The 68,000 deer that arent found never go to waste, because nature allows for decomposition, other animals to scavenge, and add natural fertilizer. Any deer shot must be legal and of decent age; thus a deer not found is just like one dying of natural causes. True, some inexperienced hunters gut shoot the deer or the deer isnt properly tracked and found. But even a bad shot will allow fo the deer to bleed out fairly quickly, because the broadhead damages enough to kill it within minutes.

Coyotes do not sit on their tree stand and be told to wait 30-45 min at least to track the wounded deer to make sure its dead. Sometime even up to 4 to 12 hours. That is more suffering then coyotes or wolves killing for food. Wolves when they make their kill they bring it down as quickly as possible they do not like being kicked and thrown around like rags.

I have read about wolves hunting and it said that wolves when they kill the animals they will eat as much as possible for they may not kill again for 2 weeks. They also go for the weakest or the young which is part of the whole eco balance. I read that wolves would rather go fishing the killing a big animals like an elk or large deer. Man do not kill for hunger, they kill for "sports" and trophy leaving thousands wounded and crippled to die a horrific death.

It is a very quick death. The reason us hunters wait is to make sure we are able to find the animal we killed. Rarely will the deer go very far or live for more then another minute but you never know, so we play it safe and wait to make sure the animal doesnt run off farther which makes it harder to find.
