We concern ourselves with everybody elses business. That is our biggest financial drain. If your neighbors house is on fire you would go help him. Do you continue to help him if during this time your own home suddenly is also on fire? Obama now is threatening cuts in medicare/medicaid and has mentioned SS. Another broken promise. Obama has furthered GW Bushs" policies and added Libya to the mix. Thnx Mr. Pres. for nothing!!!
Obama would almost be making sense here except for the fact that his healthcare plan is designed to push everyone into a government run system. How is that going to do anything but drive government costs up even higher ??
Real estate for sale: The United States. Fixer upper. Current and previous landlords went insane and trashed the place. Must take over mathematically impossible payments. Serious offers only.
Americas biggest liar, he is a CIA opprative on a mission to destroy the USA and install Marxism with a cheezy smile for te big corporations, he is a wolf in sheeps clothing and a member of the fabian society..
Just like the banker bailouts would have caused martial law if not enacted? More scare tactics from these rotten basturds. WHO CARES IF THE GOVERNMENT GOES BROKE? My concern is for my COUNTRY, not the GOVERNMENT. We'd all be better off without these extortionists ruining our lives anyway.
That's why we have elections. Some Americans think we should put all our money into killing innocent people. Some Americans think we should put all our money into saving people's lives.
Private, voluntary charity is the way to reform healthcare. How many of you out there think that Americans who are uninsured need help? Why is it you feel that way? Would you personally donate to a charitable cause to help them out? Why does everyone seem to think government force is the only way to achieve charity? If the government takes $5 in taxes from you, $2 go towards bureaucrats, and $3 goes towards the cause. Why not get all $5 towards the cause?
Why should only the virtuous contribute to health care that benefits everyone?
If everybody contributes a little, nobody has to pay a lot and end up bankrupt. Right now, under the Republican Plan, 60% of personal bankruptcies are the direct result of crippling medical bills. That's outrageous. Every other advanced country in the world thinks we're nuts to have the system we do.
If Senate Republicans allow the Senate to vote and we pass a rational health care system, we'll all have more money (except for the insurance companies) and we will all be able to afford to increase our charitable donations.
America can do its part for the world by convincing smart young people to stop screwing around on Wall Street and start building great new industries so that the world will have smart places to invest their money.
Or they could work on the problem of creating greater transparency where we really need it: in the financial services industry.
Problems like the Iceland bankruptcy shouldn't be allowed to happen. That's the direct result of too much money being managed by too few hands.
If a bank is too big to fail, it's too big to exist.
And that requires more sophisticated anti-trust regulation.
If a corporation wants to commit suicide in their office, that's great. But we shouldn't allow them to do it with explosive devices so big that they take down the entire office building (i.e. the global economy).
hahahaha. only fools want government to run our healthcare system. The President won't use it, Congress won't use it, but we'll have to. This guys comments are idiotic and void of fact. Having a government healthcare may bankrupt the country but not having it will just mean we continue to have the greatest healthcare on the planet.
Just because we need reform doesn't mean that we have to go about it stupidly, which is what the Senate and House plans do. If either plan were to become law, Americans would yearn for the "good old days" for years to come.
I like President Obama, but in this case, he is speaking pure rubbish. The bill provides absolutely nothing that would change the way Americans consume health care. So the cost per covered person cannot go down. In addition, it would increase the number of covered people. For the bill to improve federal government finances in the long run would be mathematically impossible.
Wow, okay. I guess that only way to fix government run programs is to create another program, and pump billions of tax dollars into it....hmm....this make total sense o_O NOT!!! I wanted to believe in this administration, but now I just can't. We need reform, but not like this. I hope that this welfare state administration is voted out in the next term. We need REAL change....not this crap! Obama administration=EPIC FAIL!!!
The Fed Gov is bankrupt not because of health-care costs, but because Dept of Defense budget is 750Billion.
Fascism = a system of government whereby citizens relinquish our Rights or money for the greater good of society in favor of bureaucracy & corporatism. as I remember from college government class, like rule by the monopolies= Federal Reserve Bernanke & Pentagon Bob Gates.
@joskemom - That is the point of the cabinet and other presidental advisors. He dosn't make this statement off the top of his head - he requests the leading individuals in the country research the topic and report back to him. Everything says that were going to be spending huge amounts without some reform over the next decade. His plan looks like the best option. The CBO and other offices agree - from a purely financial standpoint.
Hey wizard, get a grip. Saying that the govt will go bankrupt if we dont pass his anti private sector, govt take over all bill is silly and meant to scare the faint of heart. No one with brains takes this threat serious. The majority of the people dont went this obamahealthcare crap. And I dont need an elementry lecture of how a Pres consults with advisers.
@joskemom - Well its estimated that only 15-20% of Americans will actually use the public option - 80+% will be private sector ... so the bill isnt anti-private sector. So with that - the current system stays in place. Last thing: not sure why you think the bill is a threat - check out the CBO report on the bill released in Nov. They say it will reduce the deficit by 158 billion and provide health care to more Americans than any other option currently. Its a good option, maybe not the best.
