C company 2/81 07'. Some of the hardest things and some of the best things i've come to face in life were in knox....kinda sad those are just memories now :/
D/1/46 in '87. Since I was not in 'perfect' physical shape when I got there, I was assigned to the Fitness Battalion for a couple of weeks. I stayed in the wooden barracks, and actually the one where the barracks scenes were filmed for Stripes. Because it was filmed on the first floor, we had to use the second. Obstacle course was still the same.
Graduate of Basic with C/19/4 in 1981... I can never forget Fort Knox. I'd love to see it again. Do you all know that it is where the movie "Stripes" was filmed...? The Triple Nickle Drill Pad and all...? Agony, Misery and Heartbreak anyone...? The PT pits and the old wooden barracks...? I can still see, smell and taste those memories from basic traing at Frot Knox. Thanks for the video.
@Skubishack You wouldn't recognize it Im afraid. Basic training is in a different place completed and in less than a year it won't even be conducted at Fort Knox. Your wooden barracks were torn down recently with the exception of 4 buildings which are used for urban warfare training. Accross the street is the new Army human resources center which is second in square footage to the pentagon.

Oh, rough doesn't even begin to describe it. The DI's there could give Satan a few hints on how to run his operation. But if you want to be a soldier in the US Army, few better places exist to go to BCT than Fort Knox, KY. You'll hate it more than Hell itself while there, but believe me when I say you'll be grateful you didn't go to Relaxin' Jackson instead once it's over.

@NathanG2010 but how long is your training compared to ours? I believe cav scouts is like 15 weeks? which is osut so 15 weeks total correct me if im wrong I was gone in training for 9 months so there is a bit of a stretch in the training times.

I just came back from Fort Knox Leadership Training Course from June 11-July 8th. C 1/46 Inf 3rd PLT 4 Squad. I am going to commission as an officer Fall Semester 09. Some privates over there were assholes during our free days, but hey as soon as get my Bar they can't say shit. Drill Sergeant Buggy was awsome, Drill Sergeant Rios was a fucking asshole Spanish peice of shit, Drill Sergeant Baker was a asshole too fucking E-5 I don't even know why they made him a drill sergeant. Bastard. Food good

just so ya know, the PSG leads the platoon, you just talk to the other officers and shoot in the same direction as the other 4 tanks... you do know there are 4 tanks in a platoon right?
fort knox (2-46 f) nice clip but it not fun and game's but the food was good and also good heating system when you make the walls swet and you are full battle rattle and your nbc mask but it is fun with the 30 sec showers but you will learnd to be better but the food is good

The barracks are spotless if a little old. Sometimes a washer breaks down, but nothing that really stands out. The food is some of the best in the world, but that may just be a starving recruit talking.

Hey Cruise, when I was in I had a PL just like you. I figured when I got to Bosnia I would find a way to frag him, that's how bad he was. I'm glad the opportunity never presented itself, but in this decade I'm guessing you might just not want to piss on your soldiers like my LT did on me and my loader. I just came back from Fort Knox Leadership Training Course from June 11-July 8th. C 1/46 Inf 3rd PLT 4 Squad. I am going to commission as an officer Fall Semester 09. Some privates over there were assholes during our free days, but hey as soon as get my Bar they can't say shit. Drill Sergeant Buggy was awsome, Drill Sergeant Rios was a fucking asshole Spanish peice of shit, Drill Sergeant Baker was a asshole too fucking E-5 I don't even know why they made him a drill sergeant. Bastard. Food good

fort knox (2-46 f) nice clip but it not fun and game's but the food was good and also good heating system when you make the walls swet and you are full battle rattle and your nbc mask but it is fun with the 30 sec showers but you will learnd to be better but the food is good

The barracks are spotless if a little old. Sometimes a washer breaks down, but nothing that really stands out. The food is some of the best in the world, but that may just be a starving recruit talking.
