Pornography should be illegal as well, but it isn't and prostitution is (except, sadly, in Nevada) so therefore it as a law must be respected. Spitzer got what he deserved and what was coming to him: I don't know how he got away with this awful conduct for so long. He had to pay the price some time and finally he has.

Prostitution is illegal in New York and so he broke not only the laws of morality and character but also those of the state. As such he needs to be punished like every other New Yorker. Also, there is now a further investigation going on as he may have used state funds to pay for the plane tickets he used to meet his trysts with this prostitute, Kristen. That would add embezzlement to his long list of guilts.

He believed he was above the law, he felt these laws should not apply to him; would people want someone who cannot obey laws running an office of such importance? I understand where you are comming from ace1038 but its the fact that he his a figure in our government. when you are elected into office you can't do things like that because you are not only representing yourself but also a whole state of people...if prostitution wasn't illegal it would not have been as big of an issue. although people would have made it such.... Kind of like the clinton thing. Cheating is not illegal in terms of the law, so we shouldn't have intruded in his personal life.

I think that what you are looking for is that 1. the investigation is on how he funded his sex-capades, therefore it is now how he is misusing his position and funds; 2. the question of how this has anything to do with how he does his job, whether or not you believe having an affair is right or wrong, I am sure he knew that prostitution was illegal - follow me, dont give up - ergo, he wasn't going to get caught doing something that 'everyone else' gets in trouble with - see other post...

I would believe that Silda has known for some time what has been going on. I would imagine that no one could hide that for so long; also, were they both not aware the money was going? I mean, if my husband were to magically spend 4 grand on a 'something', I would see it and ask at least a question...I think there was an agreement, or she couldnt stand up to him and just leave if she didnt approve!
