  • Nas has to be the most sample voice in hiphop history..shit he even samples his own voice...thumbs up to that alone..

  • JD have you used this yourself, if so can you post a video of you using it?

  • I want that ish!!!

  • Looks like a cool unit, but I don't see many older producers droppin $1000 for it when they already have gear & software. Like they said this is mainly for newer producers just getting started. It's definitely a stocked workstation. It's like a Nikko's younger, adopted stepbrother.

  • This shit sucks. forreal.

  • AJA is Wack! Dallas Austin sucks as a producer. This should be Beat Thang By JD. Beat Kangz are some fools to not let JD get a beat thang.

  • Flat out beat thang is sexy

  • Comment removed

  • Man yall did that! Love it! Congratulations!

  • Is there a way to control the levels on each instrument or sample?

  • Can you rewire or sync this with most DAW? They don't say much about it but I imagine you could. I know it's stand alone, but if you wanted to add this to what you comfortable with, at the moment.

  • Shouts out to these guys.

  • Im Not Sure About This Product, Looks Too Gimmicky, Aside From The Fact That It's a Black Owned Business Which I Like To Support, I'll Stick To My MPC, Virtual Instruments, Ableton Live and ProTools.

  • If you want a travel toy get this....but if you want a PRODUCTION POWER HOUSE get NI MASCHINE. Difference between a nintendo DS and XBOX 360 ETC.....

  • Lmao J.D at 4:33 kinda looks a lil impress...like "hmmmm not bad but I'm still gne keep to my MPC 3000"

  • jd will never leave the MPC 3000

  • tonka!

  • NI MASCHINE > BEAT THANG

  • @fcthetruthok And you'll have $1000 fatter pockets.

  • i need 1 of them

  • how much does it cost?

  • @ScottMills1988 $1500

  • man got the software been waiting on the hardware over a year now

  • Good looking yo

  • eYe gotta go Kop dat! ^_^

  • good sh*t

  • crazy

  • i bought the software love it !!! but i feel its 2late 4hardware

  • cool, just shared this on facebook

  • ohh shitt im saving up for that now lls

  • i like this

  • That thing is sooooo sick!!!Keep it up Aja,this thang is only getting bigger and bigger!

  • regardless im not a sampler, and the genre i'm in its very rare to sample, so its not for me, just doesn't seem like it would be a huge advantage to have over anything else, but if it works for you then it works for you

  • I got the app, and it gives me the ability to pre tune each sound that I use, custom create kits & edit kits on the fly...plus, you can import your own sounds or sounds from another source. Your ability to be unique will depend on your work ethic & pre-production skills IMHO. Its not the tools you use, its how you use the tools. Beat Thang is a nice addition to any production environment.

  • I agree with ladyTheProducer, some people make it seem like kids are only going o use the stock sound. There are many ways to create your own kit with the beat thang..I've used the virualversion and i have no problem with it. I was thinking about getting either this or the maschine. Either way you can't go wrong.

  • Great how people promoteit!, I'm a MPC all the way. Its like alot of people out would say Choose your own Weapon!, its a "Weapon of your Choice, in the battle field!" Good music make the world go around!.

  • If kids think they are producers because they put together a track, then let them have their moment. So-called producers are a dime a dozen these days!!! The real music moguls should help inspire and encourage them to greater heights instead of bashing a piece of equipment they've never put their hands on. We were all once dreamers... let the kids be inspired! Grown folks relax and let's all make music... not war over another company's success.

  • Different Aja. If he/Beatkangz presented them like this from the start I would've taken them seriously. I'm afraid it's to late.

  • I own BTV, cant wait for the machine. The machine does shit that my virtual doesnt...dope.

  • Nah, this ain't another reason the game is so fucked up. This shit is new. The game been fucked up but it's prevented people from evolving. Now niggaz need to step up go home. Those people on their shit... like me... ain't scared of change. We all say we goin beast mode but the real beasts learn how to adapt and carry on. Everything is supposed to change and we are supposed to change wit it. So if you scared. STAND DOWN. And those that know how to survive STAND UP. History in the making.

