Some women look good in perm, others look good natural. I think that if a black woman walked around in London with straight hair, she'd get a lot of looks. I also think that if she walked around with her natural hair, she'd get a lot of looks. But in America, it can be quite different. That's sad...so sad. I'm still going natural, though(I'm mixed).

I think that women don't accept themselves in general. Otherwise, why would women wear lipstick, eye shadow, foundation, and jewelry, all of which are not natural. Straightening your hair is just another facet of enhancing one's beauty. When I lived in Los Angeles I worked in an office with a woman who was from the African West Indies. She used to wear solid colored dresses. Yellow. Orange. Pink. No pastels or prints. Just solid, striking bold colors. I couldn't take my eyes off of this girl. I was married at the time too and the fantasies running through my mind were like a waterfall. She is a gorgeous woman. I look at a woman for every aspect of her and if she has a great personality then she will always be the sexiest thing in my eyes and if she has short, long, straight, curly, etc. Be comfortable with who you are and everyone will find the one they love and will love them in return no matter what.

There are lot Africans using skin bleaching cremes (men and women). They got a false belief that it will make them more appealing. Unfortunately, in the longterm they're just putting their health at risk. You can't go to an African shop or pharmacy without seeing a bunch of skin bleaching cremes.

A lot of people think straight hair looks nicer than curly hair. You can make it into an argument of 'European standards of beauty' if you want, but it's just wrong. Black people have curly hair, and it's difficult to manage- deal with it. Saying that people have racial self-hate for straightening their hair is immature and insulting, and you're just shying away from your own insecurities.

Some women look good in perm, others look good natural. I think that if a black woman walked around in London with straight hair, she'd get a lot of looks. I also think that if she walked around with her natural hair, she'd get a lot of looks. But in America, it can be quite different. That's sad...so sad. I'm still going natural, though(I'm mixed).

I think that women don't accept themselves in general. Otherwise, why would women wear lipstick, eye shadow, foundation, and jewelry, all of which are not natural. Straightening your hair is just another facet of enhancing one's beauty. If you want to talk about being natural then stop with the make up, lipstick, and all the rest that women do to alter their appearance. Almost all women do not accept their natural beauty. When I lived in Los Angeles I worked in an office with a woman who was from the African West Indies. She used to wear solid colored dresses. Yellow. Orange. Pink. No pastels or prints. Just solid, striking bold colors. I couldn't take my eyes off of this girl. I was married at the time too and the fantasies running through my mind were like a waterfall. She's fair looking. But it doesn't matter if a black woman wears her hair straight. And it looks better. Concentrate on questions such as why do women feel the need to get breast and butt implants, collagen and botox. Hair isn't that big a deal.

There are lot Africans using skin bleaching cremes (men and women). They got a false belief that it will make them more appealing. Unfortunately, in the longterm they're just putting their health at risk. You can't go to an African shop or pharmacy without seeing a bunch of skin bleaching cremes.

I agree with you... I understand what your saying....its about excepting and loving your body in its natural state its the perspective you have in viewing your beauty there is nothing wrong with Black girls/guys straighting there hair or doing w/e they wish its about if they put there value in there hair...i think its important to first go natural and except yourself and after you are able to do that and come from a place of seeing your beauty for what it truly is then do w/e you wish.

A lot of people think straight hair looks nicer than curly hair. You can make it into an argument of 'European standards of beauty' if you want, but it's just wrong. Black people have curly hair, and it's difficult to manage- deal with it. Saying that people have racial self-hate for straightening their hair is immature and insulting, and you're just shying away from your own insecurities.

@macr0machine black women manage and grew their hair before Europeans discovered Africa what's your argument?there's plenty videos on how to manage and maintain natural hair on youtube, and actually it's more effort to make sure relax (straight) hair doesn't break, that's probably the reason most black women don't have long hair because our hair grows like every other race no misconceptions and its more versatile Can YOU make your hair AFRO? no But I can make MY hair Straight B.P.O video ok
