I loved this commercial. So weird it's stuck with me all these years. I used to watch the weather channel every morning before school just to hear the music. Made my days a little brighter.
@furiocity202 Two words for you: Gene Hackman. (The same Gene Hackman who played Lex Luthor in 'Superman: The Movie', 'Superman II' and 'Superman IV: The Quest for Peace'.
@furiocity202 You're welcome. I thought he said 'WE dedicate IT to giving you the service you deserve', but I was wrong. He said 'REDEDICATED to giving you the service you deserve.'
ummm I dont know to be honest, i just think that their are so many flights to so many places around the world now-a-days that airline travel has lost its magic that I can imagine it had back in the 80's. And just 10 years ago their was the concorde which i can remeber flying and that was a pure sense of excitement, but now all you ever hear about form airlines is how they are cutting flights, selling off planes, slashing 8000 jobs or chargind $4 for a coffee but I still think that... (continued)
sub councously people still get excited by air travel and still choose to fly because we may be charged for different things but the fact that we can fly from london to australia in just 24 hours is a huge achievement and makes people feel free even if they don't think it
well my family usually fly first class or business class so I would have to say the enviroment in first class on a united plane, the seats and the service are a lot better comapred to american airlines or british aiirways for the price you pay.
goodness, you are curious, do you work for united airlines? Lol. umm I like to see a friendly attitued flight attendant frequently asking me if everything is alright and if their is anything she can get me. Also I want them to be enjoying their job and not just putting on a smiley face.
To answer your question, I am planning to operate my aviation business in the coming years with & 777-200LR and A350. (I am real)
By the way, about the environment in cabin, what do you enjoy about the interior design? and, do you have any idea of how a aeroplane cabin should design.
umm again, i can't say for economy because i have never flown econonomy but based on first class, I think that it is very important to have individual mini cabins almost like suites, in which you can sit or lay down in and be in a cacoon but to have the option of having a glass panel down for cabin crew to check your alright from time to time. Also in first class, i don't think it nessacary to have the airlines colour scheme, should be colours that make the flyer feel comfortable and relaxed.
The 1980's United was on top!!! Love the music, my Favorite Gershwin of all time...and Gene Hackman, the true voice for United Airlines!!! "Come fly the friendly skies!"
hey anyone knows the name of the song, well is not a song is a composition, n i just rememeber it from this commercial, please if someone knows let me know

Dear All,
I have some humble question about psychology and sociology:
*Why do we love flying and being in the sky?
**How could we define the magic of flying?
*How could the magic of flying related to American Dream or "American Way of Life"? (This is the believe in 60's to 80's)
THANK YOU IN ADVANCE for your creative ideas and brainstorms!!! :)

Do you think that the magic felling of flying is about the "American Way of Life"? and if yes, How?
(these question are more about sociology)

applesweeter 2 years ago
ummm what do you mean, are'nt all flights fast?
BrambleH 2 years ago
I mean around the speed of sound, such as 1-2 MACH, and arrive London to Hong Kong in less than 6 hours.

yeh it's good, but it was better flying from LHR to JFK when the cocorde was around