Hey wizard, the public option was dropped in the Senate bill and at this time N Polosi says it is off the table in the final joint bill. The public option at this time appears to be dead and for good reason. The public option was an entry for the govt to control almost every aspect of peoples lives and yes it is anti private sector. But lets cut to the chase--Obamacare is about govt control.
I dont agree with everything hes doing but I think something needs to be done. I think you could agree with that - and even without the public option the bill will reduce the deficit. One large problem however is that individuals who aren't insured are taxing the rest of the country. And even if something isn't done medicare will be bankrupt of cash in 2018 which means more people. I don't see how you think it will control us - other than requiring people to have basic health insurance.
@Wizardanim ,what should not be done is restructure the entire health system. Universal healhcare does not work any where in the world. What could be done is tort reform-put a cap on malpractice suits, portability- allow people to buy insurance from outside their state. Tax credits to companies that provide very good insurance to their employees. You do not want the govt in control of anything so important. Everything the govt operates is inefficient.
@Wizardanim also the act of forcing people to have basic health insurance does not fix the problem because nothing comes for free. Also the idea that the govt requires every citizen to pay for a service contradicts the idea of freedom since one could go to jail if he does not pay. Yea, that is in the bill. The immeidate influx of people on the health system with the limited doctors we have now will mean limited and rationed care. When the govt gives what you need, it can take what you want.
@joskemom - You seem to think that there will be no private companies, "When the govt gives what you need, it can take what you want. " They dont have complete control with this bill. Private companies operate very similarly as they are today, and still would hold a large majority of health care clients(75%+). The govt cant take that away, and were only offering the public option as an alternative. The main problem is the cost and I agree it could get out of hand but could also help millions.
Hey wizard, you only address a tiny portion of the responses I give to your questions. You are so drawned to the public option part. If it is so damn good, then why did the senate drop it and why is it going to be left out of the total bill? Why do you think so many people rebelled against the public option? This bill will NOT help millions. Universal healthcare is failing in every country it is used in. Grow up and stop thinking that govt is going to solve your problems.
Everyone who knows anything knows that what he is saying is true.
If Senator Scott Brown blocks health care reform it will be national suicide. The total cost of health care grows rapidly every single year because we *have* *no* *system*.
Hey reliable, maybe Obama scared the hell out of you or maybe you fall for his line of crap, but the majority of America knows that Obama and his govt take over of health bill would of ruined the America infrastructure. How ironice, just as healthcare had a chance, the senator that pushed it his whole life dies and is replaced by a guy who could end it. Obama was really in a hurry to pass this all last year, but he failed.
Obama like many of the past presidents is a joke. His spending is going to destroy America.
I dont know how you believe Obama is fixing debt, and I dont know if you think banks and drug companies are morons, but whatever Obama gives you is nothing but debt.
2. working to provide Americans with the same kind of high quality low cost health care system that every other advanced nation has so that health care won't bankrupt the country
and by
3. stimulating the economy.
Don't you read the papers?
You have to spend money to make money. That's capitalism, something the Republicans seem to have forgotten how to do.
The banks had a great idea. It went like this. This is America, everyone has a right to a home. No job, no problem have a house.
The more money thats spent and printed out of thin air causes inflation, destroying the dollar. When we had a gold standard banks could not get access to trillions.
Gold is a great example of this, as a result of this dramatic spending from both rep and dems, you need allot more dollars to buy that same amount of gold.
I understand where you are coming from maybe going back to the gold standard isnt the best option.
But where Im coming from is the economic problems are a result of to much spending, and in order to fix it in the short term the obvious answer was to put trillions of dollars under the economy to prop it up which is working. But what Im saying is if to much spending was the problem, all this spending Obama proposes wont fix anything long run. The only solution is to stop ineffective spending
No it's not capitalism! You build capital by saving it's the only way! Credit gets us nowhere! Cut taxes, reduce debt, cut wasteful governt spending!! Stimulating the economy by bailing out big business with your tax dollars will get us nowhere. It's delaying the inevitable . Obama is doing NOTHING.
The booms are created by too much credit , eg; the housing bubble.
Depressions = Correction The correction needs to happen because too much credit entered the system. We are refusing to let it correct and we are going to pay dearly.
Previously owned home sales are at a 8 month low, down 7.2 %,, unemployment is at 20%. There is no recovery. It's a complete sham. Stimulus isn't helping. We are heading into the next great depression. The deficit is going to grow by 2 trillion this year!
no the banks need glass steagall back and audit the fed with treasury oversight, making bigger pools of people will drive the price down, health insurance is a service the gov doesnt' have the right to force people to buy a product or service if they force it what next, we all buy pelosi brand soda pop? i won't it'd probably be laced w/arsenic! un-constitutional, dangerous assed precedent
I admit that Single Payer (which is cheaper and which all advanced nations have and which I would prefer) would be mandatory taxation like school taxes paid by people who don't have children. But that's true of all government. Pacifists pay taxes to finance endless wars. Liberals paid taxes that allowed Reagan to finance and train terrorist groups in Afghanistan.
