of the first half, Josh would have made a Field Goal at shorter didtance had we just kept moving in.
Some of Stevens drops he was hit but no one touched him in the 3rd inside the 10 when he dropped one that would have set us up deep.
We lost and who knows, the way they kept pulling plays out of their asses when they needed them most, who says had the refs been beeter that they wouldn't have made a few more?
The only bad call in that game was on Herndons INT return. There was an illegal block in the back. No flag was thrown. Except for that, the game was properly officiated.
Please. Offensive pass interference in the end zone? That was the worst call of all time. Big Ben did not get into the end zone either, and don't tell me they would have just punched it in on the next play. We could just as easily have stood them up so don't give me that garbage.

That game was properly officiated. But i will admit this: The low block call on Hasselbeck on Ike Taylors INT was a bad call. other than that, the games officiating was fine.

There have been other SB's where the loser has outgained in yardage the winner, XXX, and XXXVI, and where the winner has had more turnovers, XIV, and where the winner had more pealty yardage or Penalties, IX, XII, XXXV.
One of Pitt's penalties negated a plus yardage gain of Jerome Bettis on a screen.
If the refs were for Pittsburgh they didn't show it by taking away a Detroit's own JB near first down or by and they didn't call the block in the back on by Fisher on Ben during the int return.
heres a stat for you steelers fans, the seahawks are the only team ever to have more offensive tards than the other team and lose a superbowl, and i think we all know why they lost.. (MONEY) caugh caugh
In SB XL The CRy Hawks were 5 of 17 on 3rd down, dropped 5 balls, had the worse clock management in SB History, missed 2 FGs, had the NFL MVP held under 100 yds., got sacked three times and gave up three of the biggest plays in SB history.
Pittsburgh got their 21 points again in the rematch and Seattle got Zero and Ben wasn't nervous this time.
Darrel Jackson "Gained Seperation", Shawn Locklere "Impeaded the Route to the QB with a Hook"
Ben "Crossed the plane while Air Borne"
And regardless intent,
Hasselback "Went Low on a blocker" Seattle was caught trying to cheat.
If Seattle is so Good then why did they give up the longest run in SB histroy, the only TD in SB history thrown by a WR and a 37 yd gain on 3rd and 28?
the reason that there was the longest run is super bowl history was because the TE was basically tackling the DE, so, watch it again and then try to argue about you're so called "Special Knowledge of the Super Bowl".
On the Flip side, this season I don't expect Seattle to do very well, 10-6 if we get lucky to answer the "game" that they played against the Steelers.
because i know the game of football, not a whole lot of people can say that now can they, im not pointing any fingers here, but look it up, watch, and then try to overcome your "Big Bad" Stealer attitude.
Write back to me when you can actually say something worthwhile buddy, ok.
Tough loss..too bad they didn't have the ultimate sports guy on their team! We would have totally kicked the steelers ass! Check out my behind the glory video to see for yourself

ya rite they suck well see the steelers r filthy cheaters if u dobnt belive that then ur retarted there gonna go down as the cheaters as of superbowl 40 forever, ben rothlesburger had a 28.? in the superbowl, that shows the refs were siding with them its so fucking obvious, its karma that they suck so bad now
COME TO SEATTLE AND GET a .38 put to ur dome homie. LET ME BE MORE SPECIFIC, COME TO the SOUFEND of SEATTLE AND GET CLAPED PATNA!!!!!!!!! U can say all that on the internet u pussy!!!!!!!!!
Just saw the preview to "Perfect Effort" about De La Salle's 12 year winning streak. It looks like a pretty inspirational movie. Search for it on youtube or it's website perfecteffort (dot) com
I'm more of a Steelers fan (been forever), but the Seattle Seahawks aren't bad, I like them a lot to. Also like the Packers because I'm a Cheeseland native.
the only things everyone can agree on is the superbowl XL was rigged and Seahawks should have one that. Jerome Bettis probably gave his life savings to the reffs
Learn the NFL Rule Book before you cry a river. You are not allowed to push off to score TDs or pull LBs to the ground to get gains to the one.
