  • BUT THE MOD CHIP MAKES EVEN THE SATURN REGION FREE?

  • @1191SPEED sadly no. :(

  • Did the case fit after installation when mounting the chip vertically? The segastyle guide suggests it doesn't...

  • man you must be a pro with a soldering iron to do that with the tip worn down so mutch

  • Now I know u have a Sega Saturn now

  • i never on a saturn but playing to get one what is that back slot for and can you play regualer sage sage cd 32x games if u mode the starun

  • @MYDRAGGIN84 nope, that back slot is for a memory card like cartrage or an Action Replay. The Saturn has no Backwards compatibility with Sega Genesis/CD/32x.

  • So much easier with a model 2 Saturn. Anyways, enjoy your Saturn.

The Racketboy guides are great for discovering some great games.

  • @TheSixthPartofSeven Yeah Racketboy is the place to be... :)

  • very cool. I might have to do that eventually.

  • @Captain85Kurt It's best $27 I've spent in awhile.. :), I've been playing it all day...

  • great job man!

would love to chip my saturn..=D

  • @elcheapouno Thanks man, but I warn you if you have a model 1 get out your tweezers and a magnifing glass... lol.. as you saw some of those jumpers were tiny as hell... hard to solder down because they were so small... oh yeah dont drink any caffiene before hand either lol....

  • @linuxfanman

I do have a model 1, and if make the jump to do this

and cant do it, ill just send it to you... lol!!

  • @elcheapouno Aghhh..... lol.. you should of seen me last nite man... I was getting all pissed... Cuz I got the tweezers and the wire them, under a magnifing glass trying to tin soilder with a broke ass iron and like 10 pepsi's under my belt... hehe.. i came soo close to throwing the chip against the wall a couple of times... :P

  • Could you link me to where you got the chip from? I've been looking to mod my model 2 for years!

  • @ScrewAttackEurope I just PM'ed you the website... It wouldnt let me post a link here

  • very cool video! I never did like the Saturn...but oh well. that is too bad that you don't have the model 2 and had to mod the chip to fit

  • @misterintellivision hehe... yeah... The saturn was cool untill the playstation came out... then that was it.... But I did enjoy it till then... sega just made the mistake of releasing it too early and at $399...

  • Never seen a mod chip like that jacks into the CD-ROM ribbon so easy. Well if you didn't have to mod it for model 1 anyway.

  • @MN12BIRD LOL.... If I only had the Model 2 it would of taken about 20 mins but seeing I have the model 1 it took like 2 hours... Oh well.. It was worth it in the long run...

  • i got the action replay to play imports but i like the video was interesting..thanks for sharing :D

  • @techromancer1 No Prob man... Yeah I was going to go the action replay route but I decided I might as well go for the mod chip...

  • Very cool man :D I have to try this also...only have a few Saturn games ;)

    Thanks for the tutorial.

  • @thomas3120 No problem man

  • Wicked! I gotta try this sometime.

  • @BlooditeDrakan Yeah man its really worth it... And the chips are like super cheap now.. I remember when they were like $100 or so...

  • Fortunately I had model 2 and my chip works great! That is about the extent of my modding skills lol!

  • @MaximumRD Yeah it was a major pain modding the chip. But it all worked out in the end... Kinda wished I had a model 2 there for awhile last nite... hehe
