He just bends on a pinch harmonic. Simple as that. You could probably do it too too, at least if you practice that for a while.

this is solid maybe not soo melodic as F. Miyata, but it's different styles. But really solid. with this technique you could play for most bands or create pieces i would listen to in videogames etc. for hours without getting distracted or bored. Like letting it soround u and consume u. Really nice. Next step might be direction of DreamTheater or SteveStevens or whatever. U rock!!

I guess the groove n the feeling of the riffs n all, like the use of long held notes, picking harmonics n stuff indeed remind me of Tak as well. Tak's recent playing is more down to earth kinda style as he got older but when he used to play his Yamaha he played a lot of crazy thing. check out Tak's Thousand Waves and Wanna Go Home. Very different to today's Matsumoto sound.

Tremolos are a lot of maintenance and can cause your guitar to go out of tune if abused. I dislike tremolos as well, I think too many people overuse them.