The tip of the goal line is the white chalk not the green.
the ChokeHawks were 5 of 17 on 3rd down and gave up 3 of the biggenst plays in SB History, not to mention had crappy clock management, missed 2 FGs and dropped 5 balls.
the superbowl was bull shit even with out the big ben td it would've been 14-10 but the offensive pi bull shit it was a td by d jack then the catch he had at the 2 was inbounced the steelers clearly didn't deserve to make it ask anyone that watched isn't a hakw or steelers fan and knows football that game was bull shit the steelers are the gayest team in the nfl
You obviously don'tknow the defenitions to the calls in the NFL Rule Book.
D. Jack pushed off with a fully extended arm and push Hope off his feet and gained leveragr to get oveer to the ball as quickly as he did, otherwise why did he push him at all?
Locklere pulled Haggins to the Groun before HAsselback got sacked.
If Seattle is so great then why did their vertical game suck and their d give up three of the biggest plays in SB History?
ok buddy yeah extended arms my ass look at the vid where ever it is anyways big fags td never broke the plane and anyways it was the most lopsided sb ever and all they could do was talk about bettis's exiting and they made it look as if they already won the sb before it even started. big chin bill's gone, cocklisburgere sucks , porter's gone and the steelers are going down mark my words steelers are going down, hawks fly high
The penalties both on 1st down and they got the down back kicked a FG and threw a pick.
If they have to push off to catch a pass and pull down a LB to prevent a sack that's their problem.
If a DB does the same thing it's a flag all day. Ben did move it closer than it origianlly was, and Cowher was recorded on the sideline as saying he was gonna go for it. The Hawks were 5 0f 17 on 3rd down, and if Ben puts more air under his pass that was picked it's 21-3 in the thrid and a 28-3.
If Ben puts more air under the ball to Cedrick Wilson, it's 21-3 in the 3rd and a 28-3 final because your TD was set up off the pick.
Ben got blocked in the back on the int return which would have placed the ball 15 yards back from the spot of the foul which would have started your TD drive at the Hawk 45 and not the Pitt 20.
The refs also picked a flag up thrown on Seattle which was a non reviewable penalty and blew the whistle on a fumble.
ok if we didnt get that bs pi it would 've been a 4 point game and taking away big bens td run? it would be us up by 3 and also that holding call, no it wasn't and we thre a pick after it because it completely killed our momentumn. anyways if you thunk the superbowl was 100% fair check your thoughts. the refs penalty flags were made from the terrible towel thats why they were testing them out so much. After the gae like a week later the refs even said they didnt make the best calls.
IN SB XII Dallas was flagged 11 times and still won, In XXXV Baltimore was flagged 9 times and still won.
In IX Pittsburgh was flagged for 130 yards and still won.
Hawks were flagged in XL 7 times for 70 yards, not even close to the record for times or yardsand they still loss. I guess the Refs made them miss 2fgs, the NFL MVP fall short of 100 yards,Stephens drop 4 passes, go 5 of 17 on 3rd down and give up 3 of the biggest plays in SB History.
Read the NFL Rule Book, it's on line Dumb Ass! How is it a BS PI call when D. Jack fully extends his arm and his entire momentum chnages and the DB leaves his feet. If a DB does the same thing it's a flag all day.
Locklere pulls on Haggins jersey and that's after he gives him hands to the face, then hooks him to the ground. THe tip of Ben's ball can be freeze framed over the plane.
You don't need to lie and say the Refs said they didn't officiate well. That is simply not true.
As a matter of fact when the refs went to the Hawks scrimmage in '06 they told the fans that were crying that the calls were by the book and every ref in the league would make the same calls.
Even the VP of officials, Mike Piera sais there should be no crying beacuse he would have down graded the refs if they hadn't made the calls.
do you really spend all this time going and commenting on something that doesnt have alot to do with what your talking about, this video is about us making the sb not complaining about or talking about the game just the fact we made it. any ways the penaltys the hawks "had" had nothing to do with the yards it was the down they were left on which forced them to call the plays which of course didn't work. and the only thing i saw cross that line was of cocklisbergers vagina.
The down you were left on? D. Jacks Pass interference and Locklere's hold were both on first and 10, after a penalty, you lose yardage but get the down back, unless it's intentional grounding or illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage.