  • im siding with @albobeats1 a bunch of kids are gonna buy this and think they are at the top. ppl who are at the top are there becuz they have there own sound, they don't use generic drums and instrument sounds. That library is gonna be overused in about a month, and it seems as if the only thing u can do to each sound is pitch it. He didn't mention anything about actually editing where the sample starts, like a maschine, or playing with oscillators and ADSR AT LEAST to be compared to a roland

  • Comment removed

  • @albobeats1 I think I gotta side with you on this one. I work at a studio in Boston as an Engineer and I've seen and had the opportunity of working with great producers. The biggest thing I see is them making there own sounds. It seems as if the most creative thing u can do is pitch any sample, and those instrument sounds are gonna be useless a month after its out bc everybody will have them. Its all sample based so u can't really change anything about the sound to make it ur own. Too bad

  • @djwhoDni You can change and alter any sound you want to make it your own. That's what producers do! And as for the Beat Thang, they provide you the editing capabilities to do just that orrrrr you can load your own sounds. There are options! I've heard wack music on various types of gear. Clearly it's not the machine that makes a producer, it's the work ethic, time put in, and the education and knowledge that goes into the craft of music production and the business that goes with it.

  • @LadyThaProducHer great point!!

  • @LadyThaProducHer your right you def can, but it just seems as if THIS tool doesn't do that. I can't take the lows from a kick, take the mid from another, and mesh them together into one trigger pad or do anything crazy with it in this pad, if you load your own sounds into it to use it, then u can use any trigger pad u want pretty much which doesn't make this anything special, so my point is, what is this giving me that other products don't offer me. Other then the pitch wheel

  • and yea i def agree its not the machine that makes the hit its the person using it, but at the same time the more capabilities the machine gives u, the more imagination can flow and the more u can accomplish and actually put out what in your mind, for example if your a chef u can make virtually anything great to eat out of nothing, but if your kitchen doesn't offer you a great variety of elements to choose from in the beginning, u can only get so far

  • @djwhoDni Have you used BTV software? With me having worked w/ music for years... that's no biggie for me because I can load the sound into another application and make that happen if I had to. There are multiple on-board functions, but my point is PRODUCERS make it happen. I'm not limited by anything by any piece of equipment. That's my workflow. I do find many producers these days like an easy way to do things. As long as you're happy with what you are using, then you should stay with that!:)

  • @LadyThaProducHer I haven't bt I think we're making 2 dif points lol, yea producers make it happen, but it seems as if this device as a hardware to buy dsn't give me any advantages, I rather just get the samples and load them into whatever software i'm using and have a usb trigger and I haven't lost anything you kno?? and its truly not as portable as i thought at first because if your using samples nd audio str8 from it, then u need to have an interface on you as well, idk it jst isn't 4 me lol

  • @djwhoDni As long as you're happy with what works for you. That's what really matters! But back to what they are discussing in the video... the Beat Thang is a powerful stand-lone that doesn't require interfaces, additional software or a computer, and you can take it anywhere without a power cord and produce right on the spot. However on the other hand, if you have all those options I mention above, the Beat Thang can readily accommodate them. Now that's sweet news! :)

  • @LadyThaProducHer well u would if your not making a beat completely on it, like if i were to use protools or logic or cubase or whatever, i wud need an interface to go into it, and the only thing that wud interest me is the drums or using it as a trigger pad, but regardless until i hear more input on it, it seems like the something that would probably sell really well as opposed to being something that you would regularly see in studios

  • I really don't understand this silly hating. The product was good as a software; I have it and I'm sure this updated hardware will be good as well. What's wrong with selling at Best Buy? You get in where you can get distribution. The market/public will decide who is a producer when they release their production. If you can produce, why would it concern you if little Jimmy and his mom is making beats and think their producers? Live and let live.

