I’d rather watch a video of Al Pacino’s ice cold stare than any of this new CGI stuff. The real depth isn’t in the form of 3D films, it’s when you watch an actor and see that they have truly embraced themselves in the character they are portraying. The Godfather truly is the best.

People love The Godfather because it's a great movie - period. Goodfellas is also a great movie - should've won Best Picture in 1990, but it's the antithesis of The Godfather. Before anything else, The Godfather is about family, and doing what's best for them; because of that, it connects to people on an emotional level, that Goodfellas can't. Goodfellas is pretty much about looking out for #1. Of course by the end of The Godfather, Michael has moved away from the importance of family.