That made both plays 1st and 20 after the call, not 2nd or 3rd and 10.
The only reason I strated posting was because of the comments made by others, you probably weren't one of the origianl winners.
exactly they were on first if those bad penalties werent called we would've chosen a diffrent play for both of them anyways they were in the redzone so we porbably woulda just scored with alexander and why don't you post comments on videos of the final product like a superbowl highlight reel or something like that
Again you assume they are bad calls. They are bad clls if you are a Seattle fan because they hurt your team. You can't honestly say D.Jack didn't push off and that Locklere didn't hold.
If Jack dosesnt push he doesn't catch the ball,a nd if Locklere dosent hold Hasselback gets sacked, that's the point of the flags.
ask anyone who knows a good amount of football that isn't a seattle of pittsburgh fan they mights have a diffrent oppinion and d jack had the ball to th right of him, the db was to the left and what about the long third down were djack caught it at like the 3yrd line madden and michaels were even saying those were some bad calls and i don't what you think but i think they might know a little about football
I'll admit, most of those calls happened when both are going up fo the ball and the WR pushes off to get higher than the DB. When thos are made, ususlly the WR pnly extends two arms half way.
What D. Jack did was extend one arm all they way and then pushed his body towards the ball.He used the body of the DB as leverage to get more quickly to the pall, soirt of like kicking off with one foot on the wall of a poll to get to the middle of the water.
When D. JAck caught the deep ball he was clearly out of bounds, mainly because he ran his route too close to the side line, he did it again on that same drive a few plays later and caught another deep one out of bounds.
I meant to say kick off the wall of a pool. If Chris Hope, The DB would have been on the side D. Jack was and Hasselback threw a bad pass that was closer to the DB than the WR, but the DB fully extended his arm and pushed of on Jackson to move over quickly to the more and made and interception, it would ahve peen Defensive pass intereferene, even though the WR was in no position to make the play, the DB would have used the body of the WR to gain an extra advantage towards the body.
No flag was thrown when Ben was seriously blocked in the back during the int return which would have put the ball back 15 yards from the spot of the foul at Hawks 45 instead of Pitt 20.
Refs picked up a flag against Hawks on a non reviewable call for helmet to helmet.
No one remembers the last play of the 1st quarter when N. Washington was held up and interfered with by the Hawk DB on a deep pass.
Big plays win big games, When you can't prevent a Whopping 75 yard TD Run, and huge 43 yard yard TD pass on a gadget play or a massive 3rd down and 28 for a 37 freakin' yards, then you ought to be bitchin' about that.
When your team has NO vertical game, is 5 of 17 on 3rd down, drops 5 balls, misses 2 FGs and let's 33 seconds run off the clock before deciding on wha tplay to call, more stuff to bitch about besides Refs going by the book, which they did.
Madden hates Pitt,he coachd Pitt in the '70's and lost 2 AFC title games and a div round to us on Immaculate Reception, he still cries about it
He said he didn't see the hold, he didn't say it was a bad call, P I too ,he said it's not the TYPE you usually see. Michales said only the post possesion low block was a bad call. I have the game on DVD.
VP of officials broke the calls down by the defenition on NFL Network and said they were good calls.
Pitt overcame worse calls against the Colts. Randel El was tackled while going deep, no flag, the entire broadcast booth at halftime complained about it. Refs make up a rule called the "Do OVer' when the Colts made contact with the Steelers on a 4th and 1, all becasue they weren't sure who jumped first, and the Polamalu pick that was overturned when replay showed he possessd the ball forever and made 3 football moves.
We still won and the NFL did apologize for those calls.
what about al michaels he knows alot of football and madden doesn't play favorsthe vp officials aren't gonna admit their wrong anyways, and anyways those bad calls you guys might have had didnt cot you a superbowl and the nfl slightly apologized for the superbull shit
Some crews may not have called them becasue they don't happend right in front of the official.
These calls did happened right in front, that's the difference between the teams that get away and the ones that don't.
The refs don't throw flags a s a rsponse to what the offense accomplished, they throw they have it set in their mind to thow it based on the penalty witnessed before the play is completed.
Al Michales only said the Low Block on Hasselback was a bad call, and that was post possession, after the Ike taylor Inteception, and actually the rule book states that you can't go low on any player during a change of possession, so even he was wrong and the refes were right again.