  • @albobeats1 any new product has to build a demand up before a big pro audio shop will pick it up...@goreallabeats beat thang virtual is a great program its designd by producers for producers so its easy to use and has everything you need to make hits, i thought it didnt work right till i watch some tut now its runnin great...no piece of equipment good or bad is goin to ruin anyones future in music

  • I have one!!!!

  • i own that old antique ass grey beat machine lol. its da streetboxx n its CLASSIC

  • I will be buying one just because its black owned and brothers doing something positive. My MPC2500 aint going nowhere ever!!!

  • so whats better The Machine or The Beat Thang?? I'm going to get both...

  • I want it. How much is it?

  • Wow... that was amazing. I am not into making music or doing music but I have to say that this was a great video.

  • This is brilliant.

  • Dope

  • Going to get it. Good looking out on this video JD...

  • love it i work with all propellerhead software and it change my life a lot to a postive direction where now im home with my family being a husband and dad. Music change my life and i will invest in this new equipment as well black own company gotta show support. Peace

  • Man I got to get me one of those u know

  • damn I aint watch Living the life since Joe budden and Tahiry was together

When JD said I would stick my hand into her butt, then he ask Trey Songz what would he do......... lol............. it was awsome

  • Congratulations Beat Kangz... Continued success. JD looks like he's ready to dive in! :) Speaking from a producer perspective and having put my hands on the Beat Thang... I know what this 'Thang' can do and more-so how it feels. You're definitely on to something, and I think not only aspiring, but experienced producers will appreciate the functionality and the portability. Keep doing big Thangs! Success comes with the good, bad and the other... Just stay positive, focused, and motivated.

  • @LadyThaProducHer you have one of those Thangs already? He said they will sell them at best buy,not the ones where I live....

  • Damn that's a cool beat maker, very impressive.

  • omgggggg that drum pattern is sexy!!!!

  • Google Blockstarz 7957!!!independent and ready!!

  • BEST BUY!?!?!?! ITS DEFINITELY GONNA BE A HEAVY HITTER AS FAR AS HARDWARE WISE!!!!! IM PRETTY STOKED ABOUT THIS ONE!!!!

  • LOL "Dream big and BUY MY ShIT" Maybe people would give a fuck about what you were saying if you weren't profiting off this. Seriously homie your digging your own grave in this conversation. I could care less about who your dad played guitar for. you can do whatever the fuck you want, shit i hope you sell a million of those little toys youve made with the wack ass samples. No matter what happens ima still be doin my own thing. Just giving my opinion on people like you and the products you move.

  • Thanks to everyone for the support! Not been an easy road..... As you can see there are people who wont want you to make it in life. Take their negative energy and recycle it and use it as a way to keep you pushing forward. Dream big. Think big. Believe you can do anything and thank your haters for doing their job. With out them success doesn't taste as sweet!

OK i gotta get back to work.... gotta think of some new ways to make money lol.... AHH haa..... A Space Ship.... yeah thats it!!!

  • @BeatKangz cool,dude...how much will this thing cost ?

  • LOL.... my father was the guitar player for marvin gaye and this whole thing started because i was raised with a LOVE FOR MUSIC..... left high school in 12th grade and worked HARD! Started this company with 50$ and a drawing on a piece of paper.... I'm just a kid from downtown detroit who believed he could do Big Thangz even when people like you albo were telling me i couldn't. So Thanks for the energy bro im use to it. much success to you albobeats...... i hope you achieve your dreams.....

  • After reading your employment history it became clear that you are a BUsINESS MAN, not a musician. you are a profiteer. Your gonna sell for a few months then no one will ever hear about the "beat thang" again, same thing that happened with Akai's Xr20. You belong with the record execs in business meetings thinking up new ways to make money. I just hope not everyone will fall for this bullshit.