When someone murders his girlfriend and gets arrested, in a sense, that's government regulation, too.
Wall Street and the banking industry have just shown us beyond a shadow of a doubt that they are incapable of functioning without some oversight by the American People. We need an SEC, Securities and Exchange Commission, and we need the Fed (which does oversight of the banks) but clearly even that's not enough.
If the ingredients and nutrition labels on food are actually accurate, I can make intelligent choices. That's government regulation and it *creates* a free market--it doesn't destroy it--because it tells me what's in the box and I no longer have to subserviently rely on "trusting" one or two major brands, one or two multi-national corporations (who might not really have any loyalty to America, or to my health as an American, anyway).
@ReliableInsider yes i agree, i had a sushi queen try to tell me ALL food should be organic, i think labeling is the FREE CHOICE then if people want to chew pesticides and chemicals, they're FREE to..
@ReliableInsider god this makes me sick, MARXIST TAKEOVER, actually he's working for the corp, world socialists, he agreed to a compromise yesterday, know any details?
@ReliableInsider yes i was reading about one of the aig craftmasters toxic derivative bubble builders on business insider the other day i forgot his name, these are financial terrorists in my opinion
I don't know what the Republicans are doing. We had a complete moral breakdown in the financial services industry and we should all be on the same side on this. We need reform. And fast!
I don't understand why the Republicans are stalling. With criminality rampant, the super-rich are hurt just as badly as the poor.
We need a ton of financial services industry reform. And the Republicans are trying to shut the government down.
It's as though they want the global economy to fail just so that people will blame Obama because they think that that will somehow help their chances in the next election. Excuse me. Damaging the economy doesn't win them any points with me. I think the RNC needs new political consultants. Or maybe some new spiritual advisers.
BlackListed News directs readers to stories in all kinds of news outlets, but it, too, seems to have a bias against the Democratic Party.
Party bias is so powerful that it can skew all of our perceptions because we are skeptical of what one party says and we automatically accept what the other parties say.
I'm not sure what the cure is for political bias.
For example, I don't ever believe a single thing that comes out of the Heritage Foundation . . . and they publish a ton.
Your giving Obama too much credit. He is not the one running things, our government like so many others are sell outs. Big money holds all the power and until we start looking beyond this two party system and take over our government things will never change. I have followed Zimbabwe last year during there election and Robert is more like Bush.
I drove a 98 Sable that was payed off. I had 236,000 miles on it when it finally died. At the time my job was 45 minutes away. So not having a car wasn't and option. My credit history (or the fact that I didn't have one at the time) is why my payments are what they are. Though I will say that I saved in gas the difference in the payments. Before I paid off the sable I was paying $50/wk. My current vehicle is a 07 Malibu
15.7% unemployment in my county. I put in upwards of 30 resumes. The current place I work at already cut 50% of the staff. My rate, if broken down hourly is $8/hr before taxes.
The Republicans think a good job is 9 bucks an hour part-time, no bebefits at Walmart selling foreign produce and hawking chinese trinkets. Or McDonalds at 8 bucks an hour no benefits selling australian beef.
They sent all the good jobs that had any benefits, overseas to save a nickel.
Screw these asswipes. Reagan, was the biggest asswipe of all of them as he started this bull crap.
Why should we believe this? He's lied about other things already and he's only been in there a year.
he's guaranteeing what will happen if it isnt passed. How is guaranteed if it does pass? My insurance rates have already gone up, and I dont believe that they will go down if this passes. I dont believe him.
C he says FEDERAL GOV will go BANKRUPT. NOt the feral reseve the federal GOV has been BANKRUPT so long thats why the Federal reserve had to bail the Federal GOV out, and thats wen the GOV got thier azz hand to the NON federal Reserve, checkmate! Listen he is threating the GOV tats Y he says wat will happene if it doesnt pass the reserve gives him his agenda and the congress and senate listens
C ya'll cant read beyond the lines if they dont pass it the federal gov will go bankrupt. hummm who owns the money not the federal GOV, its the reserve, so since the reserve owns the money and it doesnt pass, the non federal reserve will make everything go up so its a threat since he represents the federal reserve not the USA people. We been bankrupt fo decades since the dollar is Debt not worth. We only tRANSFER DEBT NOT pay it off
The country is broke, we borrow, and Obamasays we have spend more or we will be bankrupt, can he count. The majority of Americans DO NOT WANT HEALTH CARE REFORM, or any other of his tax and spend socialist ideas, he claims to have a mandate from the people, 52%, but will not listen to a new mandate of at least 61% who say NO. He must dislike America, trashing our country all over the world, Putin screwed him, and Iran is doing the same thing, etc. A genius, I don't think so.
