  • Do adult weimaraners tend to find it hard to adapt to new owners? I just got one who was in his previous family for 4 years (since puppy stage) and he slightly attacked my 7 year old child. I've only had him for 3 days though. He was already housebroken and guy I got him from had a child and said he was very playful. Should I be concerned? He's a beautiful well behaved dog, I just don't want to have to break his neck for hurting my kids if it happens again. I used a shock collar for correction.

  • great work :)

  • where is that place?? Germany?

  • Oh my lord, come to MY house!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Love it, don't like it! I spent hundreds and hundreds of hours working with a Weimaraner just like that! Love to see someone else spending that kind of time and discipline. Special dog. You have quite a talent not only with dogs, but with mixing music with the video as well!

  • Your weimaraner is so well behaved. Mine is still a little wild but has shown very strong hunting instincts. Completely wiped out the squirrel population at my apartment complex on his own. Lucky for me I know a man who trains hunting dogs. I love my weim too much!

  • @redheadfan1 -They are personal hunting companions by breeding and are VERY smart animals.

  • who is this song

  • excellent job! I have to try this on my weim, Kaiser.

  • Your weim is beautuful, I just got one as well (4.5 months). I'm sure she has a human brain, but a baby still. Soooooooooo impressed with what you've achieved, can you tell me how to do the same, books, tips, routines?

  • MUY BIEN. Me encantan los weimaraner

  • Ohhh I am so in love with this weim... he so obedient and smart. I just got mine, he is a 2 moths male... and I am so in love, I have started already with a bit of obedience training and in two days he is attending to calls and sitting!

I am not a trainer and actually I have read and prepared for this puppy for some weeks now, I wish to achieve something close a what you have done.you are a great trainer! Please if you can recommend me a book or something I will be grateful! any advise! thanks

  • can you tell me how you trained him som nice cuz i wanna get a weim

  • This is a verry good weim. He like it to work. Do you use the weim for hunting?

    Axel, Holtland Germany

  • No i dont :)

  • AMAZING... i'm working with my weim right now, but he's faaaaaaar from that level yet

  • excellent work!! I really should try these with my weim! He is great in our yard and in the house, but on the leash it gets tough.. great video and great job with the training!!! check out my videos of my weim shadow if you want.

  • This is one helpfull video . My weimaraner pulls when he wants to smell a tree or a flower along when we get home he pulls but i slow him down.

  • that is amazing!

  • can some 1 write me telling me how i can get my wei to stop pulling on the lead ?!?!?!?!?!?!!! pleeeeeze !!!

  • when he pull, stop, and dont move anymore, then make your weim come to your side with the leach lose, then walk. and repeat when he pulls agian. soon he will understand that if he pulls he cant move =)

  • haha yea i tried that but it wasnt working too well. she jus pulls again str8 away, shes a well trained dog and is very smart but shes just a puller. il try that more, should i do it with sweets in my hand so she walks becide me i heard that works like with dog sweets. i tried both but didnt really keep them going. shes okay off the lead untill another dog comes and she wants 2 go and give them a sniff haha. cheeers

  • i will send you a video of luckas..

thanks i wish i can get to that level like your dogs

  • my weimaranr luckas is only 7 . m.o & im working with him every day but he dont have drive for a ball or toys , so its hard to keep the dog focused for more then 10 minuts.. whats the secret??

  • secret is that need start keep his focused from few seconds....and slow plus more and more seconds.....first 2 seconds focused then 3 seconds....and more, and more, but not hury, slowly step by step...need be very patient....and need turn training to game....for example 2 seconds make him focused then next 2 min play then again 2 seconds focused and again 2 min play with him....and change it fast, with happy, and with big energy...then even focused will be like game for him...

  • if he dont like toys you can use food for focused him. and training shouldnt be very long....better traitinig 2 times in a day....but not more then 30 min. plus you can try teach him at home....at home easy make him focused....and only then start work out. but even at home mix training and game.

  • you can watch on my other video how work my other dog (am.staff terrier). on video u can see how i use toy in training and play with him after every execises....on video he make big exesises before i start play with him....toy make him focused and he wait when i give him toy (or pice of food). but you should start from few seconds...

  • .for example....say him "sit" wait 1 sec and yeeee!!!! give toy or food play, show happy, tell him good dog, play 1 min...then make everything again....start from easy exesises...."sit" or "down" and will be better if u can make video how u try work with your puppy...then i could easy tell what u can try to do....bcs every dog have personal character and psihology.

  • @BenyBor

is that gonna work if weim is already 2 years old?

  • amaizing dog , butifull work ..

    hwo odd is he?

  • thx! he is 7 y.o. now. :)

  • how do you keep that weim so focused? what's in your pocket?

  • when we start i used cookes, later i start use favorite his toys(ball)....now he enjoy just training with me and i dont use anything.....but for everything need time and be patient....

  • Good work! We are having some success like this with our Weimaraner puppy. They can be very obedient and happy to please their owner, but sometimes a little crazy too. But that's why we like them!

  • looks like a ghost town, nice dog though, i have an 11 week old weim, she's not leash trained yet, but shes learning the basic commands.

  • Very neat! Wow!

I notice that you don't do fronts though.

I'm just so used to that.

  • hmmm....i didnt use any special method...just training must be like game for dog....bcs then dog enjoy every min of training :)
