Wow this brings back memories! It was the first game i ever bought on PC. I remember struggling to get the sound to work cause you had to choose and configure the sound card ingame. I remember the absolute JOY when i finally got it working and hearing the flute at the beginning, No matter how good a game is these days they dont even come close to bringing the JOY TR1 bought me. TR1 was the right game at the right time and i dont think that will ever be replicated :(

I remember this one playing near the start of the city of vilcabamba level, in the room with small pool and the wooden racks wih animal hides draped over them. You could visualise the vilcabambian's going about their daily lives, almost expect them to show up, but where were they?
I was only 10 years old when I first played this game... it was an whole NEW WORLD for me :D thank you EIDOS and CORE for giving me a new taste and feeling in my young life :D

Wow this brings back so many great memories, this also was one of my first games on PlayStation... Man... I used to play this when I would go to my cousin's back when I was 6 or 7... Only problem was my cousin and I weren't allowed to use the memory card, and never got past that 3rd level... I also remember asking my Dad what to do haha... It's surprising because that was so many years ago, and I still remember it... 8^)
Anniversary is one of the rare remakes that is also my favorite almost just as much as the original. Thought they ruined the t-rex part though where it turned into a mini boss battle with a health bar. Took the old feeling out of that part when you had to keep hiding and shooting the t-rex not knowing when it was going to die. Amazing soundtrack and creepy animal sounds for the animals. I love it all. :)

I remember playing this game with my dad when I was like 6 or something, and I always got passed the puzzles. He'd kick ass, I'd beat the puzzles, ah, good times. XD
Tomb raider by far, has some of my favorite soundtracks ever incorporated in my game-life experiences. Like, don't even get me started! I will end up writing a novel about how much I love the Tomb raider Soundtracks. Love my gameplay, but also the music!
Did you get the music from the actual PS game disc? You know, if you listen to some of the last few tracks there's secret tracks, and theres some audio from some of the later scenes as well. theres a really good action track that I would have loved to find on this playlist. My mum played this when she was pregnant with me, i grew up in a family who loved to play this game, we'd take it in turns, but i was too little to understand, now they watch me play and they laugh when i jump when the scary music starts :')

I remember playing this game with my dad when I was like 6 or something, and I always got passed the puzzles. He'd kick ass, I'd beat the puzzles, ah, good times. XD

Tomb raider by far, has some of my favorite soundtracks ever incorporated in my game-life experiences. Like, don't even get me started! I will end up writing a novel about how much I love the Tomb raider Soundtracks. Love my gameplay, but also the music!

Did you get the music from the actual PS game disc? You know, if you listen to some of the last few tracks there's secret tracks, and theres some audio from some of the later scenes as well. theres a really good action track that I would have loved to find on this playlist. Still, very nice job and thank you for posting this wonderful soundtrack <3

I'm so glad they added this to PSN! While I already own 2 copies of this game for the PC; it was an honour to buy this first nostalgic game once again. It still is and always will be my favourite of the series.

does anyone else think that this game should be remade on XBLA and the ps3 equivilant (i play xbox) but just have the graphics touched up to modern standards keep the rest EXACTLY the same?
and that the main theme is epic?

@walecs2 i actually think it would sell rea.lly well obviously theyd have to release them 1 by 1 to make sure it s profitable but i dont see why it wouldnt be i mean everyone likes TR so it should work i hope it comes to XBLA EXACTLY the sampe obviously with improved graphics XD

It's music like this that is what's missing from the newer tomb raider games and that is what makes them less memorable tomb raider hasn't been the same since it was handed over to crystal dynamics tomb raider should be put in its own tomb, Tomb Raider The Angel Of Darkness is the last decent Tomb Raider game

This song is so beautiful! These games are my LIFE!!! I beat the 2nd one when I was 2 and I've been playing ever since then!! And I must say, I pretty much rock at them. :)

This is the first game I played... EVER! I loved it so much I kept replaying it over and over again. Ah, I love this song. :D And may I say that it's way better than the one on Anniversary. I liked it but I preffer this one.

It was my first Playstation game too! I can't even describe how great it was when I started playing it the first time... I still dearly remember all the awesome places, Lost Valley, St. Francis Folly etc., and the music takes me back to those good times... Glad you appreciate it too. :)

I appreciate it too. That was my first PS game too. Then i bought 3 more - Grand Turismo 1, Castlevania:Symphony of the Night and some stupid fighter in Star Wars world that i just trowed after away when i saw how much i'm loosing my time with.
I played that game because i looking for the truth.