The Book also states you can not hook a player which Lockler did, and it states a receiver can not push off the defender past 5 yards while the ball is in the air.
He gained leverage and advantage towards the ball. Look at teh feet of the DB Chris Hope, they actually leave the ground from the push, and you can watch Jackson's elbow fully extend and his wrist and hand push away. With out the push he would have never had the leverage, because he was sideways, to get over to the bullet of a pass.
PI is called when arms aren't fully extended either, you can't PUSH at All, Period, past 5 yards.
It's so clear that when the VP of officiating was asked about the calls on NFL Network, he stated that if the offcial wouldn't have called PI he would ahve down graded that official.
When the Refs came to Seattle for a scrimmage in Summer of '06, they took questions from the fans.
They told them they can't understand why they are bothered by that call because every Ref in the league looked at it and said they would call it every time.
so the ref would've been dowbgraed for making the right call. All i'm really saying is that the nfl could've done a better job at finding refs for the superbowl. I mean clearly the penalty flags were brand new and made up entirely of the terrible towle and they just wanted to test the mout at a time that they thought wouldn't really matter and people who are neutral to both teams some would say that those were bad calls
I'm talking real world and your so bitter you're making up childsih crap.
The Refs that officiate the SB are the ones who earned it all year long by having the most accurate success when the call are all replayed at the weekly meeetings. The SB literally has the best possible refs for that season.
Another crew made more mistakes in 'o5 than the one in XL.
Take the time to read the NFL Rule BookDude, seriously, just read it, when your done, get back to me.
You are a spectator, who from time to time needs clarifiaction.
If Ward would does the same thing Jackson did, or our OT does what Locklere did, with no flags you'd be pissed.
No flag was thrown when Ben was blocked in the back during the Int Return.
15 yards back from the spot of the foul starts the drive at their 45 and not Pitts 20, but I guess that's okay if the Ref misses something that helps the Hawks.
bam, are u kidding me? hasselbeck only threw 1 int all game...the reason we lost was holmgren abandoned the run game...alexander had like 5 carries in the 2nd half, when he was averaging nearly 5ypc..
No, I am from Seattle and know full well that I live on the WEST coast! I meant that since Pittsburg is in Pennsylvania which is on the east coast....hence my comment...
man da seahawks shouldve 1 dat b and the steelers 1 o well but it would have been better if the panthers made it instead the only reason they lost was because the qb kept throwin inters man and dats dat
Regardless of how often u whine about ben's TD, (which looked obvious enough to me that the football crossed the plane) a touchdown in american football is worth 6 points followed by an extra point. the final score of the superbowl was 21-10. If big ben's TD is erased the score becomes 14-10. I may be crazy but i still believe that score doesnt favor Seattle therefore u must come up with another desperation excuse for why they lost...
Steelers won the game fair and square, so stop cry little bitches.
Qoute:
'' I've seen the refs calling touchdowns that weren't even as close as this one. He hit the chalkline, it's a touchdown, get over it already. FIVE GOLDEN RINGS BABY OH YEA!!! ''
i made $317 from this site last month . . . . . http://www.treasuretrooper.com/111667 . . . . . . . u get money for filling out surveys, usually around $1 each but they add up. there are also free trials that will get u more than $10 each. the surveys are easy and only take a couple minutes. each month they send u a check in the mail for your earnings. i know there is a lot of spam/crap on the internet, but this site is 100% legit. just a good way to make some cash if u have some extra time
dude that was no touchdown the QB's for Stillers didn't even get his fuking arm over the white line not even his head and his arms were behind his head so the ball couldnt have made it i wanna no how much the coach paid the refs to call that game

Here is a stat for Seattle.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Read the NFL Rule book.
In the Rematch they got their ass whipped again.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
the reason that there was the longest run is super bowl history was because the TE was basically tackling the DE, so, watch it again and then try to argue about you're so called "Special Knowledge of the Super Bowl".
On the Flip side, this season I don't expect Seattle to do very well, 10-6 if we get lucky to answer the "game" that they played against the Steelers.
case211 4 years ago
That is not true, the blocking on the run was text book.
