For someone who "gave me my start" and "called me 'amigo' for over forty years", you certainly did not repay Desi Arnaz's friendship with this so called "story"- and shame on you for calling it that. You've got hypodermic needles, Rx & liquor bottles chasing each other around Mr. Arnaz's head while "Babalu" (and that's the correct spelling) plays in the background (?). Thanks for the effort, but this is just dreadful- you'd just better hope that Lucie Arnaz Luckinbill never comes across this!
I doubt Desi remembered my name either, but he took the time in 1956 to call me at home from the airport (I was 10) after dad sat next to him on an airplane. I couldn't appreciate his genius at the time, but now I do, and it was a thrill to talk with him.
Sort of I Love Lucy meets Tarantino's script of Natural Born Killers. Its not surreal, its almost psychedelic in the true sense of the word. Strange video. Long live Desi Aranz!
Confortablemente Desi podia hablar en cubano sin problemas....maravillosa pareja ...........ojala los programas fueran como " ese " Lucy y Desi grancias
I grew up on Gower Ave. Across the street from stage 29, is it true that is where the "Ricardo's living room was filmed", also at 4:00 that effect is really cool, My cat just jumpped up and ran out of the room! never saw her move that fast, in Cat years she is as old as you are:)
you are a kook who lies and need to go back 2 eating your cat food....ok the cops will find your dead body when your neighbor calls.....please go back to your piss stained bed clothes and die....
lets just say that i'm really closing in on tripple digits. i knew them both, as well as the oppenheimers. in those days i wrote on bob carroll's crew. i workd on our miss brooks & the real mc's. fun years.
Desi rarely remembered names of people he worked with, on and off screen. He did call them "amigo" [or "pardner"], so as not to seem unfriendly or standoffish. He did this with William Frawley during the very first filmed episode of "I LOVE LUCY", as if he'd forgotten "Fred's" name.
Lucy was accused of being a communist. She had signed up to be communsit to make her Grandfather happy and it was later found out. But the whole thing was dropped since she never attended any communist meetings and stuff.
Yes I have that in the DVD collection and I am hoping to be able to upload the apology that Desi did for her on stage. I remember seeing her say that she was petrified to face the audience and that Desi was also afraid but at the end he was THE MAN :) He stood up frightened in front of the audience to save Lucy. I get mad at those who say that Desi came to Lucy's life to destroy it. But you can not help but see that here, he was a gentleman and a warrior for her, as in many other occasions!
Were desi and lucy nice people?

I agree, I found the needles and bottles to be in poor taste. Other than that, a cool and trippy video!!
