i don't want to start an argument here mate, as both arguments are personal opinions. I am a huge Megadeth fan, always have been, and in my opinion Shaun Drovers material is more impressive than Nick Menza's. That's not to say the songs are better or that Nick is shit, only that i appreciate Drovers drumming more than Menza's. Actually my favorite 'deth drummer would have to be Gar Samuelson (R.I.P), but i think Shaun is a pretty damn impressive drummer :-)

today my Atrophy 'Socialized Hate' cd came in the mail, and i tell you what, even the second and 3rd rate thrash bands of the 80's shit all over most of the stuff that passes as 'metal' these days. I was soo glad to see that Megadeth could not only go back to their thrash roots, but make it an up to date, melodic and intelligent thrash record!

Metallica was a great band when Cliff Burton was in it, he made the band agressive after his death, Metallica became all commercial but Megadeth were always agressive. imo thats the biggest difference between the two bands.
everyone who tries to stop people about arguing megadeth vs metallica is a huge tool. The 2 bands are always gonna be compared and contrasted, fact is Metallica is one of the most successful bands in the history of music not just metal. Although this is fact imo it is also fact that Megadeth is better, Mustaine gave Metallica its early sound and pretty much created thrash metal. Slayer even said that they would go to see Metallica in the early dats just to watch Mustaine play.
Megadeth is far more technically advanced than metallica in song structure, solos, and rhythms. Metallica has lost it. Megadeth keeps goin. Listen to bands of that day like testament, overkill, megadeth even slayer and anthrax. they still keep it as heavy as they did then. Metallicrap just cant do it anymore. They are a sinking ship
Just listen to St.Anger and Death Magnetic then listen to The System Has Failed, United Abominations and Endgame. Will clearly show that all Metallica knows how to do is put people to sleep with boring 9 minute long songs while Megadeth is out there still creating 5 minutes songs of pure speed, thrash and power! United Abominations was a cool album, although not their best, but it still fucking destroys St.Anger, which was a fucking abomination!
Unbelievable performance! Megadeth is the greatest band on earth. Mustaine the genius, Elefson and Menza is best bassist and drummer and Friedman is untouchable.
This is awesome to see (and hear) as I Remember reading Dave wanted Sean Harris to sing for Megadeth when he was first putting the band together. That would have been kind of strange, come to think of it.

Metallica was a great band when Cliff Burton was in it, he made the band agressive after his death, Metallica became all commercial but Megadeth were always agressive. imo thats the biggest difference between the two bands.

everyone who tries to stop people about arguing megadeth vs metallica is a huge tool. The 2 bands are always gonna be compared and contrasted, fact is Metallica is one of the most successful bands in the history of music not just metal. Although this is fact imo it is also fact that Megadeth is better, Mustaine gave Metallica its early sound and pretty much created thrash metal. Slayer even said that they would go to see Metallica in the early dats just to watch Mustaine play.

Megadeth is far more technically advanced than metallica in song structure, solos, and rhythms. Metallica has lost it. Megadeth keeps goin. Listen to bands of that day like testament, overkill, megadeth even slayer and anthrax. they still keep it as heavy as they did then. Metallicrap just cant do it anymore. They are a sinking ship

Just listen to St.Anger and Death Magnetic then listen to The System Has Failed, United Abominations and Endgame. Will clearly show that all Metallica knows how to do is put people to sleep with boring 9 minute long songs while Megadeth is out there still creating 5 minutes songs of pure speed, thrash and power! United Abominations was a cool album, although not their best, but it still fucking destroys St.Anger, which was a fucking abomination!

Unbelievable performance! Megadeth is the greatest band on earth. Mustaine the genius, Elefson and Menza is best bassist and drummer and Friedman is untouchable.

This is awesome to see (and hear) as I Remember reading Dave wanted Sean Harris to sing for Megadeth when he was first putting the band together. That would have been kind of strange, come to think of it.
