  • How old is Cher now? 104? 105? All that plastic in her is keeping her alive. Wonder if Greg Allman ever recovered from that night.....

  • I'm too young to have been around when this came out, but I have so much love for Cher and her songs so here's a big big thank you!!

  • I was 13 when this came out...I remember my sister was going through a 'supernatural' phase and really loved it!!

  • oh, my goodness I remember this!!!! Wow!

  • LOL 2:53

  • Not only creepy but very depressing!

  • This is how I remember the song--animated. Just Great

  • considering how old the cartoon is, it's really good and funny. Except that the dark lady looks scary every now and again hehe

  • Wow, that is so cool! I love the graphics and the design of the animation. LOL!

  • I have not seen this a very long time and thanks for posting it. It was ahead of it time.

  • Great song and a very good video.

  • I remember this. I haven't seen it in 35 years! Thanks.

  • I like this. ^_^

  • isnt this like the lady in black? bec it sure reminds me of it.

  • This Video Is Great!! Very Funny !

  • That's for sure. I especially love when the Dark Lady & the cheating guy fall dead on the floor. (It's definite classic of cartooning).

  • For some reason I woke up last 2 days with this song in my head, so. I can remember watching this as a lil kid. LOVE HER!

  • ME, TOO! And, I typed in Dark Lady, and saw this cartoon! I remember it well, too! Always loved this song!

  • I saw this on the Sonny and Cher show when I was just a kid and it's been one of my favorite Cher songs ever since!

  • this is really good song but this cartoon is creepy

  • Creepy indeed..i remember when i was a kid and I saw that for the first time...scared me to death..the dark lady reminded me of a wicked witch...

  • Oh my gosh!!! I remember seeing this when it aired. My mom was a huge Cher fan.

  • Thanks to kit. who sent this to me. I remember seeing this when it was first on in the 70s.

  • A friend of mine recently sang this a few times and our Karaoke parties so I thought I'd check this out. Great song!

  • Beautiful song!

  • Was the girl arrested in the end?

  • yes

  • I just love that strut dance that she does.

  • The cartoon looks as though it had a 1920s style - listening to the song, I kinda figured it had a more contemporary setting - great job though, thanks for posting!!!

  • my fav song 4 eva AHHHH luv it

  • An original video.

  • Well done and a bit eerie, esp when the lady dances with the taper; her body is mostly unclothed angled such that walking, let alone dancing, would be impossible.

  • think I saw this as a kid lol

  • this.

    is.

    so.

    weird.

    I LOVE IT! :D

  • omg great job!!!!!

  • Who was the artist again who did these cartoons?

  • Moxie96:

The artist style looks alot like the artist who did the intro cartoon to the first Grease Movie with Travolta years ago. It would have been around the same time as this short film/cartoon and song;)

  • The Fortune Queen of New Orleans Was Brushing Her Cat In Her Black Limousine.

  • I love this video I remember seeing it when it came out on the Sonny and Cher Show, when I hear the song I see this video. Thanks for sharing it and bringing back great memories

  • I always imagined the Dark Lady as a voodoo lady rather than a gypsy, but Cher seems to use the Romani people in a lot of her work

    x

  • when i will grow up if my husband would do that i would dop the same thing as the blonde girl

  • Why did the fortune teller told her that?

    Was she suicidal?

    I don't understand it.

  • She wanted to keep it secret and get her away from him because she was having an affair with him

  • I love this video! It's so interesting..

  • Great Video!!!

  • I love old music to!!!!I will go to your channel I love Cher to!!(i am only 11)

  • excellent! I've loved her since I was two (31 now) in all her versions.

Find the cher dolls including the Mego ones -though they are very fragile due to age. carefully move her body when you get one because it sticks/is sticky and leave the hands alone, I won't tell you what my sis did to hers away from breaking both hands! Glad I got my grandma's one when I was old enough and not dumb!- Good Luck!

  • Love this song...just found this today(I'm only 13). I LOVE Cher. ^^ I've liked her for a long time too. And Stevie Nicks. I love her too. I need more friends on here that like old music. =P

  • Who's Madonna?

  • this song is sooo cool XD The cartoon is pretty cool as well

  • I always envisioned the Dark Lady as a Creole/Voodoo gypsy.....this animated version doesn't really look like a Dark Lady

  • I totally agree. I always imagined the gypsy type.

  • TA VERGAS

  • LOL!

  • thanks. also- yep, thats what Cher says in the song: "until her brew was done."

  • that was so cool!!!!!

  • a true classic song by Cher!

  • was this music video part of the "Sonny and Cher" show?

  • I remember seeing this, I don't remember if it was the S&C show or the later Cher show.

"until the brew was done"? is what she says?

  • I'm old enough to remember that it was part of the S&C show, on CBS, back in 1974 when it was seen from 8 to 9 pm and the song was a #1 hit (I would have been 10 years old at the time. I just always was curious why the woman who was basically Cher in the cartoon was a blonde?

  • what a cool music video! this is my fave song by Cher!i didn't know Cher even had a music video for "Dark Lady"! awsome- thanx 4 posting!

  • Thanks for posting a true classic, in its entirety! Well worth the bandwidth investment, especially for the current generation, many of whom who have probably never seen the Sonny & Cher show with this cartoon!

  • This was one of many music videos animated by John Wilson (of Fine Arts Films), who also animated the titles and bumpers for CBS variety shows of the 1970s (like "Sonny & Cher"), and the opening titles for the movie "Grease".

  • i remember watching this live around 1973,thanks for the post

  • Great stuff!! I remember watch this when I was a kid. It is a cartoon that I might not let my daughter see, though the song is on her iPod ;)

  • Thanx for uploading the complete version... what treasure from the 70's! For something a little darker and less lady check out Varla Jeans Merman's version.
