I think music has nothing to do with it. Avg. Deaf people has wider periphereal vision and higher spatial skill, so s/he sees better and can react and understands quicker to what s/he sees. I've ride with Deaf drivers. Most of them talked and watched my talking while they were driving. I treated some of hearing drivers as if they were Deaf drivers, they almost crashed and blamed me for "interrupting" them while they didn't know they had these low skills. I learned not to interrupt them.
