How could anyone say the live performances are better than the tracks themselves??? I grew up listening to Roger and Zapp. They are one of my favorite bands ever! The live performances are the best, but you can't say that the original tracks aren't phenomenal as well. They are BOTH great. It's a shame that there wasn't as much media coverage when Roger died as there was when Barry White, Isaac Hayes, Teddy Pendergrass, Pac, Biggie (I could go on and on) died. RIP ROGER. We love u man.
i keep hearing aboat roger and his talkbox which is fine but roger was the best guitarst ever heard. had avery uniqe sound. sounded like a blended guitar and organ.this was way back in the day. for an example. they did a show at the lakeview palldium in dayton with parliment and funkadelic.he played maggot brain george clinton was sitting in the audienc.he jumped up screaming i got to have that man he"s bad. i have to say he did the song better. he reily is a gutarist
Roger Sr. was one of the most talented and energetic performers I ever seen. I saw his show in the early 90's and was very pleased. What people don't know is that that talent also was passed down to his son (Roger Jr. also passed away but has some cuts off his albums posted on under Roger Lynch) , and also Rufus Troutman, who has a wonderful gospel cd posted on facebook and also Rufus Troutman.com. I believe we should lift up the gifts that God has given to the remaining family members.
HIS SON-Police arrested a man (Brent Lanier Lynch, 11/30/85, 853 Minnehaha) at 85x Minnehaha for kidnapping, criminal sexual conduct and terroristic threats Monday, September 5th about 12:30 a.m. The man had kidnapped his ex-girlfriend at Randolph and Cleveland and repeatedly raped her Sunday, September 4th from midnight to 10 a.m. She was treated at the hospital. A pick up and hold order was issued for the suspect. He was arrested early the next morning. (CN 05-189913)GOOGLE HIS NAME

@RodneySmallz I'm gay and thought this was one of the best performances I've ever seen. Zapp's first three albums are some of the funkiest things to grace God's green earth. "Brand New Player", "Playing Kinda Ruff", "Come On", "Be Alright"... just amazing music.
I think the people who disliked this video just don't like funk music.
doesn't anyone remember this band? The only song I really know is "Radio People" from 1985 and dude I LOVE that song! I want to hear songs from their 1989 album "Zapp V" (1989 was the year I was born, NOT 1992) but it's not on itunes or Youtube or anything.
Roger was special. he was riding the music business in the end cause everybody wanted his sound but he put out some stone cold funky dance songs when he first got started. Had passes to his show in town and he got killed. fuck.. the show went on with subs... Slave and that group that did no parking on the dance floor. Knowing how the keys rock the room with Roger I was sad I would never hear that band again.
@lioncamp1 You may need to describe the difference between the Wah-Wah on mike method that Sly originally used on "Sex Machine"...the talk box, vocoder, then much later the autotune. They are all extremely different in era, sound, and approach.
I saw them in Virginia Beach last year, Roger would be proud. Same energy, Quality Show, gave 210%!!! Hellified. My wife talked about for at least 2 weeks!!
