dud that sounds sick i have an 99 expo 5.4l i need headers bad but its gonna cost to get them installed i have a gibson exhaust already on it

Sounds f***ing sick, do you have gibson shorty headers or long tube headers? And what size pipe did you use? I have 2.5 inch with gibson shorty's now with no cats and no muffler but i want this set up on my 5.4 and i can share the noise and test the question if 5.4's are louder with stock manifoldd or headers. I looked into the loudmouth 2 muffler and the 3inch inlet-3inch outlet is just over $100 and 2.5 inch is just over $200 so which did you use?

Well, I haven't heard the LM1s but I also heard from a couple people that the 5.4s might not be as loud as the 4.6s if you put headers on them. Don't know how true that is but I definitely want to hear a 5.4 with this setup.

That is SICK! so i have been looking around for slp loudmouth I's but i cant seem to find them. ive checked jegs, summit, ebay, and just searched for them straight up google. are they called something else?? i have found slp shotgun race resonators. are those it? i want to run these on my 96 vortec tahoe. It has AEM CAI, summit MAF, cfm tech ported throttlebody, pacesetter full length headers and a hypertech max power tuner.

I got mine from summit for a little over $100 per muffler. Don't enter your vehicle info when searching for these. You will definitely enjoy them if you get em!

Thanks, don't remember the name of the company, but they were purchased online for about $350 or so. I was told that the company still hadn't made the mold of the fender yet, so I had to wait about 4 months from the day I ordered them. Will look even better once the truck is painted.

5.4 is actually quieter than the 4.6 in most occasions.

why not put a 5.4l in the truck? all your bolt on parts should fit the 5.4l...i have a 5.4l for my f150 that im going to be rebuilding, still need to make a game plan for what im going to do with it...ported heads, cam and bullit proof bottom end...i love the idea of a turbo charger

Thought about the 5.4 but for now the 4.6 is sufficient. Maybe in the future do a swap. Turbo or super-charger, it's a toss up. Either way u go your going to have a unique sound and plenty of HPs!
