Sorry that it has taken me so long to get back to you Peter. The answer is CCC will not erase the data on your internal HD. It will simply make an exact clone/boot image of your iMac. No data is wiped. It just takes the image of your drive and makes an exact copy onto the external drive.
Hello Daniel, I have purchased IMac just two months ago. I have installed my music software, few apps and gathered about 1 GB data on it. I would like to make exact bootable image of this stuff on my external HD. Will CCC erase all data from my internal HD before it will make image or it will make image on external HD and save all my data?So the question is :in order to make bootable image of my Lion OS on external HD I have to wipe up internal disk or CCC will save all data?