No you're wrong. Where are you comming from, a hatred of gov't or Obama. The truth is that big insurance will raise your premiums 10 fold in the next five years. Is that what you want????
Do you people actually understand what happens if the Federal Government goes bankrupt? No money to pay off debt leads to national catastrophe. Which in turn means that the Dollar will be worthless around the world. The ONLY way to salvage our country would be to neutralize the dollar, get rid of it completely, for another currency. The money you own, in your pocket or in the bank, would be worthless. EVERYONE not owning Gold would be flat broke.
I don't understand how putting more entitlements into the federal budget reduces the deficit. Obama may have a very difficult time getting re-elected: lunatic-fringe liberals will accuse him of not doing enough to change us into Soviet Union of America, and the "Whole Foods" democrats who voted for him in 2008 are slowly going to realize that they can't shop at Whole Foods anymore because of inflation and taxes.
I make $1133/mo. I have a $150/mo car insurance bill, $272/mo car payment, $80/mo in gas for that car, $75/mo utilities, $75/mo grocery bill, and $450/mo rent. I work 40 hrs per week and get no benefits. So can I buy health insurance for $31/mo? I didn't think so. So what happens to me and others like me if I get sick?
@JoeDSileo1988 said "I have no insurance what do I do if I get sick"
Are there no clinics in your area. Have you called doctors offices to see if you can get a cash discount because you are uninsued. If you need emergency medical treatment it can not be refused by law.
Hey joe1988, you make less than 300 a week. I dont know if you flip burgers or anything but what did you expect to get out of life when you make so little money? I have seen insurance co advertise on tv that will charge 60-70 a month. Your main concern should be to learn a marketable skill that can actually enhance your life.
u are a complete liar obama. this healthcare bill has nothing in it that would reduce the deficit. it has no public option. and the reason why it doesn't, is not because u couldnt get ur "bi-partisan" bs 60 votes. but it was because you sir, lack the political courage and determination to fight for the progressive agendas that u promised voters u would work for. if this bill as it stands passes, you have only made the current situation worst not better. and ur base will not forget it in 2012.
@augford , You didnt get a stim. check huh? Well pray you little liberal that your president doesnt knock us back into the stone ages! Dont you see what you voted for? God Bless You!
Nobama says " If we dont pass Obama care this country will go bankrupt"? Its estimated that the 1 trillion cost over ten years will really be 6 TRILLION! We are in a recession and he is spending like a bored housewife! Unemployement has TRIPLED since he took office! And more than half of America doesnt want healthcare reform!!!!!!!
One of the worst moves Obama could have made for himself. On the other hand it's a revealing and rare glimps inside the real Obama. The Corporatist. He was a great actor.
The govt will go bankrupt if this moron gets his way with destroying our economy. About 61% of the people do not want this crappy bill passing but Obama is more concerned about making history than he is about taking the time to pass a real healthbill that could work for the people. This bill is nothing about taking control of our life style.
Hey Reliab, what part of hell do you guys get the idea that healthcare is the problem with the economy? Tax, spend, borrow, and print (you know the stim bill) is the problem with the econ. Under Obama we have gone from 7.7 to 10.2%. The more the govt gets in the way the worse the econ, remember it was that stupid fanni/fredie fiasco that ingnited all of this.
@augford , that was the 455 billion stimulus that most everybody just stuck into their savings acc. At least we all got a check and not a kick in the ass(nothing) :(
Hey atrip, I could be wrong but the govt pushing the banks to make loans to people who cant pay them, and the Dems fighing to keep this fanie/fredie crap from being disolved led to the mortgage near finacial failure. And yea it then became a free for all for all of the greedy money grabbers like Franklin Rains--an Obama supportor.
You are wrong. Business runs the show not big bad government. Corporations cultivate hate for government so they can have monopolist tyranny. Sub prime was profit.
Ok atrip, calm down. You just said corporations cultivate hate for govt. Actually the govt cultivates hate of itself by its own inept failings. But the 'evil corp' whinning is not new. Those who can do, those who cant blame the 'evil corp' for controlling the govt. Remember it is the govt that takes your money in taxes, not the corps. The more money the govt tax, the less freedoms the people have.
Wow you are one bad debater. So PR wasn't invented to manufacture consent? Capitalists need government protection from the minority. They collude with government so they don't have to take risk. That's not risk or competition that's fascism and you support it.
Hey atrip, you make absolutely no sense. I am part of a corporation and no, we dont "collude with the govt". Every sentence you wrote was ridiculous. I am not going to waste my time with you.
Are you part of the Chamber of Commerce. They lobby government on behalf of corporations. You should watch what you say on youtube i agree because your ass in owned!!
Under Obama unemployment has gone from 7.7% to 10.2%. That's a great victory. Economists were very worried that, as a result of the Great Depression, unemployment might go from 7.7% to 25%.
Another statistic:
Under Obama, GDP went from negative 6% to positive 6%.
Obama stopped a train with his bare hands. He averted the Great Depression.
