It is a Biblical principle and that is why it works. The Bible says, "Write your vision & make it plain, SO YOU CAN RUN WITH IT." Vision excellerates our manifestation. I did this awhile back. I was out of work & penniless. I needed money 2 visit my aging mom. It had been 2.5yrs since I saw her. I had believed for money and spoke it daily but Spirit showed me I needed excelleration through VISION. I posted my vision where I could see it continually. Shortly after, over $1K came for my trip!
When I was a kid, my family always educated me on the fact that I COULD NOT do. They always said I wouldn't amount to much.
