Get down to one life and then die. When you're dying, start hitting the pause button rapidly. If you do it right, your life counter will read '0'. Do it a few more times for extra measure, then unpause for good. It should drop down to '-1' and will continue to decrease. There's a good chance you'll mess up though, it takes a few tries until you master it.

It didn't work. i tried it a multiple amout of times. It didn't even go to 0. It just stayed at 1.