Now it's time for the private sector to start creating jobs . . . if it is capable of doing so.
hey reliable, what twisted logic calls rising unemployment a great victory? Saying that Obama saved us from a depression that could have reached 25% only works on slow thinking people. Obama's policies can lead us to a depression Job creation comes from the pirvate sector, but Obama is crippling the private sector with his govt take all agenda. Govt can not give to any American unless it takes from another American. The private sector would plead for the govt to get the hell out of the way.
What Obama said in the beginning about Employers dropping paying for health insurance and making you pay the full price for health insurance is true. My last job the owner of the company went from paying small percentages of it to paying no percent of the coverage and just making his employees pay for Health Insurance because he couldn't afford to pay for parts of the insurance.
I think it's time we all figured out that we have to move past the two party paradigm, and coalesce as free people who will fight to stay that way. Again, there is only the CFR party.
The liar sat there and admitted that Medicare and Medicaid are going broke, both run by the government, and then said you have to support this health care bill because it will consume the entire federal budget. Why don't people see the real problem here? Ponzi schemes are like lies, you have to create another to cover the last one, and so on...
The problem is not health care reform, it's government reform. Thieves and bankers, same thing, are looting the people and using the money against us.
Everone look up "speech and logic fallacies" In 1 minute and 6 seconds there are no less that six classis/textbook examples in what the president said. These are cheap and transparent debate tactics that a High School debate teachers wouuld flunk a student for using. How sad.
Remember when Curious George said if the Stimulus bill was signed, unemployment would not go above 8%? Does this type of comment sound familiar? What a liar. Mobilize this upcoming election year. Pray this Jack-ass does not get re-elected in 2012! I don't want to hear you Libs crying about the "Curious George" comment, you fools called Bush a monkey for years!
Are you so smart that you think you even elect the "president"? That's funny. There is only one party now, the CFR party. You will get who they want you to get. That's the problem.
I won't argue with you about that. If we're really a nation that elects our leaders, we need to vote anybody but the top two names on the ballot for a few cycles. Electing third-party/independent candidates would render moot issues like campaign finance reform and term limits. Then we'd see some real change. Got any suggestions on how we convince the electorate to do just that?
But we are not a nation who elects our leaders. The electoral college does, and it has been distorted for decades. We need to return to the original system, but how? That is the question. If we continue on the path we are on, we wil wind up broke and homeless on the continent our ancestors founded, just as they predicted. It's the central bank issue, right? Who owns the Fed, and why? bush wasn't dumb, and obama isn't smart. Just evil little puppets. How do you convince the people of that?
The electoral college is composed of members in the Senate and the House, all of whom are elected, no?
I'll object and say Bush was pretty stupid. But I don't think Barrack is too far behind. And the fact that he's related to Cheney only increases my suspicions about the whole process. Obama came up from nowhere. You're right -- the CFR, or Bilderberg, etc. embedded him into the consciousness with clear intent to quell the angry masses.
We already know that 12 bankers own the FED, correct?
No, the electors are appointed by party affiliation, by the party they represent. It's usually based on loyalty and probably bought and paid for like so many other aspects of government. I think bush played a good dummy, to piss people off and set the stage for obama. That seems to be the CFR way. The Fed is owned by 12 or more bankers, some of whom are not US ctiizens. How screwed up is that?
It's a totalitarian oligarchy. People are waking up, but will enough?
Wow, I learned something new. Thanks :) I have long believed that our government is nothing short of a sanctioned mafia. The supreme court case Stanton v. Baltic Mining clearly explains how the 16th amendment conferred no new powers of taxation (to wit, the income tax). Yet, "honorable lawyers" (i.e., judges) all over the country are willing to look past the supreme court's decision (and this is but one of several) and continue jailing people for not paying their unconstitutional income tax.
Libs are smarter mrbhave? Is increasing our national debt, cap and trade, a stimulus bill that is doing nothing but adding more debt, Guantanamo, a piece of crap health care bill that even Howard Dean says is garbage, smart? Socialism has failed EVERYWHERE it has been tried. This fool we have as a president is destroying our country.
C'mon, with the exception of expanding health care, republicans are guilty of the same. Reagan tripled the national debt, both Bush's doubled the debt (each), and all increased the size of government; none of which is considered "conservative."
I don't think it's just the fool in charge. I think all of our elected government employees are guilty of corruption and possibly treason.
But getting a court order to have them arrested is like getting the mob to turn itself into the authorities.
I agree with you for the most part mrbhave. Some of your figures are incorrect though. The only solution is for The Republican party to get back to it's conservative roots. It doesn't matter who governs, we are in end times. This crap can't be stopped. It really doesn't matter. I just hope it's true that Christ will come back and take us away from all this non-sense.
I never mentioned the budget deficit. I'm specifically referring to the more important value of the two: the national debt. In 1980, the debt was 907,701,000,000.00. In 1988, when Reagan finally left office, the debt was 2,602,337,712,041.16, nearly triple the 1980 figure.
