@ZzzMyself When couples argue, it's a bad sign because it means their relationship isn't as solid as you want it to be. But when DE argue, I still love them. I love them even when he tells her off, or she tells him off. There's something so undeniably real, powerful and passionate about them even when they fight. The fact that you can still see how much they care when they argue, and still love them is part of what makes them special. That's why this is a Delena scene.

Anyone who thought Damon never cared about his brother is an idiot. Stefan and Damon's relationship is probably the most underrated in the show. They both love and have saved each other, like siblings are supposed to do. They fight and voice their hate, but in the end, they're BROTHERS. Imagine your brother sacrificing his humanity, his everything, for you. Damon has the right to feel angry about it, because behind that anger is enormous guilt.

@wangkairu Who says he's going after his girlfriend? Is that shown in this clip? The only time Damon ever ACTUALLY went after Elena was in 2x01. And after that, he's never tried to take her away from Stefan. Harmless flirting, I think, is his way of coping and just who he is. He's flirty, egotistical, and impulsive. And as for Elena only loving Stefan, in the words of Kevin Williamson (the writer of the show), "She does love both of them, but it's what she does about it."
I seriously cannot wait. You know, it kind of annoys me that people are saying Damon only has started caring about Stefan. When Stefan turned in season 1, Damon was hellbent on saving him from the tomb vampires. Damon was the FIRST one to care about his brother, and Stefan was the one who proved himself in the season 2 finale that he cared about his brother also.

This shows perfectly why do I ship Damon/Elena. You can see such a passion, concern, understanding, love... All this in one little yet how intense scene. How can anyone top that? These two are the perfect example of what a real relationship needs to be built on.

Afterwards, Damon looks kind of sad or regretful because he knows this will hurt Elena, but he also knows she has to know the truth. I seriously love this couple, and I have missed them so much.

@TheAngelgirl1992 To be fair, we've seen Damon fight for Stefan in the flashbacks and Stef pushing him away. He's been through this countless times. You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. And also, remember Stefan's reaction to Damon in the beginning of S1? He never tried to help Damon (like Damon did with Stefan), his first reaction was to try and kill him. Damon is keeping track of Stefan, but there's very little he can do without getting all of them killed.

I totally love this scene! The look on Damon's face when he notices he's hurt Elena is so heart-breaking! And what is even more heart-breaking is that he wants to comfort her after that, but he just doesn't know how, and he's afraid he will just make it worse so he leaves. @Jubileegirly I disagree. I think that what Damon says to Elena is something that Stefan would want for her since he's gone all rippah. Damon knows that waiting for Stefan to come back as what he is now will be dangerous not only for Elena but for everyone in Mystic Falls. Elena,thinking that Stefan is a saint,doesn't believe him because she believes that Stefan got over his blood problem after Lexi helped him but he didn't say that he had gone on benders as late as 1917.
It's time for Elena to see the other side of Stefan. She only saw the good/caring/loving side of Stefan but she never really saw the blood thirsty (ripper) side of him. I'm glad Damon gave her the truth because its time for her to wake up and realize that Stefan is not so perfect.

I loved this scene. So deep, so real, so angsty..so them. I loved Damon's brutal honesty, tbh. You could see in the end that he was clearly sorry for making Elena suffer and that he didn't want to sound too harsh, but at least he opened her eyes a little bit, hopefully. Snapping at her like that and being honest w/ her will always remind me the difference between Damon and Stefan. Damon would always tell her the truth no matter what, Stefan on the other hand lied and lied to her.
@lauragiuggi I noticed that too!! At the end of the video after he's done talking, he gulped and his face dropped. So it was very clear that he was sorry for sounding too harsh,but accepted the fact that she needed to know and hear that!! Kudos to Ian Somerhalder and Nina Dobrev for making such a loud scene without saying too many words!!!
Because Stefan never told her, I like the fact that Damon raised his voice a little higher higher on Elena because sometimes you need to do that to make someone listen. The fact that he can actually do that to Elena shows the fact that he knows her enough to know that she can handle the cold type of truth, and that he doesn't treat her like a baby like Stefan does. And that is what is so beautiful in the Delena relationship. Sorry for the long rant. :)

That's the point of the show. Accept that or watch something else. Trying to TELL people that their preferred couple isn't going to happen is just stupid.
I think that (given other previews) Damon just came from a confrontation with Stefan, and said all that cuz he realized how far gone his brother is :( but obviously they don't give up - summary for episode 3.03 says Delena follows a lead for Stefan. Sheesh.

I love them even when he tells her off, or she tells him off. There's something so undeniably real, powerful and passionate about them even when they fight. The fact that you can still see how much they care when they argue, and still love them is part of what makes them special. That's why this is a Delena scene.

Anyone who thought Damon never cared about his brother is an idiot. Stefan and Damon's relationship is probably the most underrated in the show. They both love and have saved each other, like siblings are supposed to do. They fight and voice their hate, but in the end, they're BROTHERS. Imagine your brother sacrificing his humanity, his everything, for you. Damon has the right to feel angry about it, because behind that anger is enormous guilt.

And after that, he's never tried to take her away from Stefan. Harmless flirting, I think, is his way of coping and just who he is. He's flirty, egotistical, and impulsive. And as for Elena only loving Stefan, in the words of Kevin Williamson (the writer of the show), "She does love both of them, but it's what she does about it."

I seriously cannot wait. You know, it kind of annoys me that people are saying Damon only has started caring about Stefan. When Stefan turned in season 1, Damon was hellbent on saving him from the tomb vampires. Damon was the FIRST one to care about his brother, and Stefan was the one who proved himself in the season 2 finale that he cared about his brother also.

You can't save someone who doesn't want to be saved. And also, remember Stefan's reaction to Damon in the beginning of S1? He never tried to help Damon (like Damon did with Stefan), his first reaction was to try and kill him. Damon is keeping track of Stefan, but there's very little he can do without getting all of them killed.

I loved this scene. So deep, so real, so angsty..so them. I loved Damon's brutal honesty, tbh. You could see in the end that he was clearly sorry for making Elena suffer and that he didn't want to sound too harsh, but at least he opened her eyes a little bit, hopefully. Snapping at her like that and being honest w/ her will always remind me the difference between Damon and Stefan. Damon would always tell her the truth no matter what, Stefan on the other hand lied and lied to her.

Because Stefan never told her, I like the fact that Damon raised his voice a little higher higher on Elena because sometimes you need to do that to make someone listen. The fact that he can actually do that to Elena shows the fact that he knows her enough to know that she can handle the cold type of truth, and that he doesn't treat her like a baby like Stefan does. And that is what is so beautiful in the Delena relationship. Sorry for the long rant. :)