The DE fell after Willie had cleraed.
You are they only person to try and state this and it been almost 2 years.

The Rule Book is on line if you dare to read it.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
the superbowl was bull shit even with out the big ben td it would've been 14-10 but the offensive pi bull shit it was a td by d jack then the catch he had at the 2 was inbounced the steelers clearly didn't deserve to make it ask anyone that watched isn't a hakw or steelers fan and knows football that game was bull shit the steelers are the gayest team in the nfl
seahawks37tds 5 years ago
You obviously don'tknow the defenitions to the calls in the NFL Rule Book.
D. Jack pushed off with a fully extended arm and push Hope off his feet and gained leveragr to get oveer to the ball as quickly as he did, otherwise why did he push him at all?
Locklere pulled Haggins to the Groun before HAsselback got sacked.
If Seattle is so great then why did their vertical game suck and their d give up three of the biggest plays in SB History?
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
ok buddy yeah extended arms my ass look at the vid where ever it is anyways big fags td never broke the plane and anyways it was the most lopsided sb ever and all they could do was talk about bettis's exiting and they made it look as if they already won the sb before it even started. big chin bill's gone, cocklisburgere sucks , porter's gone and the steelers are going down mark my words steelers are going down, hawks fly high
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
The penalties both on 1st down and they got the down back kicked a FG and threw a pick.
If they have to push off to catch a pass and pull down a LB to prevent a sack that's their problem.
If a DB does the same thing it's a flag all day. Ben did move it closer than it origianlly was, and Cowher was recorded on the sideline as saying he was gonna go for it. The Hawks were 5 0f 17 on 3rd down, and if Ben puts more air under his pass that was picked it's 21-3 in the thrid and a 28-3.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
If Ben puts more air under the ball to Cedrick Wilson, it's 21-3 in the 3rd and a 28-3 final because your TD was set up off the pick.
Ben got blocked in the back on the int return which would have placed the ball 15 yards back from the spot of the foul which would have started your TD drive at the Hawk 45 and not the Pitt 20.
The refs also picked a flag up thrown on Seattle which was a non reviewable penalty and blew the whistle on a fumble.
Big Plays win Big games, we made them you didn't.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
ok if we didnt get that bs pi it would 've been a 4 point game and taking away big bens td run? it would be us up by 3 and also that holding call, no it wasn't and we thre a pick after it because it completely killed our momentumn. anyways if you thunk the superbowl was 100% fair check your thoughts. the refs penalty flags were made from the terrible towel thats why they were testing them out so much. After the gae like a week later the refs even said they didnt make the best calls.
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
amost all yout tds were set up from bad calls
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
IN SB XII Dallas was flagged 11 times and still won, In XXXV Baltimore was flagged 9 times and still won.
In IX Pittsburgh was flagged for 130 yards and still won.
Hawks were flagged in XL 7 times for 70 yards, not even close to the record for times or yardsand they still loss. I guess the Refs made them miss 2fgs, the NFL MVP fall short of 100 yards,Stephens drop 4 passes, go 5 of 17 on 3rd down and give up 3 of the biggest plays in SB History.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Read the NFL Rule Book, it's on line Dumb Ass! How is it a BS PI call when D. Jack fully extends his arm and his entire momentum chnages and the DB leaves his feet. If a DB does the same thing it's a flag all day.
Locklere pulls on Haggins jersey and that's after he gives him hands to the face, then hooks him to the ground. THe tip of Ben's ball can be freeze framed over the plane.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Go cry with Holgrem Loser! You guys had to hook the LB and Push of the DB to mkae plays, and Refs aren't blind.
Watch that stuff in slow mo. and read the rule book on holding and Offensive Pass interferece If you dare.
Haggins got "Hooked" and Hope got "Pushed"
I know Seatlle knows nothing about football, but they should learn the defenitions of the rules before they cry.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
You don't need to lie and say the Refs said they didn't officiate well. That is simply not true.
As a matter of fact when the refs went to the Hawks scrimmage in '06 they told the fans that were crying that the calls were by the book and every ref in the league would make the same calls.