  • It's Taken 3 years and a whole team to create it..... it's been anything but "quick" 2-32 gig SD card SLOT's Full Featured Sampler with Auto Chop and Time Stretch Rechargeable Battery Full Color VIDEO LCD Full CPU integration with an APP that comes with it or WORK ON ITS OWN WITH NO CPU NEEDED 4 Times more Ram than an MPC 4 Times more polyphony than any mpc Fully loaded with Sounds ALL METAL BUILT LIKE A TANK It's a REAL MACHINE not a $20 pad controller with some software
  • NO its Exactly whats right with the game. I bought a Drum machine at 16 which led to a job a sam ash which led to a job with samson which led to creating the street boxx which led to starting my own company and building the most powerful portable beat machine ever created. allot of my friends from school are either dead or behind bars...That first drum machine changed my life...and didnt you know best buy now has over 100 "Pro Audio" stores with in the chain?

  • This is yet another reason why the game is so FUCKED UP. people marketing this bullshit to the masses, now thousands of kids are gonna buy this piece of shit and think they're hot beatmakers and throw their future away. If your product wasn't a total piece of shit then why are you marketing it exclusively at a store for the masses? why not a pro audio shop? because you are trying to make a quick buck off these kids dreams you fucking mongrel.

  • @albobeats1 lol... oh shit... more people are catching on... i was wondering how long it would take.. HA!!

  • @albobeats1 Dis nigga knows what hes talkin about yall some fools

  • @albobeats1

Beat thang virtual allready was a freakin' ripoff. that piece of software shit never worked as supposed to. lol...i love @7:50 "Best BUY....WOOOOW"... lol

  • @albobeats1 Much respect in your opinion... But I have a question. Have you ever worked on the Beat Thang to already claim it as being crappy? And why would it be a problem to market this to thousands of people? That's what businesses do! As for marketing with ONE OF THE biggest exclusive electronic chains... I certainly don't find that as a negative. I'm sure JUST anybody cannot go into Best Buy with a product and make that happen. How do you feel about iPhones and iPads sold in Wal-mart?!

  • @albobeats1 this dude beat was nice - however I agree with you. People buy mpcs or drum machine and wanna say 'imma a producer' not even just a beat maker.

  • @albobeats1 Looks like a nice production tool. Since it was not on the market @ the time of your comment, How could you say it is a piece of Sh*t?

  • the beat thang can stay where it's at for now. 1000 starting off I don't think so.

  • Come on man, are ya'll really talking about the name of the Beat Thang. The top comments should not be about the name or slang used in the product, but how cool the drum machine is.

  • That shit is fucking awesome!

  • That beat thang looks tight and sound good too.

  • @TruthFLA no one missed a point, no one clowned anyone. My opinion was stated clear as day. What he and the company is doing is a great thing but that has nothing to do with my statement. The companies props are well deserved and the product will speak for its self but the name could have been different.

  • Tough

  • Yo when is this machine is coming out I have been waitin for OVER a FUCKING YEAR for this thang??? Someone PLEASE let me know!!!

  • @bjust25 its coming out this year for sure, the official release date will be announced on our facebook page @beatkangzelectronics and on twitter @beatkangz

  • what the fuck is a "Google" anyway???? think about it, thats a fuckin dumbass, ugly ass name for anything! Sounds like what i do on the toilet when i eat too much peanut butter cookies.

  • If it cost more then 200 then they can keep it!

  • @widerule1000

200 go for about a thousand. that's the starting price. they can keep it. I can do maschine and my xr 20. xr 20 is tight.

  • @kidunique10 They can keep I would just get maschine too!

  • You should have showcased Native Instruments Maschine .... but big up to the Black Owned!!!!!!!

  • LOL YOU WHATS FUNNY... THIS THING

  • I'm feeling this but if this cost 400 bucks I'd rather get the MASCHINE. I have the akai xr 20 and I love it.

