  • What a beautiful voice...

  • I love his voice! he is Amazing!! :)

  • Oh... I lived by this album back in '92... gorgeous...

  • Really beautifully done. At 2:39 - a nice subtle alteration righteously licensed IMO! I haven't heard a piano/vocal version that can best this one.

  • I used to sing this into the phone whenever telemarketers would call until they hung up. Very effective practice.

  • Smoooth. LOVE IT.

  • I need more music like this, slow, beautiful, and with an amazing jazz voice, any suggestions?

  • @Teramelos7777

Listen to Steve Tyrell. I belive you will enjoy it as well.

  • My Dad's favorite song--how I wish he could have heard this rendition!

  • @MultiKZB my dad's too he was a hoosier like Hoagy it was the first song I ever learned the words to the verse and the refrain

  • @Thepragmatic123 i taught tai chi at the art/music school on prytania and listened to ellis play and teach in the 80's what a musician he! (and of course his kids)

    cool version ...

  • Coooooool!!!

  • Beautiful version. King Cole's, Artie Shaw's, and especially Louis Armstrong's are my favorites.

  • made my day!!! thanks downloadmusic .im

  • The Nat King Cole version of this song is by far much better!!!

  • I don't think he ever heard this version. But the last time I did see my Father, I played it for him. He told me once, this was his favorite song. Don't know why, but I'm thinking of him now.

  • Harry's a class act ! Saw him @ pensacola civic center many years ago... SUPERB...Saw micheal buble there last year .. what a dissapointment , all he did was drop " F " bombs all night , no class ... buble could take some lessons from Connick, but then why bother , there's only one Harry Connick !!!!!

  • Without question, this is the IDEAL version - the complete lyrics, a fabulous voice, and best of all, an accompaniment that remembers this song is a reverie, nearly a lullaby. So many versions - even the greats, Nat King Cole, Frank Sinatra, Jo Stafford - have too heavy an arrangement. This is brilliant, and I so appreciate you sharing it with us!

  • It is a great version. The accompanying piano is brilliant. The arrangement is perfect for a little bar on the San Francisco Bay. It is too bad no one writes music like this any more. It is so beautiful.

  • Love Harry Connick singing this timeless song. Thanks for posting.

  • Finally someone puts this on Youtube! Been looking for this version for AGES! Thumbs up!

  • Such a great song, this was my mom's favorite song. It takes me back and reminds me of all the great times. Thanks for posting it.

  • I would not disagree with arrogantknowitall, nor would I disagree about Harry nor Nat, but what about George Benson? He does a great job! I'm off to find him.

  • He milks it. Not a good idea with this song - the melody is so complex that you have to control it, or the listener is lost.

  • He really sounds like Sinatra here. Does he still sing like this?

  • @whistlingtiger He does. Harry is one of the last real musical talents. Brilliantly talented pianist and vocalist. 25 is one of my personal favorite albums of all time.

  • I like this version, but for some reason the piano reminds me of Mr. Roger's Neighborhood...

  • Cole is King!

  • Harry has a good version of Stardust, but Nat King Cole sings this and it is just magical almost haunting This is the quintessential perfect song.

  • WRONG! This version is VERY good, but Mel Torme wins for best version... Still this is very respectable!

  • @arrogantknowitall I would not disagree about Mel Torme. I think George Benson's up there with one of the best renditions of this song, ever!

  • @JAXMEM I have to disagree. Nat King Cole's version is the best vocal interpretation of the song. To me it has a dreamy quality to it. To each his own though! :)

  • ¡Qué recuerdos!. Uno de los artistas fetiche de una parte de mi vida.

    The sound is perfect.

    Best wishes from Salamanca, SPAIN!!!.

  • Beautiful! Harry for PREZ.

  • AND he is accompanying himself. NOT a talent to be taken lightly!

  • @pauldav1d actually, he's not accompanying himself on this song. the piano is played by Ellis Marsalis, who was his mentor. not that harry couldn't do an amazing job, but the feel is a little different.

  • @rockstar728 thanks for enlightenig me. IMO, Ellis' piano took away the limelight from Harry.

Anyway, they're both great in their own ways.

  • Actually Harry didn't play piano on this. Ellis Marsalis did (feather of Wynton & Branford). I'm not saying Harry couldn't have played it, just the fact is he didn't. TZ

  • @pauldav1d He is accompanied on this song by Ellis Marsalis

  • @pauldav1d Actually that's Ellis Marsalis on piano.

  • The first and better that i ever heard

  • This is my favourite version of the piece... Cole's gorgeous, so perfect. Satchmo's irreverent and punk before punk. But this has Pathos for me like any other. And I've heard a lot.

  • Ask any serious musician who understands voice with arrangement, they'll tell you this version ranks second only to Cole's version. I love Sinatra but even he didn't have the strong vocals Connick has.

  • agreed, condolea. cole did it best. but harry kills it too.

  • Harry for the next Sinatra Movie,, would be great,

  • While I love Harry, this is far from the best version. Better than Sinatra? Better than Cole? Again, Harry's great, but let's not get carried away.

  • One of my favorites from Harry.

  • This is the absolute BEST version of this song. It is so beautiful and perfect. Thanks for posting this.

  • I agree! One killer take! Anyway, enjoy!

  • have you heard Nat King Coles version?

Sarah Vaughan has the best version ever...hands down, you gotta check it out,Sarah takes this song to a whole nother level that no one else did.

  • @Mathew1985AZ

well i just listened to sarahs version and i did not care for it...stylistiacally i def prefer jrs version...also nat was nat KING cole for a reason...i have yet to hear anybody do a song better....and if you watch his old variety show he makes it look so easy....i love harry....but nat is king.....

  • @JAXMEM Michael Bublé's is preety good, it's a duet with Naturally Seven.