Even the VP of officials, Mike Piera sais there should be no crying beacuse he would have down graded the refs if they hadn't made the calls.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
do you really spend all this time going and commenting on something that doesnt have alot to do with what your talking about, this video is about us making the sb not complaining about or talking about the game just the fact we made it. any ways the penaltys the hawks "had" had nothing to do with the yards it was the down they were left on which forced them to call the plays which of course didn't work. and the only thing i saw cross that line was of cocklisbergers vagina.
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
The down you were left on? D. Jacks Pass interference and Locklere's hold were both on first and 10, after a penalty, you lose yardage but get the down back, unless it's intentional grounding or illegal forward pass beyond the line of scrimmage.
That made both plays 1st and 20 after the call, not 2nd or 3rd and 10.
The only reason I strated posting was because of the comments made by others, you probably weren't one of the origianl winners.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
exactly they were on first if those bad penalties werent called we would've chosen a diffrent play for both of them anyways they were in the redzone so we porbably woulda just scored with alexander and why don't you post comments on videos of the final product like a superbowl highlight reel or something like that
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
Again you assume they are bad calls. They are bad clls if you are a Seattle fan because they hurt your team. You can't honestly say D.Jack didn't push off and that Locklere didn't hold.
If Jack dosesnt push he doesn't catch the ball,a nd if Locklere dosent hold Hasselback gets sacked, that's the point of the flags.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
ask anyone who knows a good amount of football that isn't a seattle of pittsburgh fan they mights have a diffrent oppinion and d jack had the ball to th right of him, the db was to the left and what about the long third down were djack caught it at like the 3yrd line madden and michaels were even saying those were some bad calls and i don't what you think but i think they might know a little about football
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
I'll admit, most of those calls happened when both are going up fo the ball and the WR pushes off to get higher than the DB. When thos are made, ususlly the WR pnly extends two arms half way.
What D. Jack did was extend one arm all they way and then pushed his body towards the ball.He used the body of the DB as leverage to get more quickly to the pall, soirt of like kicking off with one foot on the wall of a poll to get to the middle of the water.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
When D. JAck caught the deep ball he was clearly out of bounds, mainly because he ran his route too close to the side line, he did it again on that same drive a few plays later and caught another deep one out of bounds.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
I meant to say kick off the wall of a pool. If Chris Hope, The DB would have been on the side D. Jack was and Hasselback threw a bad pass that was closer to the DB than the WR, but the DB fully extended his arm and pushed of on Jackson to move over quickly to the more and made and interception, it would ahve peen Defensive pass intereferene, even though the WR was in no position to make the play, the DB would have used the body of the WR to gain an extra advantage towards the body.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
No flag was thrown when Ben was seriously blocked in the back during the int return which would have put the ball back 15 yards from the spot of the foul at Hawks 45 instead of Pitt 20.
Refs picked up a flag against Hawks on a non reviewable call for helmet to helmet.
No one remembers the last play of the 1st quarter when N. Washington was held up and interfered with by the Hawk DB on a deep pass.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Big plays win big games, When you can't prevent a Whopping 75 yard TD Run, and huge 43 yard yard TD pass on a gadget play or a massive 3rd down and 28 for a 37 freakin' yards, then you ought to be bitchin' about that.
When your team has NO vertical game, is 5 of 17 on 3rd down, drops 5 balls, misses 2 FGs and let's 33 seconds run off the clock before deciding on wha tplay to call, more stuff to bitch about besides Refs going by the book, which they did.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Madden hates Pitt,he coachd Pitt in the '70's and lost 2 AFC title games and a div round to us on Immaculate Reception, he still cries about it
He said he didn't see the hold, he didn't say it was a bad call, P I too ,he said it's not the TYPE you usually see. Michales said only the post possesion low block was a bad call. I have the game on DVD.
VP of officials broke the calls down by the defenition on NFL Network and said they were good calls.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
I type too fast, I meant he coached the Raiders in '70's.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Pitt overcame worse calls against the Colts. Randel El was tackled while going deep, no flag, the entire broadcast booth at halftime complained about it. Refs make up a rule called the "Do OVer' when the Colts made contact with the Steelers on a 4th and 1, all becasue they weren't sure who jumped first, and the Polamalu pick that was overturned when replay showed he possessd the ball forever and made 3 football moves.