You were the one complaining about my numbers. So now that I've made you look stupid by showing you the facts, this is the best you can do for a comeback? Tsk, tsk, too much Fox News killed your brain cells.
Seems to me, Ron Paul had too many solutions for you knuckleheaded neo-cons to wrap your shallow minds around...otherwise, you all would have voted for him (instead of that weasel, McSame) in the primaries. But hey, I'm sure Sarah Palin will be embraced by the country...yeah right.
Oh! You're so smart mrbhave! Shallow minds? Why don't you quit complaining and get off your ass and run for president? You hate conservatives, you hate liberals, what do you like? What's your solution? YOU DON'T HAVE ONE! Ron Paul is a squirrel that will never be elected president of this country. He's not a leader.
If you think Reagan or the Bush duo are conservatives, you're pretty ignorant. I just explained WHY they aren't conservative. Fiscal conservatism, smaller government, and a humble foreign policy are but a few of the solutions I have, all of which are embraced by the "squirrel," none of which were embraced by those posers who think the represent conservatism.
Listen to some of Reagan's speeches from the early sixties mrbhave. He was a Conservative, PERIOD. How do you know who I voted for? How do you know it was not independant candidates? You think you know everything. A "humble" foreign policy is weak and doesn't kill terrorists.
You're obviously not familiar with adage, "actions speak louder than words." And the fact that you believed he was a conservative -- just because he told you -- makes you gullible. It doesn't take a Ph.D. to read through your neo-con talking points.
You're a bible-thumper, yet you're prepared to kill people just because the morons in charge label them "terrorists." What happened to "thou shalt not kill?" Oh, I forgot, you hypocrites only have a problem with killing fetuses. Don't vote.
Not a "Bible-Thumper", I'm a Christian asshole. I believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour. Personally, I wish he would cut your heart out and shove it down your throat you piece of trash! You are a spineless scum-bag. I won't respond to your comment, NOW GO SCREW YOURSELF! Bet you didn't know Born-Again-Christians could be so harsh! Ha-ha!! I guess you think it's ok to kill innocent babies, and leave the piece of garbage terrorists alone. Go form your third party and lose an election.

The Tea party? Ever notice they are rich people who drive up in a $30,000 SUV to a tea party to gripe about paying taxes, for health care!
Would the taxes cost more than their SUV?
If we raise taxes for the rich, the rich will not starve at the end of the month.
But if you lower taxes, food stamps goes down, for all 43 million!
There are too many people who run on taxes. It's been a bad few years!
Not a good time to do something that does not work!

Kremlin1813,
Why should only the virtuous contribute to health care that benefits everyone?

Wizardanim 2 years ago
Hey wizard, get a grip. Saying that the govt will go bankrupt if we dont pass his anti private sector, govt take over all bill is silly and meant to scare the faint of heart. No one with brains takes this threat serious. The majority of the people dont went this obamahealthcare crap. And I dont need an elementry lecture of how a Pres consults with advisers.
joskemom 2 years ago
@joskemom - Well its estimated that only 15-20% of Americans will actually use the public option - 80+% will be private sector ... so the bill isnt anti-private sector. So with that - the current system stays in place. Last thing: not sure why you think the bill is a threat - check out the CBO report on the bill released in Nov. They say it will reduce the deficit by 158 billion and provide health care to more Americans than any other option currently. Its a good option, maybe not the best.
Wizardanim 2 years ago
Hey wizard, the public option was dropped in the Senate bill and at this time N Polosi says it is off the table in the final joint bill. The public option at this time appears to be dead and for good reason. The public option was an entry for the govt to control almost every aspect of peoples lives and yes it is anti private sector. But lets cut to the chase--Obamacare is about govt control.
joskemom 2 years ago
I dont agree with everything hes doing but I think something needs to be done. I think you could agree with that - and even without the public option the bill will reduce the deficit. One large problem however is that individuals who aren't insured are taxing the rest of the country. And even if something isn't done medicare will be bankrupt of cash in 2018 which means more people. I don't see how you think it will control us - other than requiring people to have basic health insurance.
Wizardanim 2 years ago
@Wizardanim ,what should not be done is restructure the entire health system. Universal healhcare does not work any where in the world. What could be done is tort reform-put a cap on malpractice suits, portability- allow people to buy insurance from outside their state. Tax credits to companies that provide very good insurance to their employees. You do not want the govt in control of anything so important. Everything the govt operates is inefficient.
joskemom 2 years ago
@Wizardanim also the act of forcing people to have basic health insurance does not fix the problem because nothing comes for free. Also the idea that the govt requires every citizen to pay for a service contradicts the idea of freedom since one could go to jail if he does not pay. Yea, that is in the bill. The immeidate influx of people on the health system with the limited doctors we have now will mean limited and rationed care. When the govt gives what you need, it can take what you want.
joskemom 2 years ago
@joskemom - You seem to think that there will be no private companies, "When the govt gives what you need, it can take what you want. " They dont have complete control with this bill. Private companies operate very similarly as they are today, and still would hold a large majority of health care clients(75%+). The govt cant take that away, and were only offering the public option as an alternative. The main problem is the cost and I agree it could get out of hand but could also help millions.
