I shoot Winchester Xpert steel, 9 bucks a box, I shoot it cuz its cheap and our crew shoots a lot of geese. I shoot geese no farther then 30 yards and when we call the shot they are around 10 yards. i use a remington 870 express magnum 12 but havent gone goose hunting with it yet. me and dad went out with my 870 express youth model 20. i was usin kent fast steel too. it was really foggy so we just sat in the boat fishin in the middle of the bay and flocks of geese would fly over and not know we were there until it was too late haha

@minorpayne23 Point well taken, understood, and respected (sans insult) One thing I've noticed about commenting on YT videos is that hunters (always) include an insult aimed at psychologically harming the recipient. Curious. I can speculate the nature of this anomaly is a direct result of their desensitized perception from repeated killings of animals. Again, just speculation, not intended to insult. I liked your reply up until the insult. It made sense. Thinning is necessary but caused by man.

But if we don't learn to control our population and people still choose to have 6 kids, along with technology making us live longer, the world wont be able to house or feed the massive population (and thanks to Asians) that may be a reality in generations to come. @JohnnyRockster13 Your completely right. Nature does have a way of adjusting to keep balance, but unlike other species, we have a way to run from it. Nature is soon or a later going to catch up, but this chase will leave a wake of destruction. Just like most things, the bigger they are the harder they fall and when the human race reaches its peak, it wont we "thinning" , it will be decimation. The land will be over farmed to support an overwhelming population, making it useless.

@JohnnyRockster13 Not to mention basic science, like the carbon cycle, the nitrogen cycle, the phosphorous cycle, ect.... The atmosphere can balance itself, but only so fast. Those are only the main ones, there are TONS of domino effects ....For example More People = less trees = soil erosion = infertile farms = less food. Then there are obvious ones that any one could think of like...more housing + increasing landfills = less farm land = less food.

I used to hunt geese and ducks with my dad as a little kid. But then I realized that using decoys and calls is just another form of baiting. Baiting in any way, shape or form... is not hunting.

@WEGSxIRISH Yes, Pheasants are an elusive bird indeed. Only the weak, slow or stupid get shot. But I've changed my ways. I don't hunt geese anymore. Hell, I've got wild geese right behing our house. The things play with our dogs. They are a very social animal, and are actually one of the few that mate for life. Plus they taste like shit. Just like deer, imo.

i use a remington 870 express magnum 12 but havent gone goose hunting with it yet. me and dad went out with my 870 express youth model 20. i was usin kent fast steel too. it was really foggy so we just sat in the boat fishin in the middle of the bay and flocks of geese would fly over and not know we were there until it was too late haha

I've heard their populations are way outta control, because they lay 2 eggs and most don't make it to maturity, as they are eaten by hawks.