  • how much will it be ? best buy usually over prices everything...

  • the funny thing is aja thinks if he does all these same fuckin videos with famous people it will make the machine better.. it just goes to show how much it will probably suck..the software sucked. so why not the hardware

  • Hmmm.....

  • Nice!!! Brother got brains!! I like!!! Proud of you guys.

  • Haha JD just lookin like he wants to get his hands on that!!!

  • This shit is sick..

  • I bought a Roland MV and was straight up confused. I sold most of my recording toys and am currently just working on my pen and pad because im a song writer. So JD when can I write a song for Brandons album???

  • im feeling that beat thang fam 4sure

  • it seems dope i hope it's not like that damn maschine i bought. i still aint figure it out yet...

  • Ok, can I fly out to Atlanta and give a personal demo with the Maschine? Seriously

  • cool dude yo, very talented too

  • if you have the extra money, but not necessary

  • nice!!! can't wait til I get into music school :)

  • I'm white, I guess it's not for me

  • @flameboy63 Its for everybody, it doesn't matter what race you are.

  • Seems like a really fun toy, albeit a bit expensive. Depending on how good the sample editing turns out to be, I might go "screw the price" and buy one. Or I might go "meh, not worth the starving". I tried out an old version of Beat Thang Virtual, didn't really feel it, but the physical BT, with current upgrades, might possibly be something. If it ever comes out.

  • @Swenglish why do you think it may not ever come out?

  • @LovelyAprilBaby Do you know how long they've been saying "coming soon" or "coming in a couple of months" or "coming this winter"? A hint: Years. It does seem like they're really getting closer to release this time, but you never know. They've miscalculated before. I guess they tend to find problems with it right before they're about to release it, and it gets pushed back for more improvements. Improvements are good, but they shouldn't have said "soon" before it was ready in the first place.

  • love it

  • I'd love to try that out. I believe in Trying before you buy.

  • I've had this software for about a year and a half and never took the time to learn it because I saw the physical one and been waiting for it to drop but I can say this much the drums in this machine/software is bananas

  • DONT COP IT CUZ JD LIKE IT,GET IT CUZ YOU LIKE IT

  • That's very cool, any ideas about the price and also UK availability?

  • omg i think that is so freakin awesome i want to learn so bad

  • Young Black cats DOIN' IT...... I'M PROUD!!!!

  • Yeah bro gotta cope dat. JD thats wassup

  • shit is crazzyyyyy

  • I don't even make beats, but damn it make me wanna go out and buy it, just to play around with it.

  • That Beat Thang is clean

  • BEST BUY! WOW!!! hahahahahahahaha

  • this is super fresh. can't wait to hear your creation JD

  • i've had it for about two years now, the virtual one. its boring after a while. still nice for beginners and what not.

  • @EmceeGeek Beat Thang Virtual is for pros also. Don't take the Beat Thang Virtual lightly. Teddy Riley and Rockwilder use Beat thang Virtual, just to name a few.

  • it looks cool...but the name is whack

  • Ok Ok..... I dont even make beat But I want one

  • Fresh

  • Ima get it & if it's as dope as it looks/sounds ima promote this bitch like I know dude personally (hand to God I don't) just because it's an incredible product, I eat breath shit music & it's Black Owned and as sad as it is to say it's rare we have something like this that doesnt get bought or stolen by a bigger brand.

  • @BOBBIGPROFECY Yea man its as dope as it looks, the Beat Thang is no joke.

  • thats watsup!

  • looked up on website and it says $999.00 but to ge tdrum machine a turntable and a keyboard all in one man ima get up on this lmao i would recommend this to anyone as it will save you so muc hmoney on other equipment

  • Definitely looking forward to the release of the "Beat Thang" a very well thought out product... with lots of functionality. The lithium battery was a great idea!!!

Congratulations on all your success and the many more rewards to come.
