sweet series you have going on here. I listen to the podcast and am enjoying these shows. Keep them coming man these are great. Can't wait for the Sonic era to kick in.
Man....I'm sure PSII was fantastic for it's time (I was too young to know anything other than Mario back then) but playing it in my adult life (Sega Smash Pack Vol. 1 on DC or Sonic's UGC) is a chore. Like you said in the video, it's the pain-in-the-ass grind. Dont have that kind of time or patience anymore. It looks like such a cool game, though. If I'm ever unemployed or lose interest in sleep, I might just invest my time in playing through PSII.
Fantastic job Greg. I've always been a big fan of Thunder Force II, so you repeatedly failing at it and then saying you don't like the overhead stages came across as a little soul crushing. On the other hand, you do such a good job with this series that I can't help but forgive you for your tastes. I do share your apathy for Daisenryaku though. It's got nothing on Famicom Wars, which came out around the same time.
@ILikePopCans Yeah, I'll try to do a better job at that in the future. For now, though, I've been concentrating on Japan and NA. If you see two covers at the beginning of a segment, it was at least released in those two territories. And the console logo on the screen signifies which territory it originated in (not to mention the first title in the information bit).

BTW, I'm also a big fan of P1P, and an old-school EGM reader!

Really loving these. Wish there was more quality stuff like this for other consoles.

Best thing about PS2 was probably the intro for me, and of course the music.

The insane difficulty was my downfall with PSII even though I loved almost every other thing about it.

It would be nice if you also note the territory the game was release in when you give the release date. Keep up the good work.