Wizardanim 2 years ago
Hey wizard, you only address a tiny portion of the responses I give to your questions. You are so drawned to the public option part. If it is so damn good, then why did the senate drop it and why is it going to be left out of the total bill? Why do you think so many people rebelled against the public option? This bill will NOT help millions. Universal healthcare is failing in every country it is used in. Grow up and stop thinking that govt is going to solve your problems.
joskemom 2 years ago
joskemom,
Everyone who knows anything knows that what he is saying is true.

3. stimulating the economy.

The banks had a great idea. It went like this. This is America, everyone has a right to a home. No job, no problem have a house.
The more money thats spent and printed out of thin air causes inflation, destroying the dollar. When we had a gold standard banks could not get access to trillions.
Gold is a great example of this, as a result of this dramatic spending from both rep and dems, you need allot more dollars to buy that same amount of gold.
why are health insurance stocks up?

ReliableInsider 1 year ago
I understand where you are coming from maybe going back to the gold standard isnt the best option.
But where Im coming from is the economic problems are a result of to much spending, and in order to fix it in the short term the obvious answer was to put trillions of dollars under the economy to prop it up which is working. But what Im saying is if to much spending was the problem, all this spending Obama proposes wont fix anything long run. The only solution is to stop ineffective spending
cancanbiker 1 year ago
No it's not capitalism! You build capital by saving it's the only way! Credit gets us nowhere! Cut taxes, reduce debt, cut wasteful governt spending!! Stimulating the economy by bailing out big business with your tax dollars will get us nowhere. It's delaying the inevitable . Obama is doing NOTHING.
CliveSinclairZX 1 year ago
CliveSinclairZX,
What you're saying is that, under your approach, a second Great Depression is "inevitable".
I think that shows the failing of your approach.
There is no more efficient way to create massive inefficiency in a capitalist system than to allow a Great Depression.
With the liquidity crisis, the economy completely stopped for several months. With a Great Depression the economy could completely stop for years!
That would be WASTE on a scale that is almost Biblical.
ReliableInsider 1 year ago
The booms are created by too much credit , eg; the housing bubble.
Depressions = Correction The correction needs to happen because too much credit entered the system. We are refusing to let it correct and we are going to pay dearly.

Sunlight is the best disinfectant.

augford 2 years ago
@augford , that was the 455 billion stimulus that most everybody just stuck into their savings acc. At least we all got a check and not a kick in the ass(nothing) :(
RangRing68 2 years ago
Ha ha you are lying to yourself. It's was deregulation of derivatives and everyone knows it shill.
atripa645 2 years ago
Hey atrip, I could be wrong but the govt pushing the banks to make loans to people who cant pay them, and the Dems fighing to keep this fanie/fredie crap from being disolved led to the mortgage near finacial failure. And yea it then became a free for all for all of the greedy money grabbers like Franklin Rains--an Obama supportor.
joskemom 2 years ago
You are wrong. Business runs the show not big bad government. Corporations cultivate hate for government so they can have monopolist tyranny. Sub prime was profit.
atripa645 2 years ago
Ok atrip, calm down. You just said corporations cultivate hate for govt. Actually the govt cultivates hate of itself by its own inept failings. But the 'evil corp' whinning is not new. Those who can do, those who cant blame the 'evil corp' for controlling the govt. Remember it is the govt that takes your money in taxes, not the corps. The more money the govt tax, the less freedoms the people have.
joskemom 2 years ago
Wow you are one bad debater. So PR wasn't invented to manufacture consent? Capitalists need government protection from the minority. They collude with government so they don't have to take risk. That's not risk or competition that's fascism and you support it.
atripa645 2 years ago
Hey atrip, you make absolutely no sense. I am part of a corporation and no, we dont "collude with the govt". Every sentence you wrote was ridiculous. I am not going to waste my time with you.
joskemom 2 years ago
Are you part of the Chamber of Commerce. They lobby government on behalf of corporations. You should watch what you say on youtube i agree because your ass in owned!!

joskemom,
Under Obama unemployment has gone from 7.7% to 10.2%.

How does this bill address medicare and social security spending?
Slash417 2 years ago

I don't want to hear you Libs crying about the "Curious George" comment, you fools called Bush a monkey for years!
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
This jackass won't be re-elected because the "libs" are smarter than the neo-cons, who re-elected the dumbest president in history.
mrbhave 2 years ago
Are you so smart that you think you even elect the "president"? That's funny. There is only one party now, the CFR party. You will get who they want you to get. That's the problem.
