Xfire is awesome for games that don't use vsync, as you can uncap the fps and play at high frames, and record the extra frames without capping your fps at 30 fps or 60fps with fraps, which usually brings massive slowdowns.
It has support for tons of games, even this not-so-popular RTS/MMO I play, Savage 2, and I was surprised.
I play this on a keyboard with my 2 5770s and a 4ghz core i5. The controls are more realistic and easier than Dirt 2, GTAIV, and GRID, and it's definitely more fun, less serious, has a great open world, and has awesome optimization for how good the game looks.
Best racing game I've played, and glad I took my friend's advice to try it.
I might record the game later with xfire, fraps caps my fps if I record at 30fps, or lags while recording 60 fps and playing LOL.
@games2007 i loved dirt 2 probably because i loved the entire coline mcrae series but yes i do agree it does take about an hour to get used to all the controls for it and different kind of driving
im use to a controller when i play racing games. my thumbs move fater than my pointer and middle finger (left and right arrows). all depends on preference. some people are actually good at playing racing games with a keyboard
Getting a new video card in a week or so, uh, "got" this game and thought I'd give it a try on my current system. Amazingly, I can run it on medium settings (but a low resolution) with my 128mb 8300 GS and still get nearly 60fps. Very optimized game.
I'm getting a 4650, best option for my Dell 531s (I bought this before I knew anything about computers, greatly regret it.)
I really enjoyed watching that man! Road Rage rules! I may be stuck with B3, Revenge and Dominator, but watching your video almost makes up for the amount of Burnout Paradise I'm missing out on!
5 stars for such a great video - I especially enjoyed watching it in HD. Added it to my favourites!
lol yeeeesss!! i loved that game! thats the same time AGP was starting to get big and PCGamer did a analysis on that game. PCI vs AGP graphics using G-Police as the benchmark. that game was so awesome at its time.
We had a windows 95 computer that costed about £1500, because it was the best you could get in that time, now I look back at it and think how bad it really was lol!
it may work. you may have to lower resolution and overall detail. there are some videos on youtube that show the performance with your card on the newer games, that may help with seeing what it can and cannot run.
suppose to man, in case your processor is good too, like minem i just have a crap 3450Hd but i can still playing this game in mediums etting without lagg, you know what , you cant really see the difference with the graphic from the lowest to the highest, the only thing that really shows is the shadow^^
Sick video, looks great. I never got into this on the PS3 but since my new build, I ordered it for PC in hopes that it will be a great game for PC.

@orangedrink Just got the game today, works great & it's pretty fun so far, love crashing all the time. >_> once I get over that, I'll race.

@bIindly Nope. I was using an xbox360 controller connected to my PC. Racing games with keyboard is hard for me.

Is the steering and control good with a gampad/controller for this game? Or is the keyboard mouse much better?

This game is epic! 8D xD
I noticed that in this video that the anti-alais is alot better then the console version of this on 360.
I think that the PC version is better than console in my opinion because this game looks great with AA.
williamday247 2 years ago
agreed. AA on max makes everything sooo smooth. i still remember the days when AA was not around. jaggies galore :D
orangedrink 2 years ago
lol Yep
Ever played a game called G-Police for the PC?
It was released in 1997 and it was like todays Crysis lol!

haha i remeber mine. almost 2 grand for pentium 200mhz mmx. 17 inch screen with speakers connected to it, it was a packard bell.
orangedrink 2 years ago
Oh man, I remember G-Police! Got the PC Gamer demo of it. Didn't really like the gameplay all that much, but the graphics were sweet for back then.
kbrasee 2 years ago
totally agree! the lighting effects, explosions, AGP. Thats when PC gaming was at its greatest. I want those days back.
orangedrink 2 years ago
If I'm correct, 360 has very limited AA.
Lunarvx22 2 years ago
nice video
but this game is not demanding at all(like many other cross platform games like fear2 etc)
it does not need hd4870x2 and probably can't even use it
I played it before on 1680x1050,4xAA,all max(except SSAO)on my previous HD3870 and it was running very very smooth.
in fact strangely it probably was running even a bit better than on my current hd4870 card.
and ssao is strange in this game.if I turn it on it stutters a lot even though FRAPS always shows high fps!
do you play with SSAO on?
JBLTU 2 years ago
thanks. yes. i do have ssao on. it doesnt do anything to the framerate.
