i agree with you in saying they should have done the flashbacks to the Nazi occupation but i think it would have been a little iffy if they did have Colonel Herzog for example executing the towns people and looting the homes just because of what the Nazi's done in WW2 and in some place's you can be imprisoned for things like that personally i'd give it a 4.5/5 just because i loved the movie and it was different from what i usually see
hi, i have been reading many comments here and i see many complains about that there is no backstory, it is short but there is a back story there, you see the Nazi`s fled to the mountains when the villagres wanted to kill them, and the thing that made the nazi`s to zombies, was greed, that is basicly it, you acctually have to think a little about it, but i guess you acctually have to understand the movie (no offense), and i think this is a really good movie, cant write more now :P
they had a budget on 2,2 million dollars...they were filming under some of the most unpredictable weather conditions in the world...I think they held up pretty well :)
though, I agree that the backstory is a bit...short...
also, it is originally in norwegian, so A LOT of the jokes and funny comments were lost in translation...
i agree totally with what you are saying. no back story whatsoever! they could have at least have something where in WW2 the nazis make experiments in a bunker up the mountains and thats what causes the "zombies" i was disapointed at this film a bit. i expected so much more!
@trema006 meh, if they were "REAL" zombies, they would have been infected with the Solanum Virus, they couldnt have been running, climbing, they would have shambled towards theyre enemy, they would definetly not be able to climb up from the snow xD
Cool stuff guys, nice review. Seems you liked it :D. This is one I've been looking forward to for a long time. I like my Nazi zombie films, and this one has been getting great wraps. Hopefully a DVD release here is imminent.
You'll like this one, I think. It's not a classic, but it's a good weekend diversion for a horror fan. When you get time I'd like to see you do a video about Nazi zombie movies discussing things like Zombie Lake... : )
I saw Shock Wave as a kid and didn't 'get' it, but my horror taste buds were in no way developed back then. I've been meaning to re-watch it for years!
true i've seen much of what you guys recommend and well you guys never fail! i think its great to see how just about everymovie i've seen that you guys have done and i usualy agree with you like the dark knight

Yeah, anytime I hear "Nazi" and "zombie" together, it rarely delivers on its promise.

i think call of duty ripped alot off this (knife thrown through his eye, and the ACTUAL NAZI ZOMBIES)

@jonasHM i don't think you can count that extrememly brief scene as sufficient back story!

Well, you might get your chance. I got Zombie Lake in the mail on the way. Shock Waves is my favourite Nazi one :)