TheIndoctriNATION 2 years ago
I won't argue with you about that. If we're really a nation that elects our leaders, we need to vote anybody but the top two names on the ballot for a few cycles. Electing third-party/independent candidates would render moot issues like campaign finance reform and term limits. Then we'd see some real change. Got any suggestions on how we convince the electorate to do just that?
mrbhave 2 years ago
But we are not a nation who elects our leaders. The electoral college does, and it has been distorted for decades. We need to return to the original system, but how? That is the question. If we continue on the path we are on, we wil wind up broke and homeless on the continent our ancestors founded, just as they predicted. It's the central bank issue, right? Who owns the Fed, and why? bush wasn't dumb, and obama isn't smart. Just evil little puppets. How do you convince the people of that?
TheIndoctriNATION 2 years ago
The electoral college is composed of members in the Senate and the House, all of whom are elected, no?
I'll object and say Bush was pretty stupid. But I don't think Barrack is too far behind. And the fact that he's related to Cheney only increases my suspicions about the whole process. Obama came up from nowhere. You're right -- the CFR, or Bilderberg, etc. embedded him into the consciousness with clear intent to quell the angry masses.
We already know that 12 bankers own the FED, correct?
mrbhave 2 years ago

The IRS makes the mafia look like honest business men.
I haven't read the Constitition one time where it began with We the Government of the United States, in order to...
Have you? Nah. We the People have a lot of work to do.

This fool we have as a president is destroying our country.
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
C'mon, with the exception of expanding health care, republicans are guilty of the same. Reagan tripled the national debt, both Bush's doubled the debt (each), and all increased the size of government; none of which is considered "conservative."
I don't think it's just the fool in charge. I think all of our elected government employees are guilty of corruption and possibly treason.
But getting a court order to have them arrested is like getting the mob to turn itself into the authorities.
mrbhave 2 years ago
I agree with you for the most part mrbhave. Some of your figures are incorrect though. The only solution is for The Republican party to get back to it's conservative roots. It doesn't matter who governs, we are in end times. This crap can't be stopped. It really doesn't matter. I just hope it's true that Christ will come back and take us away from all this non-sense.
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
Most religions claim their savior will return to Earth and save all believers from the current "non-sense," as you put it.
Appreciate the fact that we're all just lucky to be here, no matter what/who created it.
mrbhave 2 years ago
By the way, which of my figures do you say are incorrect?
mrbhave 2 years ago
Reagan did not triple the national debt. You need to know the difference between a budget deficit and the national debt.
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
I never mentioned the budget deficit. I'm specifically referring to the more important value of the two: the national debt. In 1980, the debt was 907,701,000,000.00. In 1988, when Reagan finally left office, the debt was 2,602,337,712,041.16, nearly triple the 1980 figure.
Still unconvinced? treasurydirect (.) gov / govt / reports / pd / histdebt / histdebt_histo4 (.) htm

The only thing I'm convinced of is, You are just another Ron Paul fool that sits around and complains about everything and offer no solutions.
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
You were the one complaining about my numbers. So now that I've made you look stupid by showing you the facts, this is the best you can do for a comeback? Tsk, tsk, too much Fox News killed your brain cells.
Seems to me, Ron Paul had too many solutions for you knuckleheaded neo-cons to wrap your shallow minds around...otherwise, you all would have voted for him (instead of that weasel, McSame) in the primaries. But hey, I'm sure Sarah Palin will be embraced by the country...yeah right.
mrbhave 2 years ago
He's not a leader.
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
If you think Reagan or the Bush duo are conservatives, you're pretty ignorant. I just explained WHY they aren't conservative. Fiscal conservatism, smaller government, and a humble foreign policy are but a few of the solutions I have, all of which are embraced by the "squirrel," none of which were embraced by those posers who think the represent conservatism.
mrbhave 2 years ago
Listen to some of Reagan's speeches from the early sixties mrbhave. He was a Conservative, PERIOD. How do you know who I voted for? How do you know it was not independant candidates? You think you know everything. A "humble" foreign policy is weak and doesn't kill terrorists.
inkydinkydooky 2 years ago
You're obviously not familiar with adage, "actions speak louder than words." And the fact that you believed he was a conservative -- just because he told you -- makes you gullible. It doesn't take a Ph.D. to read through your neo-con talking points.
You're a bible-thumper, yet you're prepared to kill people just because the morons in charge label them "terrorists." What happened to "thou shalt not kill?" Oh, I forgot, you hypocrites only have a problem with killing fetuses. Don't vote.
mrbhave 2 years ago
Not a "Bible-Thumper", I'm a Christian asshole. I believe in Christ as Lord and Saviour. Personally, I wish he would cut your heart out and shove it down your throat you piece of trash! You are a spineless scum-bag. I won't respond to your comment, NOW GO SCREW YOURSELF! Bet you didn't know Born-Again-Christians could be so harsh! Ha-ha!! I guess you think it's ok to kill innocent babies, and leave the piece of garbage terrorists alone. Go form your third party and lose an election.
