This amp rocks! I played this amp and the 12,000 series at the 3rd Annual Motor City Guitar Amplifier Showcase in Southfield, Michigan a couple weeks back. Metropoulos Amplification was there along with 8 other amplifier companies (but I only wanted to see Metro Amps for they were the big attraction). After hearing and plugging into them first hand, I thought I died and went to heaven!
The hell on getting a new Marshall. Metropoulos Amps are the real deal!
I'd like to hear a Les Paul Historic neck position. Would it be too muddy??? That's the problem with Historics and many Marshalls is that the neck pup is real undefined and mushy. Especially on KT66 based amps.
Finally, a great sounding strat also.

The secret to getting a tone out of an amp like this is your location.
If you are in a shop or a warehouse with hard acoustics where you can crank it -
its happy time.
In your bedroom where you have to behave - forget about a tone like this.

Fantastic tone brother!

This is the version I'd get if I had to pick one. Although the 67 is the whip in the gain dept. the 45/100 has the bluesy funky clean that spanks!

That. Sounds. Amazing. What tubes are in it? KT66?

I think it's enough to be able to tell on youtube. Actually, I find it most obvious in this video. This amp sounds very bright

Does putting a master volume kit on these rob any tone?
bigman12583 2 years ago
There is a tonal tradeoff as you lower the MV control. Not bad overall, but quite noticable at bedroom levels.

@metroampcom If you have a master volume and crank it and use the gain knob as the volume does the amp act as a non master volume amp.