We still won and the NFL did apologize for those calls.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
what about al michaels he knows alot of football and madden doesn't play favorsthe vp officials aren't gonna admit their wrong anyways, and anyways those bad calls you guys might have had didnt cot you a superbowl and the nfl slightly apologized for the superbull shit
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
Seriously Dude, I don't know where you get your information but it's not on planet Earth.
The NFL NEVER, and I Mean Not ONCE apologized At ALL over the officiating in Super Bowl XL.
They apologized ofer it in the Div RD game between Indy and Pitt, which was much worse than SB XL, but Pitt found a way to overcome.
The VP of officiating Mike Periera is online if you wish to look up his explanations of the calls in SB XL and how they are accurate.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Read this post and the one before it.
The calls were called by the letter.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
Al Michales only said the Low Block on Hasselback was a bad call, and that was post possession, after the Ike taylor Inteception, and actually the rule book states that you can't go low on any player during a change of possession, so even he was wrong and the refes were right again.
The Book also states you can not hook a player which Lockler did, and it states a receiver can not push off the defender past 5 yards while the ball is in the air.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
just watch my videos ok buddy
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
i saw djacks pi he had both arms on the db then took one off and almost extended the only arm that he had on the db that is not PI
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
He gained leverage and advantage towards the ball. Look at teh feet of the DB Chris Hope, they actually leave the ground from the push, and you can watch Jackson's elbow fully extend and his wrist and hand push away. With out the push he would have never had the leverage, because he was sideways, to get over to the bullet of a pass.
PI is called when arms aren't fully extended either, you can't PUSH at All, Period, past 5 yards.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
no hope was actinglike any db would in that situation djck didn't really push off enough to change the result of the play anyways
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
It's so clear that when the VP of officiating was asked about the calls on NFL Network, he stated that if the offcial wouldn't have called PI he would ahve down graded that official.
When the Refs came to Seattle for a scrimmage in Summer of '06, they took questions from the fans.
They told them they can't understand why they are bothered by that call because every Ref in the league looked at it and said they would call it every time.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
so the ref would've been dowbgraed for making the right call. All i'm really saying is that the nfl could've done a better job at finding refs for the superbowl. I mean clearly the penalty flags were brand new and made up entirely of the terrible towle and they just wanted to test the mout at a time that they thought wouldn't really matter and people who are neutral to both teams some would say that those were bad calls
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
I'm talking real world and your so bitter you're making up childsih crap.
The Refs that officiate the SB are the ones who earned it all year long by having the most accurate success when the call are all replayed at the weekly meeetings. The SB literally has the best possible refs for that season.
Another crew made more mistakes in 'o5 than the one in XL.
Take the time to read the NFL Rule BookDude, seriously, just read it, when your done, get back to me.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
oh i saw it with my own eyes i can tell along with other peole that those were bad calls
seahawks37tds 4 years ago
Are you the VP of Officials?
Can you state what constitutes a Hold or PI?
You are a spectator, who from time to time needs clarifiaction.
If Ward would does the same thing Jackson did, or our OT does what Locklere did, with no flags you'd be pissed.
No flag was thrown when Ben was blocked in the back during the Int Return.
15 yards back from the spot of the foul starts the drive at their 45 and not Pitts 20, but I guess that's okay if the Ref misses something that helps the Hawks.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago
rofl! did u know the officals said they made bad calls against seattle that shouldnt of been called!!! they did it on tv last year i have it recorded
runescaper4me 4 years ago
Look up Mike Pereira the Vice President of Officiating in the NFL.
He said that all the calls, but one were by the book and explained the defenitions of the calls.
Hop leaves his feet when pushed, and Jackson has a full arm extened on the Push.
Locklere hooks Haggins and has his own feet beat around the corner.
Ben was over the plane for one moment.
Bigbadben7 4 years ago

To all Seahawk fans:
Regardless of how often u whine about ben's TD, (which looked obvious enough to me that the football crossed the plane) a touchdown in american football is worth 6 points followed by an extra point. the final score of the superbowl was 21-10. If big ben's TD is erased the score becomes 14-10. I may be crazy but i still believe that score doesnt favor Seattle therefore u must come up with another desperation excuse for why they lost...
